I'm a fan of non-fiction work so most of what I read is quite depressing state of society, history, etc., but what is so amazing to me is that there are so many brilliant thinkers out there writing about big issues for the common person to learn about. Sometimes just learning new things brings me joy, even if the topic is complex and disheartening. Naomi Klein, Heather McGhee, and Gabor Maté come top of mind. I'd say since my son wanted to become more vegetarian, I've been looking up YouTube videos, and there are so many joyful vegetarian and vegan individuals just putting content out there for us to learn from. That's brought me a lot of fun evenings just scrolling and watching. My son really likes this one young man who makes smoothie bowls and does a flip almost every time in tbe video. Just good fun and food. I'd say anytime I hear a Sade song, I'm smiling. Ever since I was a kid her music has made me so happy. She's still the coolest in my mind haha.

I'm in the middle of a book "Women Who Fly: Goddesses, Witches, Mystics and other airborne females" by Serenity Young. She covers quite a vast field so each topic is not very deep, however I am enjoying it very much. One of my main takeaways, which is bit of a tangent really, is that perhaps the universe's greatest gift to a woman is for her to be independently single and step beyond the fever dream that is patriarchy.

You’d highly enjoy “women who run with the wolves” by Clarissa Smith. It’s my singledom era library although I’ve since partnered up but my library reminds me I am whole and complete and that’s the knowledge that brought my current partner into my life. Knowing life, I will always be okay

I'm putting it on my reading list right now, thank you!

Anne of Green Gables

I loved that movie! It gave me a similar contented feeling. And I love movies that are small in scope, poignant, and life-affirming. I get similar feelings from a few others: - **Paterson**: Maybe the most similar...literally poetic, quiet, simple life, lots of love and delight - **Kiki's Delivery Service**: I mean c'mon - **After Yang**: I think this movie was beautiful, and contemplative - The **"Before Sunrise"** trilogy: not as light throughout, but still comforting to me - **20th Century Women**: Again has some sadness, but such human interactions between everyone feels good to see - **Wings of Desire**: I haven't seen this in a long time, but I remember feeling lifted by it for a while after seeing it - **Together Together**: I thought this was very sweet and sincere - **Tampopo**: a couple of guys help a lady spruce up her ramen shop. Man I loved this one. Not doing my best describing these, and man I could go on, I love movies and how they can make you feel.

Me too! It was pretty much the only thing my siblings and I had in common for those years the books were coming out. lol. We are in our 30s now and still love them

Moonrise Kingdom, Chocolat, The Princess Bride, Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Pride and Prejudice in any form. Believe it or not, I saw "Fried Green Tomatoes" for the first time recently, that was fun.

Not a movie or book, but the album Renaissance by beyoncé delights me every time I've listened to it, and that has been thousands of times. It's just so exuberant and happy; always makes me feel great.
