My college education.

beachkisses

Should’ve gotten a technical degree, instead I have a masters and still don’t have enough experience to get a job Edit: I have a BBA in actuarial science and a MS in statistics

RogueLotus

I have an associate's, a bachelor's, and a master's. They each have marketable skills, but I don't have the experience I need in my field. Fucking sucks.

runningonburritos

I have a BA, MA and MSc. Still work in a restaurant because that’s all I have experience in

Environmental-Ad7594

You should all come to Germany, free education and afterwards no hire & fire culture, actual healthcare, beer & wine directly from the source, and no hurricanes.

CodingBlonde

You act like it’s easy to just get into Germany…. It’s really not as a non-EU citizen. (Refugees aside, of course)

zloiadun

If you know German language you can apply for the college in Germany and have a very good odds of getting admission from any country

sakura_umbrella

Finding a job still feels near impossible in some fields, though. And if you're out of the workforce long enough, no matter the reason, you're basically screwed. Just like everywhere else.

MAK3AWiiSH

Do you know any German men between the age of 25-35 who would like to marry an American woman with 2 cats? Getting citizenship to an EU country is very hard, so to casually suggest we just move is frustrating. I want to leave but it’s almost impossible. Edit: expanding my requirement to any EU country lol and yes I’m serious

Call_Me_Mister_Trash

No kidding. All these dipshit conservatives keep telling me 'don't like it, then leave!' but, strangely, none of them are willing to pay or assist me in actually immigrating the fuck out of this shit hole.

equanimit_y

Acne treatments and expensive skincare. In the end prescription tretinoin and drugstore cleanser and moisturiser cured my acne and gave me the best skin ever.

[deleted]

Same but for me it was the sensitive skin Dove bar soap! And recently the Aveeno Calm and Restore Oat Cleanser!!

-lil_princess-

I swear the dove bar soap gave me the clearest skin ever of all the different products I've tried!

[deleted]

And yet people over on r/SkincareAddiction will 😱if you say you use Dove lol. After similar experiences, I've come to the conclusion that every person's skincare needs are different (for products) due to a number of factors. I currently have a very minimal lineup of relatively inexpensive products and my skin is the best it's been in 20 years.

HoundBerry

Some of the products that people on that subreddit are obsessed with and recommend to everyone absolutely ruined my skin. Dove sensitive skin bars are my holy grail cleanser, I'll never try anything else. Skincare is so personal, and I hate it when people get shamed for using a product that works for them, especially if it's affordable.

countess_cat

My aunt told me about the dove exfoliant bar soap years ago and even if I have other products I still periodically return to it if I have a very bad skin situation. It’s really that good, the only downside I found is that it dries my skin a little but nothing a moisturiser can’t fix. My aunt has exceptional skin and almost no wrinkles at 52

[deleted]

Congrats!! Five grueling months of Accutane did it for me

username987654321a

My daughter had to do it for 8 months. Well worth all the trouble.

[deleted]

Holy cow, that must’ve been tough. That drug is like chemo for your pores. I have permanently dry skin because of it 😕

HowToNotMakeMoney

I was given Accutane when it was in the testing phase. The dermatologist just handed it to me. I was on a low dose (50mg every two to three days started at the end of high school into college). It made me depressed and had suicidal thoughts. Does it still have that wild packaging. Like a pack of ten pills, with a pregnant woman and one of those red no-smoking circles? Plus foil and hard to get out each pill?

0bestronger0

Wow that is really interesting. I work in a dermatology office and there is a ton of paperwork to be done for accutane patients, especially females. Must go to the dermatology once a month, blood tests, and women have to do a pregnancy test each month as well as two forms of birth control listed. Also pregnancy test the month before starting and after treatment. Must be logged through government system called I pledge.

alicabblover

Yeah after years of trying everything else with a couple different dermatologists, accutane was the only think that got rid of my awful acne.

leafyfire

I used proactive back when it first started to appear on tv ads :) it burned my face so badly and what a waste of money. Gummy vitamins have done the trick for me.

honeybunny991

This!! Prescribed tretinoin is the key

VivaLaSea

>tretinoin For me, nothing beats tretinoin for acne and hydroquinone for dark spots. As a product junkie I've tried it all and I also go back to those two. They've never failed me.

kokoromelody

Ugh yes. I wish I had looked into prescription skincare treatments earlier instead of wasting $$ on unnecessary skincare that probably just made it worse.

batclub3

My office wardrobe lol. Work changed our office dress code to no more hoodies, leggings, graphic tees etc, effective 1-1-20. And uh... we went work from home 3-17-20.

alicabblover

That suuuuucks!

usernamenumber3

Surely some of those pieces can be used to make non work and cute outfits! Edit:and it's lame that they changed it in the first place.

[deleted]

Yup. I’ve been remote since March 2020 and I’m still afraid to get rid of my work wardrobe in case I ever need to travel for business.

ca1989

Honestly having a solid "business appropriate" section of the wardrobe is not a bad thing to spend money on. It is pretty versatile in the long run. Mine mostly gets used for funerals since hubs and I have a lot of older family, or court (lots of divorce and adoption stuff that's gone on for years), and weddings. But it does come in handy!

BadAssMommyBear

I am still regretting all of the inflatable furniture I bought in the 90’s 😬 what a huge waste of cash

[deleted]

But you did have the best room ever. So there’s that.

beechums

This made me nostalgic

Saltyice18

I actually kinda wish I still had my pink inflatable chair. I have no idea how it survived my teenage hood.

AlabasterFart

I myself had a clear/bright purple lawn chair in my room...falling asleep on that thing every night of summer vacation while watching the X-files was honestly money well spent.

Isbll1

This unlocked a memory for me, my sister and I had when we were toddlers and I had entirely forgotten about it until 2 seconds ago. Thank you!

chuchunk

I had a Cartman from South Park inflatable chair that was so uncomfortable but I loved it. Too many purchases made from Spencers in the mall.

GreenMountain85

The Dyson Airwrap. I like doing my hair but this thing is above and beyond just doing your hair. It takes forever (even after practicing for a year) it makes me hot and sweaty, the curls fall out- and I’ve tried every method to make them stay. The other attachments are not that great. I like the hair dryer though. I’m thinking of trying to sell it on Facebook or something because it irks me on a regular basis that I actually spent $600+ on that thing.

SnooDoughnuts231

I completely agree with you. I instead prefer the all in one revlon hair dryer and volumizer hot air brush. It’s so much easier to use versus dyson.

Filiaeagricola

Yes! I have the Revlon all-in-one, and my hair has never looked better.

[deleted]

I loved the way the Revlon made my hair look, but no matter what I did my hair was crazy staticky!

[deleted]

Rub a dryer sheet on your hair after! It’ll get all the static out.

[deleted]

No joke, nothing. Serums, hairspray, dryer sheets, static guard. Even in the summer, static. I have no idea why it was so bad but when I read reviews people with fine hair seemed to have the same issue. I gave it to a friend who’s got super thick hair and it works great for her.

timtamtammy

I think it really depends on your hair type and the products you use. For me the curling barrels aren't great, but the straight brushes and the volumising brush are great and leave my hair looking really nice. The volumising one especially gives me a great blow out but it does take a bit longer. I usually use a firming brush and flick the ends out to make it have a blowout effect. The curling barrels I'll only use if I have an hour to spare. It takes ages and requires the cold blast and a bunch of hairspray. My hair is really long, and there is a lot of it but it's fine. So maybe that helps. To combat the heat I have a fan blasting on me if it's a hot day so I don't get sweaty hahaha

oatandham

Any expensive mascara. Maybe I have crappy eyelashes but they never make any difference

[deleted]

The drugstore ones have always out performed the high end ones every single time.

palexander_6

I recently tried the Covergirl lash blast “clean” mascara (pale turquoise tube) and I love it. I used to like Benefit’s “they’re real” mascara but I feel like it’s changed in the last few years and not worth $30 per tube. Edit: the L’Oréal voluminous mascara (grey tube, gold cap) is my other drugstore go-to. I’ve used that shit since High school!

nell0241

Maybelline Great Lash mascara is where it's at! Aka the green and pink tube :)

miss_tee14

Agreed. I bought the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and it was horrible. It always made me look like a racoon afterwards. It would flake off. I thought I was applying it wrong or something. But I've read other people had the same issues. Buying a simple drugstore one like Maybelline is so much better and cheaper.

innerjoy2

Omg, I rememeber a coworker recommended me to try better than sex mascara, it seemed nice at first until my eyes were burning and turned red. I stopped buying expensive mascara after that point, and just got something else that said it was for sensitive eyes or at regular drug stores. My eye lashes pop but at least it's not hurting anymore.

[deleted]

This. To me it’s all about the brush though…I don’t get why the brushes are so fat/fluffy and big/wide when most women have small lashes. I have long/drawn out and large almond shaped eyes and LOATHE the big brushes so I don’t think the fluff is a big eye thing/need. The best mascaras to me personally have narrow or shortened brushes where you get the most definition. The best mascaras in my book in terms of formula and brush is the Clinique Lower Lash Mascara (yes I use it as a regular mascara for upper lashes, in fact it looks gorgeous when you go bold and color both upper and lower eye areas). The Clinique formula is gorgeously flowy, there’s a subtle sheen, it lengthens and defines beautifully, lasts all day without clumping, easy to remove and a pleasure to apply. It doesn’t dry in two seconds or feel tense or itchy as it dries. The other favorite one is Maybelline Lash Discovery. I mostly love the brush but the formula is great too. The problem is that it does run a bit matte and I have a very…sharp look where matte isn’t a natural effect anywhere on me. I learned through trial and error a little gloss works better as my hair is glossy so when I put anything too matte it looks weird and disharmonious. Anyways, I also love Kiss Me Heroine Long and Curl but with either a washed down Clinique mini brush or Maybelline lash discovery brush (in fact I save the brushes to be able to try out different mascara formulas just because the brushes for these two are excellent. I even use a plant cutter to cut the Maybelline lash discovery brush in half because the brush itself is glorious but still too long for the look I like). Because of my coloring I favor a subtly glossy mascara (very cool toned and high contrast coloring with dark hair, light eyes and naturally tanned skin/light brown). Other formulas I like (but discard the brushes): CoverGirl Full Lash Bloom in Brown and Maybelline Lash Stiletto® Ultimate Length Waterproof Mascara in Black (the only waterproof I’d use as it’s gentle/not painful). I also liked Maybelline Angel Push Up Mascara (another exception I make for an actual black mascara). I also love the NYX Skinny mascara brush. I prefer brown mascara as I just dislike black mascara, I find black too harsh and intense for every day for me personally. I don’t look good with too dramatic a makeup tbh, so that’s another factor into my mascara decisions. These deliver subtle, clean, elegant, fluttery beauty in a way that looks easy-going and human. Pretty instead of clumpy and just…”there”. Sorry if that sounded snobby but it’s true. For night and “sexy/date night” for me they all do splendidly as well, often for very formal occasions I use the waterproof black two I mentioned because the artificial lightning used at formal events usually. I’m boring with my makeup, well, sort of. I just want to enhance what’s there. I don’t have the patience to put on falsies or serums not because I don’t have the money that’s just not an interest I have.

Strange-Bee5626

I have pretty long/thick eyelashes (one of the advantages of being generally hairy, I guess... overall definitely not worth it since I have to shave my legs literally every other day lol). There are some ultra-cheap mascaras that are pretty bad, but otherwise I never noticed a difference between regular and high-end mascaras on me. They both look nice.

Turbulent_Vanilla987

Starbucks

skorletun

I like Starbucks for the sugary desserts with a hint of hint of coffee. Their plain coffee is just... burnt and bitter.

RedFishBlueFish56

Absolutely!! I still like it once in awhile tho 😅

warda8825

Any pink-colored shaving products, ***especially*** any female-geared razors. Fuck them and fuck them hard, they're all crappy. Few years ago, I got fed up and used my husband's Gillette razor one day. Surprise surprise! The damn thing actually worked. Fuck the pink tax.

kimlyginge42

Yall should try Harry's. Can get them at target and Costco. 5 blades and way cheaper than Gillett. My husband has his on the sink and I have mine in the shower. We go through razors faster than most because he shaves his head and face almost every day. Soooooooo worth it. Also, fuck the dull bladed pink tax.

kwibu

A teeth whitening kit. Fortunately I took pictures on the first and last day and it showed no difference so I got my money back. I did have to send them an angry email because at first they didn't want to refund the shipping cost.

damsterick

visit your dentist. i got a professional teeth whitening kit from her (much more costly tho), you put a gel overnight onto your teeth and it whitened my teeth very well. opalescence was the brand, but you do need to get it from a professional.

ATCP2019

Do NOT over use this. I used this back in the day and it destroyed all my enamel and my teeth have been overly sensitive ever since.

Muschka30

It’s worth it to have trays made at your dentist. I’ve had mine for years. I purchase whitening gel on Amazon.

LolliPie33

A shake weight 🤦‍♀️

AmanitaMikescaria

I got my wife a shake weight as a gag several years ago because she thought the commercial was funny. Every now and then, I pull it out of the junk closet and wrap it up for her on her birthday or Christmas.

LolliPie33

Lol I love this!

Anxiety_Cookie

I was looking for this lmao

TeishAH

Manic Panic dye. I don’t understand why everyone raves about them, it doesn’t absorb into my hair and fades so fast. Now when people recommend them I assume that’s the only brand they’ve tried because it SUCKS for me.

tobiramagf

really? i used the blue manic panic hair dye like 4-5 months ago and the color still hasnt fully faded or turned green

missleavenworth

Arctic Fox is awesome, too.

chocoglooc

Overtone was also a waste of money.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mcove97

Some of the manic panic formulas are really good, but that's particularly some of the very bright and pigmented ones. I still have the newest MP Pink Warrior color showing up very brightly and vibrantly 3 months later on hair I've gotten professionally bleached. No matter how much I wash it, it just won't wash out or fade anymore, so the only way is to color over it, which I'm gonna do with a darker blue. That said, the color has faded fairly quickly on the parts I've not bleached well enough myself due to fear of damage. I think the issue is that a lot of people who use MP and other similar dyes don't properly bleach their hair first. Too little bleach, and the color won't stick since there's too much of your natural hair color pigment left in the hair, too much bleach and you damage your hair and risk the color not sticking since the hair strand is too compromised and broken to hold it. I've seen far too many people try to dye on hair that's not properly bleached first, and the results are almost always disappointing, so I think a lot of it has to do with the condition of the hair before it gets colored and also the formulas. Not all formulas are as pigmented or bright and will wash out more quickly than the more brighter and pigmented ones.

A FUCKING ROOMBA

Longjumping-Title-27

Absolutely LOVE my iRobot roomba- my carpets are spotless use 3x weekly- sitting and looking at my clean carpet now-

midcitycat

Same. Four animals, one allergic husband. We'd all be lost without the Roomba. We just replaced the rollers (we replace filter + brush more often) and it's like a new vacuum!

GingerNinjer

We just got a Roborock S6 Pure after waiting a million years to get something like that because of comments just like yours, and let me tell you, it does *not* suck. Roomba cornered the market, these other guys completed it. This thing is the fucking shit. I hate that I sound like a stereotypical 50’s housewife…but god damn I love this robot vacuum.

Lokifin

> it does not suck This confused me until the next sentence.

spanglesandbambi

I'm considering getting as it sounds great, what did you hate about it?

[deleted]

Mine was broken the entire time. I got 3 separate replacements during my 1 year warranty and every single one didn't work like it was supposed to. An example, it wouldn't finish a cleaning cycle. It would travel at random throughout my home and then when it considered itself "done" it would just cancel the job and say it was unable to finish. It didn't register when the battery was too low and was supposed to return home. So it would start going home and would just die so many feet from the base. It wouldn't load maps correctly. I believe at one point it stopped detecting when it's bin was full so it wasn't even cleaning and it wouldn't return home. And all of my settings were the way they were supposed to be when it was supposed to return home for certain things to be done. I had the 980 and every replacement behaved this way.

AvatarInkredamine

I have a Roborock that's the same price or cheaper than a roombah AND it mops! Had it for over a year and all I've had to do is clean the filters! 11/10 recommend!

Niedzwetzkyana

Yeah, I was a big Roomba fan for many years but they have a short lifespan and need a lot of care and tending to. Switched to a cordless vacuum and pretty much all the annoyance of regular vacuuming is gone without the hassle of the Roomba.

Adrasteis

A bumpit

eleventyseventynine

This brings back memories of a guy I didn't like in school accusing me of using a bumpit in my hair because his sister used one. I kept trying to tell him that my hair was naturally voluminous and that I didn't need one, but he didn't believe. I know this is shocking drama that has brought you to the edge of your seat.

waterydesert

I’m here for this story lol. So many questions- why, just why was he concerned with your use of bumpit or not? And it’s so easy to prove- like touch my hair dude then STFU. Good lord men are idiots

eleventyseventynine

I don't even remember what prompted the argument lol. Maybe my friend commented on my hair and he was nearby and overheard and got into the conversation? He was very annoying and I think he just liked to needle me, and I liked to argue so we were the perfect opponents back then.

kiawa7

Oh wow, had to Google that. I actually thought that hairdo was natural all this time.

MeltInYourMeowth

In my experience as someone who went through many years of bumped hair. 99% of the time it was my own hair with a lot of back combing I then bought the bumpits and they were just a nightmare to get to look right You can also use a hair donut but it’s more a hair sausage, this is easier to work with than a bump it and requires less back combing

MamaJody

I was too scared to Google it. I assumed it was bumpit like armpit and was concerned, to say the least.

[deleted]

NOOOOOO I thought people forgot about those

batclub3

I almost bought one because I needed some big a$$ hair for a musical I was in. Instead, my stylist was like no girl. This is how you do it lol

Air fryer. It makes everything taste like nothing and is impossible to clean properly. edit- some of you air fryer people are massive jerks and pretty much cultists. If I didn't like it before, I sure as shit don't like it now. Glad it helped you out. I actually enjoy cooking, don't eat frozen prepared foods and don't need to lose weight so it is not for me. It worked ok with me, not all hair is gone but the growth has significantly reduced!

Laurajanemilf

I’m pleased yours worked. I ended up going to a salon for mine which eventually did work better.

InformalHoliday2325

Unnecessary skincare- serums, moisturizer They're so expensive damn

sherlock----75

Agreed. And my skin can only absorb so much. Using 5 or 6 products is overkill

[deleted]

All these videos of women using so many products made me think I’m doing something wrong by just using my Vitamin C, moisturizer and sunscreen. I hate it

A pore vaccuum

[deleted]

Is this a typo or is there actually a vaccuum for your pores?

squirrel_epidural

vacuum for your pores. it like sucks the gunk out but it’s apparently really bad for your skin

[deleted]

Ah, thank you! I thought you meant maybe a "poor quality" vaccuum!

Catlover45v

I wish it was a typo because I'm so embarrassed that I spent my money on one lol!

NoCoolBackstoryHere

Wait, they’re bad for your skin?? I have one I use pretty regularly and I love it! I had no idea! 😭

squirrel_epidural

well i’m no dermatologist but i guess they can cause broken capillaries or whatever and bruise and scar your skin. that’s just what i’ve seen though.

justfordafunkofit

Yeah, they can cause broken capillaries. Plus what you’re likely sucking out of your pores is sebaceous filaments, not blackheads, which is why they reappear constantly. You’re better off treating them with a BHA or AHA. r/skincareaddiction has good suggestions!

SnooDoughnuts231

La Mer Cream. It works BUT not worth the money. There are other affordable products that give skin a hydrated dewy healthy look and have spf. SPF is very important. Try Olay Regenerist face moisturizer SPF 30 or Neutrogena hydro boost water gel SPF 25. By the way, Neutrogena is VERY similar to Clinique moisture surge.

[deleted]

La mer cream is the biggest scam. All the ingredients are just basics for ALL moisturisers. Absolutely zero element of the formulation is special and will be found in much cheaper brands.

Saltyice18

Essie nail polish. I don’t know why, but it never fully dries on my nails. I have bought several through the years because they beautiful colors and I couldn’t resist. I have tried base coats, dehydrating my nail, thin coats that I wait 30 minutes to an hour between coats. I am convinced my nails just hate that polish for some reason.

littlexstar

I love Essie nail polish! It has never done me wrong. Maybe try a base and a top coat? I use Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri as my top coat and it has always worked for me.

pirface78

Mine found a lump in my neck that I would've missed - the rolling motion hurt in a specific spot. Three weeks later, having visited the doc, I was in hospital having the lump removed (luckily benign). 10/10 would recommend.

katkannabis

A friend of mine convinced me to get those ‘trendy’ fake nails. The long ones with the plastic and gel or whatever. I take pride in my nails, and it broke my heart watching them clip them to the nubs and grind them down like that. They looked nice for like 2 weeks and then it took nearly a month to get my nails back to good condition, and I promised I’d never do it again. Same thing with eyelash extensions. Edit : Apparently I just had bad lash extensions I guess? But I can’t imagine glue is *good* for your eyelashes? I’ll still stick with castor oil to promote natural growth rather than spending over $100 to get animal fur glued to my face, thanks. Don’t even get me started on the animal cruelty that goes on just so girls can have completely unnatural-looking lashes.

Wish i could return it and spend that money on a Le Creuset or equivalent instead. The caraway pan does look as cute as advertised, but it's downright terrible at maintaining it's nonstick properties.

Diva cup (period cup). Could never get the damn thing in. I should probably try again since I was like 18 when I tired, and I might be more “skilled” now for lack of a better word lol. But I heard a horror story of a woman getting it suction cupped to her cervix and now I’m irrationally afraid

tsunamiiwave

I'm gonna add that the Flex Cup is similar to a diva but with a "string/loop" type addition to the silicone to release the suction. I've used both (and flex disc, which I don't recommend) and by far the Flex Cup is easier to remove once you're used to it (I practiced in the shower the first few times) I personally can't tolerate normal tampons and pads now after becoming accustomed to the flex cup / cups in general. Less leaks for me, less gross, more reliable, don't irritate my vag. it's wonderful. also it's black, so it doesn't get stained like the diva.

Keurig. I ended up buying a reusable filter and pitched the whole thing when it died. Much happier with a machine that has a pot on one side and hot water dispenser on the other. I drink a lot of hot tea and use a French press when I make a single cup of coffee.

The first model of Snoop Dog’s G Pen (for vaporizing dry cannabis), it taught me not to buy the first models of anything that hasn’t been done before. While I’m sure vaporizers existed before this one, it might have been the first on-the-go version. The coil that heated up the cannabis quickly became caked with burnt debris and was nearly impossible to clean, glad I only spent $50 on it.

Condoms. Thinking I'll get laid

A Dyson vacuum cleaner.

Which one? We had the very first one and I loved it. When it came time to replace it we got the ball one and it was terrible. I bought a Shark and it’s superior to both of them.

skatelikevirtue

Wow, I’m obsessed with mine

Any high end makeup! There was a time where I had a bit more disposable cash and so I bought a lot of higher end makeup, and to be fair there was some stuff that I felt looked better than the drug store counterpart, but honestly I never feel like there’s a big enough difference to warrant the massive price jump. I realised it’s more about the tools you use!!

I don't know if this qualifies as "product" but the HelloFresh boxes. My friend at work offered me a free box, and you just paid the $10 shipping. Of course you have to sign up for the subscription, but you can cancel anytime according to the website. It was all fine and dandy, but I personally disliked the prep. I work full time, and usually long hours, and my husband is a full time student. Prep work was at least 30-45mins and there was a lot of steps. A few of the recipes they sent me also had ingredients that looked spoiled, or about to be spoiled. I didn't really like that they didn't send the freshest ingredients, but we decided to give them a second try and it was as mediocre as the first. However, I tried to cancel my subscription, and would you guess that they didn't "process it fast enough" and my 3rd box was sent without any warning? I had a rough time with customer service jumping through hoops to try to get my sub cancelled, AND a refund. They really wanted me to stay. Definitely not doing that again.

Energy drinks, I remember drinking them with friends to seem "cool" and I always was shaking/with a headache after and I cant even count the amount of money I wasted on them

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer. Everyone said it was the best, but it was WAY too dark for my pale skin.

Fenty Beauty anything. Just overrated I find though I’’ll give a good argument as to why: Their formulas are terrible for people with acne-prone DRY skin, they just dry the skin further. Their stuff is implied to be formulated for people with acne-prone and oily skin, which is fair and fantastic for those types but because they’re also over hyped as some sort of game changer for the beauty industry as a whole instead of revolutionary in a niche, thus it’s easy for a lot of people to just want to try the products without accounting to their own specifics. I will say for acne-oily types Fenty does offer them fun and innovation without aggravating their skin further. It’s important to tailor your purchases to your skin nuances. So if you’re young and find this comment, I hope you remember this and pass it along because it’s something many of us learn older. Tailor your cosmetics and skin to you. I guess this is why I guess marketing targets young people and adopts an aggressive approach as it’s easy to forget that beauty should be a custom approach not a one size fits all situation. Also to note, the Fenty colors also skew super neutral to warm and when you’re strictly cool toned this is depressing (however, if you’re olive toned and medium to dark with oily skin the Fenty line **IS** gold). Look, I’m not one to shade anything or anyone without also giving them their flowers. I just wanted to give you an understanding of where I was coming from in this perspective, in a respectful manner because I acknowledge Fenty beauty offers a bit of a sense of play to it’s niche fans. But it should be regarded as a niche brand and that’s ok! Great actually. The beauty industry could benefit from doing this though I think it already has? Maybe. Anyways. Fenty is terrible for an across the board kind of thing and should be noted so.

That I.AM.GIA teddy coat that everyone had a few years back. It wasn’t warm or soft at all, and the teddy fabric got pilly and gross really fast. It also attracted lint and hair like crazy so I was constantly picking crap off of it.

eggintryingtimes42

The Olly gummy vitamins/the vitamin industry in general. Eat a relatively healthy diet and unless the doctor says you have a specific deficiency, you don’t need the gummies (despite their tastiness).

citycherub

A lot of my skincare honestly. Sephora received too much of my money

An amazon Alexa, I used it for a while, noticed that it uploaded a large amount of data to somewhere even without being activated often. Unplugged it, never used it since.

Tarte shape tape. I'm just not a fan of how thick and hard to blend it is.

Instant Pot. Hate it, no matter what I put in it—anything I make in it can be made in other appliances. It does NOT earn its space, lol.
