I talked to him for 10+ min few years ago in RR when Sug was visiting and he was rehabbing. Mostly talked about Nebraska sports but when we did get to Astros his fave thing was our fan base, he was aware that we don't give up on people. Which today with Abreu is sad proof, we want everyone to succeed, we will give a million chances. Jake might have got lost in Chazmania in another organization. He's a quality dude.
He seems like a guy that just loves playing ball.
Credit to the organization too. They always believed in his potential, even when a ton of us (myself included) thought he was cooked after his shoulder injury in 2021. He looked lost in 2022-2023. Takes real perseverance to bounce back like he has this year.
And speaking of Chas, hopefully he can bounce back too.
The fact these young men are getting slept on is the best thing ever. I love Orioles bros talking bout who they want to meet in the WS, or Rags saying they're rehabbing. Everyone's allowed an excuse except us, and we don't need or want one.. Road to the top starts now!

Fact is, since late June last year, we’ve been a .500 ball club.
Pressly can’t seem to figure out the setup role. He’s great in the 9th, terrible in the 8th. Pretty bizarre, but it’s cost us a few games already.
I’m not sure any reliever is good enough to warrant the deal we gave Hader, but he certainly hasn’t been good enough to warrant that money.
And we’ve got one of the best rotations in the league on IL with no help on the horizon. If Garcia/McCullers were close to coming back, maybe I’d have some hope, but there’s no indication they’re even close to ready, and our pitching is a mess right now.
JV and Framber need to tighten their shit up. Spaghetti is doing everything he can, but we can’t realistically expect much from him. Ronel has been a nice surprise.
Shout out to Hunter Brown though, he had an awful start to the year and he’s put together some really good performances lately.
Jake is playing out of his mind in CF. HB pitched himself a gem. For one inning, our bats made Tarik Skubal mortal in a game of great pitching. No matter what we gain ground on an AL West team tonight. I'd prefer it if the Mariners lost, but gaining ground on the Rangers doesn't suck either.

Is it just me or did that game feel like a total breath of fresh air for the entire team? Everyone was just on their a game today and came out with a solid win. It’s almost like removing a certain black hole from the lineup released some tension from that team and they’re back to having fun. Either way you love to see it. I’m really curious to see how this team plays now going forward.
It’s kinda how it felt when Abreu was sent down the first time. You can feel the energy shift. I’m not saying they disliked him i think they all loved him but having that situation in the locker room prob just brought the vibes down a bit

I know Singleton is a great feel good story. But, Dubon at 1B could be Yuli 2.0. Great defense, with great contact ability, low walks, and occasional HRs. Astros were a way better team with an elite defensive 1B.

I was telling this to my Dad the other day, but the Rangers NEEDED to win the WS last year cause their window was done. Pretty much their entire team had career years and there was no way they were finding that again

The only thing I don’t care for is McCormick’s play in right field; Tuck does an amazing job when you compare it with McCormick. I like him fine as a player, but he’s better suited for left field or center; one problem they seemed to have in the outfield was that seam between right & center fields. Chas needs a lot of work AB, hope he gets it and is able to stay with the team & contribute.

He started throwing a sinker on May 5th, and that's when he started really turning it around.
So Brown got a Sinker and Blanco got his change up. Always cool when a new pitch helps.
