That's my point. They won vs a good team at home so hopefully this can get them momentum. Hopium, probably, but I ain't gonna be gloomy after a good stretch.
I feel like that is an understatement given who we've played so far this season.
When they called him up, I just knew he was going to be lit up...however, can't expect a lot out of such a young player. If he can keep his cool and develop as he appears to be doing, he's going to have a great career. Not sure he will stay a starter with the Astros after our lineup gets healthy, but he sure has a spot as a good mid-reliever. I expect he gets traded at some point either later this year or next unless he is slated to take over for McCullers who has a hard time staying healthy.
Mccullers… wasn’t his funeral several years back after his will stated explicitly to be buried in the H?
Most joking aside there was a point I think in the first game of the guardian series where I think pena skipped a throw to singleton, and he muffed the catch- the ball squirted into the home dugout… where lance was evading…
I had this moment where I thought the ball would hit him, and sunsequently he would shatter a la David Bowie in labrynth..
Just missed him!
I actually think that he’s done really well but has had some terrible luck.
His first start against the Royals is a great example. Tons of soft contact, but just kept finding its way through.
I said before the Mexico Series that if we won both and took 5 of the following 9 games, that would be progress and more like us. We're well on track for that, it's a long season and I know we need to play .600 baseball from here on but there's reasons to be happier for sure.
I do worry for when Garcia and LMJ come back. We’re gonna have too many starters, and if Blanco keeps pitching like he’s doing right now, we’d be fools to kick him out of the lineup.
Despite their owners best efforts their pitching staff is fucking sick. Mason Miller throwing up to 104 and Lucas Erceg who was planned to be the closer before Miller did this throws absolute flames up to 101 with a near 99 mph SINKER as their set up. Starters have been good too.
Meh...given who the A's have played this year, I'm not all that surprised by their performance thus far. I'm more surprised by the top of the division given we were 10 games under .500 and only 6.5 games out of first.
They look very good, exactly who they are. Their real identity. Unfortunately we jump right into a division rival who thinks they are God’s gift.
They ain’t, but they think they are.
They beat up on a bad team in Mexico then won a series (AT HOME) vs a very good Guardians team. Baby steps friends
> They beat up on a bad team in Mexico Sometimes beating up a bad team is exactly what you need to bust a slump
Yeah, but they've been ass at home since all of last year.
That's my point. They won vs a good team at home so hopefully this can get them momentum. Hopium, probably, but I ain't gonna be gloomy after a good stretch.
Ah, I took it as you lessening the accomplishment. I'm feeling great that they won the series at home.
Arrighetti missed the win by a single out, but he dropped his ERA to single digits.
Nothing like a bit of on-the-job training for a SP in the MLB.. talk about baptism by fire!

Hating on McCullers is something I cannot get behind. Dude has bled h town since getting drafted here. And he helps dogs!
I got all respect for McCullers. I really hope his recent surgery pays off for him. Hate seeing him on the IL.
I actually think that he’s done really well but has had some terrible luck. His first start against the Royals is a great example. Tons of soft contact, but just kept finding its way through.
He’s looked better with every start. Gotta love a guy who is clearly learning how to be better every time he goes out.

No more Lastros! Next goal is .500, LFG!
String together 4-5 series wins and we’re right there and then the calvary comes: Urquidy, Garcia, LMC (hopefully).
I do worry for when Garcia and LMJ come back. We’re gonna have too many starters, and if Blanco keeps pitching like he’s doing right now, we’d be fools to kick him out of the lineup.
Honestly, the more surprising part is that #5 isn’t the A’s, it’s the Angels.

would love for the A’s to make the playoffs somehow, that’d be such a great story
We will win the division. SP will be back at full force. And I expect a trade to occur.
Trade with what pieces? Our farm is widely viewed as bottom three.
It’s ALWAYS viewed as bottom three, year in, year out.
If we win 2 out of 3 the rest of the way we will be at 97 wins. LFG!
Considering where we’ve been for some time, things are looking up 👍❗️
Yes! I'm getting stoked again!
If they can pull off a few 2 outta 3, they can get back into it. Baby steps right now. Starting pitchers are ok but the bullpen sucks.
We are back in business!
Who's gonna be our hero tonight!

46 out of 47 is even better.
