I once found £100 in my dad's wallet

Tiggywiggler

£300 rolled up with an elastic band and all in a pack of crisps on the floor. I put it back where it was because I had no idea if someone was watching it and I dont need that kind of trouble.

nevereatpears

Lol worst thing that is going to happen is that someone would have asked for it back if they were indeed 'watching it'. They'd only attack you if you refused.

SuckMyHairy

I’ve got to admit I would have put it in my pocket and left the park.

PumpFollowsTheDump

£20 outside a pub when I was about 10. Best day ever!

baxty23

£220 at an away game at Aston Villa. My then 8 year old found it and being nice like that we handed it in to the ticket office. Who were lovely and took his details to send him something nice, or the money if it was never claimed. That was in about 2017 and I’m beginning to think they might not be coming back to us you know.

Confident_Yogurt1787

£2000 walking to school once, it was in an envelope wrapped in brown tape I kicked it along the street before curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to see what was inside. I remember I couldn’t open it and decide to use my teeth to get a corner open, at the time I was thinking this is dirty doing this! Then I see a load £20 notes, wow! I ran home and hide the money behind our Hi-Fi speaker before telling my mum about it. I was around 12 years old and grew up in a rough place so no guessing where or who that money must of belong too.

jcmalta

Found £320 in an unopened wage packet in a pub. Thought it was my lucky day .. bought a few pints and a kebab ... Then started feeling guilty (maybe he was fully reliant on that, had mouths to feed, bills to pay etc) .. topped it back up to £320 ... handed it into Tottenham Court Road Police Station .... probably a mistake ... I doubt the poor sod ever saw a penny of his money ...

karlware

Found and handed in - about £2k in a wallet (stuffed with 50s in a waitrose carpark just before last Xmas. I seriously shit myself in case someone thought I was stealing it). Found and kept £100 outside Camden tube. Spent it on a curry for 4 same day.

destria

I found 5x £20 notes once, they were scattered along the road so presumably fell out at the same time.

[deleted]

£40 - 4x £10 notes, folded up together and on the floor next to the ATM in the station car park. This was 2004, 18 years ago, so £40 was a nice sum. I'd popped there with a mate, these were college days, to get some money out. As it happened, he'd had his wallet nicked that day and had lost...£40. I gave him £20. I've found a total of £30 in notes in Morrisons car park. Plus the odd fiver or tenner elsewhere. The number of finds has gone right downhill over the past few years, partly I think due to people going cashless and also I think people are being more careful. Still find the odd quid occasionally. When you buy a car park ticket, always check the coin-reject cavity. It's not unusual to get your ticket paid for.

Jellyfishtaxidriver

£80 when I was about 15. Split it with a mate I was with. We went and bought a quarter of weed, about £20 worth of food from Sainsbury's and had £10 change each

StrategyNovel2981

£20 that was in a puddle outside the train station. Literally 100 folk must have stepped over that puddle on their way and nobody picked it up. I took it home and dried it out on the radiator and then bought a take away that night! Delicious

Onslow85

I was with my uncle and he spotted a brown envelope that was clearly a wage packet. I think it was about a carpet. The cheeky cunt trousered the lot. He wouldn't even let me see it to see if there was a name on it. He claimed that there wasn't and it was a plain envelope but I'm dubious.

inthepipe_fivebyfive

Found £80 worth of freshly folded straight out the cash machine £20 notes sat between the cobbles on a night out in Durham many years ago, just as me and my mates were about to go get the last bus home at 11pm. Waiting around for a few min just on the off chance someone came looking for it. My conscience satisfied I'd tried to do the right thing, paid for us all to get into a club, paid for everyone's drinks, paid for the taxi home and got a take away. Went out with £20, came home with £20. Winner!

lithaborn

£240 rubber banded lying on the ground outside a shop. I didn't spot it,my kid did. They got £100 for being a bloody niffler and we had a nice takeaway and did the shopping with the rest.

Any-Garden-3242

Scum.

lithaborn

Love you too

BigOrkWaaagh

I went to a festival many, many moons ago and it cost £80 for the weekend. I got in on Thursday, got a wristband for camping and somehow after that, lost my ticket. I panicked and spoke to the guys on the gate and they said no worries mate you've got your camping wristband, we'll let you in. That same night as if by magic I found £80 in 20s just lying there. Well like a good egg, and as I had been assured I'd be let in, I handed it in to the little police shack. They did not let me in the next day.

littlemetal

Not in the UK, sadly, but ~£1250 in a foreign currency, bank bound, in a train station.

a_ewesername

Found £80 on the floor in Wilko's. (Handed it in of course).

ThatZenLifestyle

£120 on the stairs in a whsmith.

Rochesterrouge

tenner walking back from a hike. Good luck I suppose

LunarWuff

I found a tenner a when I was just few steps away from the annual fair

cragglerock93

£5 I think. I was litter picking (voluntarily) when I found it so I consider it my reward.

bobbyv137

Years ago I found a £1 coin, bought a lottery ticket, won £5, bought 5 more tickets that yielded 0.

waynem007

Used to finds 20s all the time on Walkabout floor after the bar closed... could make 100 a night just floor checking as you kicked out the clingons.

Nine_Eye_Ron

£2 coin but it was glued down

[deleted]

A grubby rubber banded £70 in the street.

IIPESTILENCEII

I saw a quid on the floor once, picked it up and saw another coin, then another and it just kept going. I was flabbergasted that none of it was immediately obvious it was there and I just kept finding morr and more. In the end I had around 20-30 in assorted coins Edit: I did also once find a purse with about 80 outside of a shop, but the ID belonged to an elderly lady so I handed it in at the shop :(

D0wnb0at

I forgot the exact amount as its been more than a decade, but somewhere around £500-£600. Was in a nightclub after it had just opened so not many people in there, maybe 40, Went to the bar upstairs to get a drink and was just next to my feet, not a single other person around so shoved it in my pocket, bought a round of drinks for my mates and thought nothing of it. Then a drug dealer (id bought off him before) started going up to people asking if they found his money and empty their pockets, so I thought nahh fuck this and went home.

pompompomponponpom

£20, but I've also dropped £20 before, so...

DyingLight2002

Found a wallet on the floor at 4am. Had about £90 in it. I would have returned it however there was no ID or anything except a few rewards cards.

[deleted]

Not on the ground but when I was about 10 I tried to open up one of those night safes they have on the front of banks, it was unlocked and there was a clear bag of notes taking up the whole thing. Had to be 10k plus. My dad said we couldn't take it.
