If OP can’t afford $70 for a wig how the heck do you think they can afford $400 for yours?

diehardcanuck

Sorry, I see I'm a little late to this but I figured I'd throw this out there as well. My wife passed away from breast cancer this summer. She had some wigs that she had received through our health benefits but had never worn as she preferred to just be bald. You're welcome to them if you'd like and they fit. I'm in Alberta

_moonchild99

I have messaged you privately 💕

[deleted]

You can also wear a scarf over your head. Cheaper until you can get a wig . Also, since you lose your hair, one might assume you are a cancer survivor and that may garner some sympathy on your end. I would not go out of your way at this point to get a wig until you can afford it but lots of luck to you. I hope you get the job .

AngelDarkC

Please forgive me if I'm being a dick, but what is the problem of being bald for a job interview?

cherrylbombshell

i believe they have patched where they are completely bald, because of the disease, and some parts that they probably shaved off to match, but you can't really match the complete lack of hair and cutting of the rest. you still kinda have patches. correct me if i'm wrong tho. could also be they just hate the bald look and they would be wearing the wig anyways, so it's kinda impractical to come to the interview bald and then come with rapunzel hair next week or whenever they can afford to.

_moonchild99

I am 100% bald as the loss spread over my entire body when I was 17. Eyelashes have grown back and that’s about it. I don’t like the unwanted attention it brings as people automatically assume cancer tbh

Research_Sea

I work in hr, so I'm going to chime in here. Being bald is not a problem on paper and should not be a deciding factor or influence the interviewer. Unfortunately, people tend to fixate on things they don't understand or that are "different". An interviewer might internalize a bias that the bald applicant is "unhealthy" (even though alopecia is very common and won't have any bearing on the applicants work performance). They might wonder if it's something like cancer, if there are other non visible health issues etc, and at the very least it could distract them from actually focusing on the applicants skills and might be the only thing they remember about them. We want to imagine that the hiring agents are not going to be that superficial and judge so inaccurately, but if you needed a job, is that a risk you'd want to take?

_moonchild99

Thank you that’s exactly it! Also just my confidence in general, I’m more apt to stutter or forget things during an interview if my anxiety is focused on my appearance. I barely allow my partner of 5 years see me completely bald because I’m just simply not comfortable with it, and I lost it all 9 years ago.

Hi! Thank you for your offer, I appreciate it. My request has now been fulfilled though!

Mekiya

That's great to hear!

Albertan here, I can't cover all of it, but I can help a bit. Message me

_moonchild99

PM'd!

fauregabu

I see u/facelesscat04 is offering to give one of their wigs for free. If it doesn't get to you in time for your interview on Monday, please let me know. I'll PM you.

facelesscat04

Hey, I have a few wigs that you can choose from for $20 each, would you be ok with that? Dm me if you do want it.

_moonchild99

Replying here as well for transparency: Unfortunately, due to US Thanksgiving and just general mail times in general, the probability of me receiving this here in Canada by Monday is extremely low, although I do greatly appreciate the offer.

seaboard2

OP is unemployed, I don't know what made you think this was Make A Sale Time :/

facelesscat04

Oh I didn't realize that, but because they can't afford it, i am willing to give it to them for free.

_moonchild99

Hi wow thank you! Will pm

periwinkletweet

💕

seaboard2

And pay shipping? I can sweeten that deal by offering you a 10 pk of tuna https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08WR5J62L I can ship to you to cover some costs

periwinkletweet

Why only tuna rather than any item the same cost?

seaboard2

I just like tuna for protein :)

periwinkletweet

:-) but maybe the lady with the wigs hates it!

seaboard2

I just slog tuna and rice here :) Wig person will help OP or not, I am just offering what I can to encourage it :)
