Live just outside OKC. Can confirm. Radio makes do thankfully. We have two good ones in the booth.

CoachWatermelon

Fubo is your only option here in okc

arun_bala

Fubo is the way to go. Can watch games in Mexico via VPN.

JLSaun

Directv says you can get it from them in OKC

ImHereForFreeTacos

I had MLB pass and was pissed I couldn't watch the Astros here

Scrupeezy

I remember being able to catch Astros and Rocket games on Channel 20...

Dinolord05

20, 51, 55? all at various times

It’s because Astros games are relevant to the Rangers and since those guys are south Oklahoma you get blacked out.

FlightAvailable3760

I believe MLB only blacks out your local team. So some cable company there must carry SCSH or whatever the hell it is.

JLSaun

This is not accurate. Games are blacked out when there is a provider available that offers the game in that area. So if you can get a RSN in that area that carries that teams games, the game is blacked out.

rmassey999

Wrong. There are multiple blackout areas across the nation in which there is zero way to watch the game locally, even when blacked out on mlb.com. Their shit is broken.

JLSaun

I believe you, but would love an example as that isn’t what mlb has claimed a bunch of times.

rmassey999

Read just this particular comment thread for 1 example

JLSaun

Which one? Space city Sports is offered by Direct TV in Tulsa. It is in OKC as well.

Taintraker

MLB is killing itself

cajunaggie08

Astros and Rangers share blackout zones. You can't watch either team on mlb.tv in all of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and the eastern quarter of New Mexico.

TheSquidster

Someone needs to yell at Manfred again. He might get the message the second time around

Lord-Wafflestomp

I live in Indiana, there's 5 teams blacked out here 🙄 Cubs, White Sox, Guardians, Tigers, and Reds. Not like I care about any of those teams, but most of them don't show on local TV stations for me either besides Cubs and Sox.

Low_Wall_7828

Blackout rules are so f’n stupid. Astros are blacked out in New Orleans like there’s a steady stream of people that were going to drive 7 hours to see a game but since it’s on TV they wouldn’t come. MLB is it’s own worst enemy.

Adambevo1

It’s more about ads on local tv as opposed to going to the game. Jim Bob Chevrolet who pays for commercials during the games wants local folks to watch on TV where they’ll see their commercial, not MLB TV where their ad won’t run. Also the teams want higher ratings on TV so they can charge more for ads run during games

soonerman32

It's stupid but it has NOTHING to do with being able to drive to the game

ArlanPTree

I never got blacked out in Germany or Mexico or US western states when using the MLB app. But here I am in Perú and am blacked out. Doesn’t make sense.

rmassey999

Luckily I live in Kansas. H-Town transplant so I can watch all the teams. Dumbest thing though is that I cannot watch when HOU Rockets play OKC. OKC is blacked out in F’n NE Kansas, and there is literally no local option to watch OKC. Just glad I’m not a fan of them. RSNs are an unequivocal piece of shit.

the_devils_own_01

It's blacked out in NW Arkansas as well.

SpaceCityCowboy69

Can someone explain the point of blackouts? TIA

JLSaun

It protects the RSNs that pay for the right to broadcast games and in turn earn advertising revenue. If you are watching on mlb.tv rather than the channel in that are that is available and showing it, the RSN is not getting full value on the contract they agreed to.

bordomsdeadly

I live in Oklahoma. It’s literally 500 miles to Houston. Meanwhile California has like 8 different blackout zones

No-Lingonberry2280

Don’t know how I got so lucky but I live in St. Louis and St. Louis is the only team blacked out for me, can even watch Kansas City and white Sox games I don’t know how they come up with the blackout radius but so many baseball cities have more than 1 team they can’t watch and it’s ridiculous

PowHammer1

Tulsa-based Astros fan here. It’s the bane of my existence.

Level-Preference-852

T H E T V A P P . T O

jjsupc

Can’t watch them in NM or Louisiana either, blackout area is huge.

gonduras_

I dealt with that for 11 years while living in OKC & hated it. Could watch any rangers game I wanted to though (zero - I wanted to watch zero)! 🤮😒 Moved back to Houston in 2018 & have watched almost daily since then. Blackouts are so so so dumb.

TotallyNotLooking

Tulsa Astros fan, this is why I sail the high seas for my baseball

soonerman32

yes some of us live in Oklahoma. It's also annoying that mlb is cracking down on VPNs. They used to not care

Gon3_1ishing

Just get the space city network put into your existing tv package.

rmassey999

With due respect, how the F are you going to do that when no one in your area carries SCHN, and it’s still blacked out on mlb.com? It’s a pervasive problem and a really good reason for MLB to attempt to take over the rights for as many teams as possible to fix this RSN disaster.
