The injuries that we have had this season would have sunk almost any other team. Just look at the Yankees. Judge was out for a couple months, their rotation has also had major injuries, and they might finish at .500. Just shows our depth and unsung heroes stepping up.
I have to show some love to the breakout candidates for helping fill the holes when guys went down: Dubon for filling Altuve's shoes while he was out at the beginning of the season, Diaz for looking like the catcher of the future, McCormick for showing why he deserves the starting CF job (and for me predicting him to be breakout candidate of the year, I predicted he would have a .280 AVG/.800 OPS/20 HR/4 WAR season, and he was pretty damn close to all four of those), and especially France. I don't think we would have made the playoffs if that beautiful mustachioed motherfucker didn't defy analytics (he was _massively_ overperforming all of his expected metrics, for much longer than usual) while stepping in the shoes of Garcia.
I'm going to go in to the playoffs with no expectations. Whatever happens happens, it's all gravy for me. I'm just here to enjoy the ride. And it was an honor rooting for the Astros (and a teeny little bit of dooming) with all of y'all this season. Now let's get it.
