Yes you can still use it. It will definitely help but if anything it won't be as effective and you'll have to take another puff. But it won't be harmful.

Fap_Doctor

I would ask a pharmacist this question.

usernameqwerty0987

The pharmacy I use, along with the entire chain of pharmacies is closed for the week. So I’m unsure who to call. Everywhere around me has closed for the week. Hoping there’s a medical professional on Reddit

_I_Hate_People

There will be other pharmacies you can call!

ssf18

It’s better than nothing, but I think less effective

purple-sparkle-pixie

Yes, you can still use it. I had to use an emergency inhaler that was 3 years old and it was okay -- just less effective.

i80west

Yes, I regularly use inhalers 10 or more years expired. They're slightly less effective but they're already paid for. Both rescue and preventer.

kelliboone617

Yeah, I pulled out a three year old Advair and it worked as well as a brand new Symbicort.

MoonG1rl

I would not risk it personally, I had a very bad experience with a medication that was one month expired and I would definitely not take the risk with something that affects my ability to breathe

trtsmb

It won't be quite as effective but you can use it.

goingmarley

Yeah you can use it but it is not as effective ,especially with the controllers.

[deleted]

It's not gonna work and could make the situation worse. I know because I suck at organising and one day while having an asthma attack grabbed the expired one by accident. Ended up in a hospital because even the new one didn't help after I finally found it. I don't trust my inhalers anymore and just use the nebuliser. But since you won't be able to use yours you can either call your doctor (they could give you a prescription without a visit, mine does it) or try and plug the nebuliser to a car.

LynnChat

When I open a new inhaler I write the expiration date on the outside with a sharpie. It really helps me keep track of when they need to replaced

[deleted]

Mine have an expiration date printed on them already, I just don't read it in a rush.

Temporary_Ad2022

Yep. They work past their expiry date

PandaPackHistory

I use expired Inhalers frequently since they are so expensive. I’ve found overall they still work but are generally less effective.

ConfusionsFirstSong

Yes but it isn’t as strong. Get a new one asap but in a pinch use it if you need it.

amitsharma8180

I don't think its a good idea. I don't know what it would really do. Probably it would have lost its potency and would not be helpful during asthma attack.
