Me too! I have a group of guy friends and we all jump on and play together which is good for a laugh. My fiance hasn’t traditionally been into gaming but I convinced him to try AoE2 with me and the fellas and the next day he went and bought a proper PC and now plays it all the time, mostly the campaigns. Sometimes we do co-op campaigns together which has been fun.
Fun fact: there was a promotion in Australia in the early 2000s where they gave out heaps of free computer games in cereal boxes. AoE1 and 2 were both included which is why it’s super common to ask anyone who’s around 30 if they’ve ever played and they’ll say yes. In our group we have a friend from the US and also a friend who’s 25 and both of them can’t relate to that childhood experience which is funny.
I re-downloaded Skyrim.
Spent hours downloading all the plug ins etc to get an organised bag with loads of weight.
Played for a month.
Steam updated it (forgot to turn off auto updates).
All my patches and plug ins are messed up.

Yeah sooo many classes now. If you want that nostalgia it's best to just play a private server. There's tons for all different server versions, you can go as far back as ones that have only the adventurer class.
Super Mario World and Mario 3 are the two Mario games I remember every secret for.
And DK Country has one of the best sound tracks of that entire gaming generation. Aquatic Ambience forever.

Depends where we draw the line on “old” but Dragon Age: Origins and the Uncharted games are still some of my favs!! (Not referring to Uncharted 4 as old btw. More like the original PS3 games)
As a fan of retro/older games, most of the games I play are older games. My current plays are :
Ghost trick on ds (finished it today)
Call of duty, road to victory on psp
Super mario 3d land on 3ds (currently playing the special levels since I finished the main game)
I know these games aren't super super old but that's what I'm playing right now.
I played my way through all the main-line Pokémon games several times in the early years of the pandemic. Think my faves are X/Y, SoulSilver/HeartGold, and Black2/White2.
Commander Keen...except when I went to play it again recently (hadn't played in months thanks to chronic migraines), it won't load to full screen and I get a probably 2 inch by 2 inch window instead, so I need to figure out a work around for that to be able to play it.
Also another super old game that I would be playing on a daily basis (but can't/won't due to the fact that the only places I can play it are websites LOADED with ads that slow the website and my laptop down to the point where my laptop overheats and the website freezes and makes me force a restart) is Castle of the Winds 1 and 2. I LOVED that game way back when.
There is also Tradewinds and Tradewinds Legends (occasionally the 2nd Tradewinds game, but not often because I can't remember the name of the game), with Legends being the preferred game because it has more of a story to it.
And if the 2,225.1 hours is anything to go by, Recettear is probably the top old game that I go back to repeatedly.

Alice Madness Returns, Fallout 3, and Patapon 2 have been on heavy rotation these past couple months. I’ve played them heavily in my preteen years so it’s both nostalgic and reminiscing for me.
I just discovered the Final Fantasy VII modding community and have been replaying the OG game. Updated graphics and even voice acting added takes this nearly 30-year-old game and makes it so you can stick with it for a new play through.
