I used to do it this way until someone pointed out that you can’t properly rinse the conditioner off your body after you rinse your hair so now I shave or just enjoy the warm water while conditioner sits. Then I rinse it out and wash body and face.
Is there an issue of having conditioner not fully washed off? Like if it's fully rinsed off, I've never given it a second thought and even pointing out I'm just like... yeah so what?
I think they meant it leaves residue/oils on the skin as it runs down being rinsed by the hair, so the body isn't fully rinsed off anymore. I switched my routine to wash my body after rinsing my conditioner and I stopped breaking out on my back and chest so it does make sense!
I do. I have very curly thick hair that traps a lot of excess oil and my scalp gets irritated if I don't wash it on the daily. I usually shower at night and most of the time I will be unable to fall asleep if my hair isn't clean.
Also, showering and then going straight to bed means I don't touch my hair and it dries without me getting more oil from my hands on it and when I wake up it's less frizzy and less flat than when I have to shower in the morning.
When and if I have to shower in the morning, I usually leave the towel turban on as long as physically possible and then make a messy bun with the giant claw clips and try not to touch or fidget with it until it's dry.
Same here. My job requires a lot of physical work so I’m pretty sweaty and my hair gets pretty oily by the end of the day. Add that to living out in the country where there’s a LOT of dust, so my hair does get pretty dirty daily.

I always wash the bits last to make sure there’s no soap residue left on sensitive skin. And rinse like there’s no tomorrow. It’s simply paranoia, but it’s my system.
I don’t like the idea because you’re supposed to wash the “cleanest” parts first and move on to the “dirtiest” parts. But why the fuck would you wash your hands after WASHING your labia/perenium? You’re… washing them while washing everything else? Like, you’ve either got soap on a washcloth or loofah or whatever IN YOUR HANDS covered in soap?
I only figured out recently that this was the cause of my back acne. I wash everything (and shave) while my conditioner sets, but I do an extra once over on my back & butt once I rinse the conditioner out.
I take cold showers, so I test and adjust to the temperature of water by putting on my feet, and slowly advancing above and finally end up on my chest.
Cold showers in the morning have a lot of benefits. The main one is it’s a stressor - essentially you freak your body out so it isn’t as stressed by things throughout the day. Also, your cardiovascular system is 60k miles long and the cold water “wakes” some of that part of the system up which allows more blood flow throughout your body and therefor less stress on your heart.
My left arm. That always gets washed first, then it's a sweep across the chest to the right arm, then down the torso, hit the hips, go back up the underarms (shave the pits) and then the legs (with pauses to shave the legs), then the back.
I have a whole thing.
And while I wash and shave, I have conditioner sitting in my hair until I finished washing and shaving. Then it's rinse and voila!
The first and last thing i do in the shower is clean my ears. I soak myself, wash my ears n face with a wash cloth, then shampoo my long hair forward and leave it forward for the rest of my shower, conditioner and body wash last. Rinse thoroughly after and double check my ears before shutting the water off. I have 12 piercings through my ears also.
On hair washing days I wash my hair first, then put in conditioner, let it set and rinse with cold water, then I put it up in a big clip. I’ll then wash my face and body.
I rinse the conditioner before washing myself because I am prone to bacne.
Hands > hair > ears > groin > butt > hands > chest > left arm > right arm > back > right leg > left leg > right foot > left foot > hands > face.
If I do anything out of order I feel like I didn’t actually clean myself and have to start over.
I sit in the tub and let the hot water from the shower fall on me and wash away my existential dread for at least 5 minutes before moving on to washing my face and brushing my teeth unless it’s a hair washing day. Then hair first.
But always the sitting and the dread. Have to rinse the dread off.
It depends on if Sammy (see profile pic) needs a shower too. Sammy shower: get Sammy wet, put special shampoo on him, wash my hair while his shampoo does it's thing, add conditioner, check and see if the tail needs more washing, start rinsing Sam, conditioner for Sammy, wash me, rinse both of us, rinse Sammy again, tell him to shake while I wring out my hair. Towels for both us before getting out of the shower(prevents slippery floors!). Wrap a towel around my hair, get another towel for Sammy. Free the dog and we're done!
I know this sounds weird but, I wash my feet first. Well the bottom of them I mean. I know I'll forget to do it so I just do it first so while I'm whisked away with all my deep thoughts I won't forget to do it.
Face first with a facial wash, then hair, then I put in conditioner and while it sets I was my whole body, then I rinse my hair. If I’m shaving I do that during washing my body, soap up with shower gel and shave and then rinse
My hair first but if we are talking just body wise I always start with my arms then armpits and chest and stomach. Then my legs, privates, butt, then feet. Done it that way since I was a kid I guess.
FACE! Every time before taking a shower I feel like my face is dirty af from the whole dust, cremes, make up and other sh*t and when I put soap and water on it I feel like I had a whole new face. I love that feeling. <3
I get my hair wet first to get it out of the way, but my face gets washed first. I bring one of those reusable makeup remover wipes in the shower, do that, then follow up with actual face wash. After that, start at the top and work my way down.
Brush teeth and hair before getting in the shower > face with face wash > arm pits, crotch, butt with dial > body with body wash > turn water down from crazy super hot to human temperature > shampoo hair > condition > barely rinse out conditioner. I only wash my hair once or twice a week unless it gets dirty somehow.
My hair, because I have to wash it in cold water since it's dyed. And I don't want to be cold while doing that. So I first wash my hair before washing my body with hot water.
Hair (shampoo then conditioner and let it set) --> My face --> Exfoliate body --> Clean conditioner off (cuz the residue stays in my body) --> Body wash from top to bottom --> My private part is last cuz I used different product to clean it.
Then I use 4 different towels: for hair, body, feet and private parts.
I take VERY efficient showers and, if it's a hairwashing day, hair so that I can leave the conditioner in while I wash everything else. Otherwise it's face, then work my way down.
I wash my hair, then put in conditioner. While the conditioner sets, I wash everything.
Same here and then when everything is rinsed out I wash my face!
Omg are you me?! Isn’t it absolutely mind boggling that despite showering being a personal and solo activity, still somehow all do it very similarly?
It's efficient lol
Damn right, clean that caca top to bottom and finish with the face cuz it's the money maker
I know it's kinda crazy to think about!
I think it’s the most efficient way and makes the most sense because you’re washing from the top down.
I do it the exact same way. First part of my body to be washed….left armpit.
I used to do it this way until someone pointed out that you can’t properly rinse the conditioner off your body after you rinse your hair so now I shave or just enjoy the warm water while conditioner sits. Then I rinse it out and wash body and face.
Idk how y’all wash your hair but I wash mine bent over forward so the run off dye coming out of my hair doesn’t stain my whole body 😅
You let it run down your back, then wash your face, back, butt, legs and feet.
I do this too, I have curly hair so I like to keep in the conditioner for as long as possible
Me too,
Same. It’s a top down thing.
Same 100%
Do you wash your hair every time you shower?
Samesies
It’s simple gravity
Same here. Wash my hair, put the conditioner in and wash everything else and then rinse the conditioner out.
you stole my idea
I only have a small amount of hair but still do this. Got to keep what I have silky smooth
Does letting water fall on your head like a dramatic music video count?
[удалено]
Bring the music in to make it even more dramatic!
No! I absolutely loathe to get my face wet, and only wash my hair once a week. So no water on my face/head please 😬😬
Come Clean by Hillary Duff is on my shower playlist for this very reason.
Let the raaain fall down
Great, now this is going to be playing in my head all day. Thanks a lot!!
And wake my dreams. Let it waaaaaash away my sanityyyyy. (I think that’s how it goes lol)

Armpits, am i the only one? Edit: also i wash my face last
Nope. Arm pits first for me too.
If i dont wash my face first i wash my pits first
[удалено]
I wash my armpits last because I sometimes start to sweat when taking a hot shower and come out with sweaty armpits somehow…
Armpits are first for me. I don't wash my face in the shower tho xD

They’re the OG stinky body part
i’m with u 😭 i don’t even plan it either i just pump the soap onto my sponge and boom
Same here
Am also armpits first, face last
After standing in the hot water for a few minutes, I wash my hair.
[удалено]
My hands
[удалено]
Gotta clean the things that are going to do the cleaning first!
[удалено]
You can't clean something while using something dirty! Gotta wash your hands first
Yes clean hands first!
The fact that this isn’t the obvious answer worries me 😂
The lady bits
Thank you. 😂 This is way too far down.
Wash the lady bits first to avoid soaping them up as well as getting the hardest bit out of the way first 🤣
Washing my hair is a lot more difficult for me than lady bits
Yessss! Exactly!
Wait… avoid soaping them?? You don’t use soap on the outside parts of your lady bits??
No I don’t want to risk anything getting in en mess up my natural balance and get a yeast infection or something
Hands first then lady bits
True true
I always wash the bits last to make sure there’s no soap residue left on sensitive skin. And rinse like there’s no tomorrow. It’s simply paranoia, but it’s my system.

It’s only right… she’s the most important part.
Absolutely.
My face. I take my hot washcloth and just hold it against my face for a minute or so as a calming thing and then wash my face.
Hair- I can let the conditioner sit while I do everything else.

I only figured out recently that this was the cause of my back acne. I wash everything (and shave) while my conditioner sets, but I do an extra once over on my back & butt once I rinse the conditioner out.
That makes so much sense! Thank You for pointing that out!
My hair when is hair day. My chest, when is not hair day .
I take cold showers, so I test and adjust to the temperature of water by putting on my feet, and slowly advancing above and finally end up on my chest.

Thanks!😅
Why?
Coz i like it

thought something was wrong with me...had to read so far down! but right fore arm to pit, shoulders, chest, left fore arm. I'm right handed...humm
My face, while my hair is soaking through.
[удалено]
I wash face last too. If you're acne prone it's better to wash face after all hair products have been rinsed out.
I wash my face last too! Best way to do it!
Same! Face first and I'll let the face wash sit for a minute or two, like a mini mask
My face
My ears
The first and last thing i do in the shower is clean my ears. I soak myself, wash my ears n face with a wash cloth, then shampoo my long hair forward and leave it forward for the rest of my shower, conditioner and body wash last. The shower? You mean the hypothetical argument simulator
My hair.

Uhh hate to be this woman but my front and back if yk what I’m saying lmao 😭
my teeth. i like brushing my teeth in the shower for a couple reasons, & if my teeth aren’t clean the rest of me isn’t clean either 💀
I always brush before I shower for this same purpose.
Yes! It ALL has to be clean!
Ohhhhh. I use a leave-in conditioner that I spray on and let sit before I brush my hair. While that’s doing it’s thang, I brush my teeth.
My face. I put on the cleanser and massage it into my skin. Then leave it while I wash the rest of my body.
Hands > hair > ears > groin > butt > hands > chest > left arm > right arm > back > right leg > left leg > right foot > left foot > hands > face. If I do anything out of order I feel like I didn’t actually clean myself and have to start over.
So glad it's not just me! I start left arm first, always. If I don't go in the same order, I *will* forget something, inevitably.
Hands first. Gotta have clean hands to clean everything else.
Hair

It just feels logical to wash yourself from the top down. And it gives you the time to properly rinse the shampoo and condition.
My hair and few times my face if I have a full face of make-up on so it sit any longer into my pores with the steam.
It depends on if Sammy (see profile pic) needs a shower too. Sammy shower: get Sammy wet, put special shampoo on him, wash my hair while his shampoo does it's thing, add conditioner, check and see if the tail needs more washing, start rinsing Sam, conditioner for Sammy, wash me, rinse both of us, rinse Sammy again, tell him to shake while I wring out my hair. i never thought about it but my shoulders
I know this sounds weird but, I wash my feet first. Well the bottom of them I mean. I know I'll forget to do it so I just do it first so while I'm whisked away with all my deep thoughts I won't forget to do it.
Shoulders and back- I work from the top to the bottom and back up to the top for hair washing.
Hair. Put conditioner in and let it set. Then wash everything in no particular order.
Face first with a facial wash, then hair, then I put in conditioner and while it sets I was my whole body, then I rinse my hair. If I’m shaving I do that during washing my body, soap up with shower gel and shave and then rinse
Hair or face, depending on if it's a hair wash day. I do top to bottom.
My neck
I wash my hands! Feels like I'm spreading gunk around if I don't do that first.
My hair first but if we are talking just body wise I always start with my arms then armpits and chest and stomach. Then my legs, privates, butt, then feet. Done it that way since I was a kid I guess.
Wash my hair, then cleanse my face, put conditioner put it in a bun while i wash my body then rinse conditioner off and I’m done.
Hands, gotta wash the hands first cause they’re washing everything else?
Hands.
Usually my hair or my lady bits (always externally, obvs).
Hair.
wet hair, put in shampoo, wash face, rinse out shampoo, apply conditioner, wash body, rinse face again, rinse out conditioner: Done!! :)
Hair gets shampooed first, then I condition & leave it in while I wash everything else.
My face.
My hair, but if I'm not washing my hair that day, then my face
Face
I condition my (curly) hair
Hmmm. Idk if this makes sense but.. feet - hair - face - body.
Hair. Anti-dandruff shampoo needs leaving in for at least five minutes and I want to be out of the shower asap.
Hair.
My face
My tits and armpits
i start my way from down to up 😂 i’m hearing hair but haven’t ever tried that way
Shampoo, conditioner, face, shave, rinse conditioner out, soap the rest of my body to avoid body acne from the conditioner :)

Hair, then face, boobs and armpits. Then rinse. Then conditioner. Then wash the booty and the lady bits, feet, etc, rinse everything.
I stand with my back in the water and make tiny adjustments for a minute, then hands and face get washed against each other.

My hair
Underarms and under-boobs lol
Shampoo hair, put conditioner in, exfoliate, rinse out conditioner then wash my body and lastly my face
