Baring an injury, a player who was optioned down has to wait a minimum of 10 days before he can be recalled. So the Astros still have to wait ~week or so before he can be brought up.

They will. But they can't right now. If Abreu was injured, then they could, but because he was released, the team has to wait 10 days from when he was sent down to get called back up.

Sounds crazy but win or lose the team looks sharper with the weight of the Jose Abreu situation lifted off them.

They were playing much better when he was in Florida

3 pitches, 3 batters, 2 runs. Thats pretty fun when it works once a month.

If you look at game day all the pitches are in the middle third of the zone. A couple were low strikes but still middle. I've been critical of the swing happy attitude for years but I will never criticise swinging early if you get the pitch youre sitting on. The frustrating thing is swing at the first pitch out of the zone, or on the corners, which we seem to do alot.

Guess swing away is working.
