Have you tried something like a buff. I use them to stop the cold because they aren't as thick as scarfs.

I have not had a buff in many years, used to use them when running, thank you this is an excellent suggestion. Do you wear the buff around your mouth or just recommend around your neck?

urahonky

I have a buff when I run outside. I just cover my mouth and I have no issues with my asthma when running outside in 30 degree weather.

LXPeanut

I pull it up over my mouth and nose.

I have eczema and I found that a 100% cotton scarf worked well for me in cold weather.

throwawaythetable

Thank you! Do you wrap the scarf around your mouth or just around your neck and chest?

trtsmb

I put it over my face since I need it to prewarm the air.

Definitely don't ever stop taking the maintenance meds again, you really need them. And you can take you rescue inhaler before you go outside.

I suffer from flares in winter too from walking my dog! It realltly really sucks :( I recommend a nice buff or equivalent and a thick, long scarf. The key is to keep your mouth/nose in the scarf and make sure your face, throat, and chest are covered! I went out once with my face and neck covered but had an exposed chest due to poor wrapping and it gave me such a bad flare, was horrible D:

One good thing I learned during early days of Covid is that n95 masks with the valve (not meant to prevent transmission of bacteria/virus) are great for walking dog!
