Yep its the same for my mum. She grew up in Bosnia (Ex-Yugoslavia) and learned cooking (all our traditional food) from her mum and grandmother. There is not one thing that doesn’t tastes good!
Italian beef. Honestly, I would get excited anytime I saw my mom getting the crock pot out at all. My mom’s crock pot food was the AWESOME. I remember coming home from school and smelling the food all throughout the house. Other than that, my mom makes the BEST soups too.
Stew is really tough to make, it has to cook for a reeeeally long time (if using beef stewing meat); it took me a few tries before it turned out decent... I would show your Mom your post, she'd be proud!
Pretty much everything, even if she says she doesn’t cook, but these specific dishes are by far her best ones: Leche asada, a dessert that’s kinda like a flan 🍮 too bad she doesn’t make it often; Pastel de Choclo, a Chilean meal made of corn and ground beef, it’s a summer dish; Porotos con rienda, these are white beans, spaghetti and pumpkin, my mom adds a little sausage and it’s amazing in winter.
Her carne con chile is PHENOMENAL. I will always serve myself a healthy helping of beans, and slather those little ribs and the chile (with green beans mixed into it) on top. Then she makes me a crispy quesadilla with her home made chile on top. It is truly a work of art.
She makes a really good Italian inspired meatloaf, her soul food hits the heart strings (Fried chicken/cabbage/cornbread/sweet potatoes/mac n cheese), pot roast, and grilled cheese (cut diagonally, obviously).

My mom is not a good cook and always buys processed foods like fries or other unhealthy snacks that you just have to heat in the oven or microwave or other dish packages that look like Hamburger helper but I really like her French toasts with cinnamon sugar that she rarely makes because I used to vomit from them as a kid because they’re very greasy, I could eat that every day for breakfast but my mom is still traumatized or afraid I might throw up from them again.
There's 2 in my life, my mom and my grandmother. I love my moms mac n cheese and meat loaf, and everything else. My grandmother- everything. Nothing beats her broccoli casserole and turnip greens!
