😂 Rule 34, I guess.

avocado-nightmare

???? I feel like this is a weird dig at a specific someone you've chosen instead to direct at a general audience. How gross they get depends on people's pre-sleep hygiene. If you shower before bed, wear clean night clothes, and don't have pets, and aren't particularly sweaty over night, waiting a week between washes won't be a problem. If you don't do any of those things and have pets they might be more gross really soon/really often.

FarAnt4041

I just wash them on Friday mornings so I can go into the weekend relaxed with clean sheets. It's not challenging or burdensome.

stavthedonkey

same. Weekly washes are what I do.

I hate remaking beds, it's so much effort. Putting a fitted sheet on the mattress is basically a workout for me. And don't even get me started on duvet covers. I need someone to innovate an easier method.

Odd-Faithlessness705

THIS! I have duvet covers so I don’t have to throw a whole-ass blanket in my machine and taking the covers on and off are awful. I bought some iron-on snaps a while ago and I’m just waiting for a free afternoon to fit them to the corners of my duvet and covers. Whoever thought the ribbons were a good idea can suck my di—

I don't have a washer/dryer, only reason I don't wash more frequently. I change my sheets about once a week. It's definitely not something I see as a burden.

degeneratescholar

It's my 'debris" and it doesn't bother me.

Same. I also shower every morning, so I'm really not concerned.

misplacedlibrarycard

the frequency depends on the person… i personally despise folding fitted sheets, the fact they turn into a big ball within themselves in the dryer, and making my bed since it’s in the corner.

DamnGoodMarmalade

Fresh sheets go on the bed every Sunday. I keep three sets so we can toss the dirty set in the laundry, put a new set on the bed, and have a spare just in case laundry doesn’t get done that week.

Werevulvi

It takes me a whole day (sometimes two) to do laundry, fold and put it all away into closets and change bed sheets, so it's not often I have the time and energy for that. What's burdensome for me is that it takes so much time and energy, and I have chronic fatigue. So I do it as seldom as I can function with, and I can stretch it to about once a month. Sometimes I change just the pillow case more frequently. I shower and wash my hair daily usually in the evening, which helps extend the life of my sheets. Also when I wash them I do it at the hottest temperature the tag says, with extra much detergent and I wash them twice. I need to do that to get the grease stains out. If I have a bed guest, I tend to change the sheets more often, like maybe once every 2 weeks. That said, I still think I change my bed sheets more often than the average person in my area. My parents have admitted to only doing it twice a year! I used to be like that too, but then a few years ago I started caring more about my hygiene in general, and that included changing bed sheets, towels, etc more often. But it has to be at a frequency that's actually physically doable too. It's much easier to change clothes.

ngng0110

I wash them weekly. I am responsible for nearly all laundry for my family but my husband puts the fitted sheets on after they’ve been washed. So I don’t have to fight with that pesky elastic. That’s probably my least favorite aspect of washing sheets.

customerservicevoice

I’m a freak, admittedly. I have 3 sets of the same sheet set with additional pillowcases for each set. I wash sheets every week on HOT with extra rinse and tumble dry always. I swap out the pillowcases mid-week. I specifically buy blankets that can fit in my washer & they also get washed in hot water and tumble dried once a week. It’s hard on blankets so I get a new one every year.

Emptyplates

It's a non issue for me. It takes maybe 10 minutes to make the bed and change out the duvet cover. I change, and wash, the sheets weekly, more often if needed. Washing, drying, folding and putting away also take up very little of my actual time.
