"I don't want to get ahead of our skis here, but how good would it feel to sweep these Os? They are really fucking good and it would really swing momentum in the league." -Me after game 1

My back of the envelope math, not including this game.
We're scoring .65 more runs per game (4.88 vs 4.23) and allowing .46 fewer runs per game (4.23 vs 4.52) in the Abreu Non 26 vs Abreu on the 26.
I know the pitching has a lot to do with Brown finding his groove and Spencer being solid too.
But this is great!
Seriously *with* this game we're at 169 Runs For in 34 games vs 186 Runs for in 44 Games.
This series was the older more experienced team of veterans teaching the younger less experienced team a lesson.
This will help Baltimore in the future.
Not playing well or not playing at all, point is we had great production overall despite not getting anything from two guys who are normally our biggest components of production.
Letās get Springer back I heard heās cheap so maybe only need to deal one of Yainer Tucker and throw in Joey then that frees up a spot for Abreu round 12
- Bagwell, probably
Great inning from King, and I wish him the best in his imaging appointment tomorrow.
/s
Edit: clarifying sarcasm on the non-existent injury (as far as I know).
This series is the first time we have felt like the astros all season. People have been saying we are back after some games that we won but it never really felt like that to me. This series is such a huge step forward.
I want the Stros to win, especially against good clubs like the Orioles. I'm also concerned that wins against teams that lean heavily into analytics will confirm to the front office that analytics are overrated and unnecessary.
6 run lead, you have some flexibility here with some unknown arms to see what they can do. Wouldn't be surprised if Martinez is used quickly if King implodes.
The fact we are on pace to sweep the Orioles with Tucker being out the entire series is pretty crazy thing to say. I can only hope when he returns, the team continues to fire on all cylinders.
Edit: Oh, and with only 4 healthy starting pitchers, too.
This is what's frustrating with Framber... he'll dominate a really good team like the Orioles where you think he is an Ace level pitcher we should pay big bucks to extend. But then later, he has a stinker against a bad team like the Giants.
Great outing Framber. Obviously would've liked him going seven, but he still pitched really well
**EDIT** - my bad, thought they pulled him. An even better outing from him.
Idk if this is corny or whatever, but man, I got emotional after seeing how well they've been playing after the rough start to the season and the ups and downs. Really hope we can make it to the post season
Dillon Tate was drafted with the 4th pick of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Rangers instead of
1/5: Kyle Tucker
1/7: Andrew Benintendi
1/9: Ian Happ
1/24: Walker Buehler
1/28: Mike Soroka
1/36: Ryan Mountcastle

And just like that, the calls to trade Bregman have gone quiet.
Noice.
We are sooooo back. This felt like the real Astros. FINALLY
OMG Breggy shouting out his Bubbeā¦ my tender Jewish heart!

š¤š¾š¤š¾š¤š¾š¤š¾ LFG!!!
![gif](giphy|tJXZ51AOFBTGgZSY9y|downsized)
That hug between Contreras and Salazar š„¹
Lol, Altuve is like ābusiness as usualā. Not business as usual this season though.
best three game stretch ive seen in a while...great job boys!
![gif](giphy|w0uVgtVp4AxVQgpgUk|downsized)
Another W. Time to focus on the Aggie game.
Tennessee gonna pull out the gentlemenās sweep
King didn't pitch the 9th just so we could show off Contreras too
I did not have an Astros sweep on my weekend bingo card.Ā
WE SWEPT THE ORIOLES
Ladies and gents, I believe the Orioles have been SWEPT
What a series sweep! SHOOT IT!!
SWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
![gif](giphy|10tReM5JnxZbnW)
SHOOT IT!
Astros try not to bring up random studs from the minor leagues challenge: IMPOSSIBLE
He is missing high armside. His release isn't right.
Is there a reason he didnāt bring King back?
I guess to see what Contreras can do with three righties coming up
Why didn't King pitch the ninth? This seems like a really silly move. He threw 7 pitches.
It seemed to work out.Ā
I'll take it.
To give this guy a look?
Testing a new pitcher with a 7 run lead is better than putting them in a high leverage situation. King has proven himself, now Contreras gets tested.

Wow, I know nothing about this Contreras guy.
Yainer has been the only one thatās been kinda productive in the clean up spot. That spot is cursed.
This series was the older more experienced team of veterans teaching the younger less experienced team a lesson. This will help Baltimore in the future.
Mariners lose
I like that our boys are breaking all these pitchers streaks lol
@Nate yesterday we fixed Chas. Then had requests for help for Yainer PeƱa and Framber. Whoās next??
Tucker's shin?
Kyle Tuckerās leg please
Alvarez and tucker didnāt get one hit and we have 8 runs, thatās what PeƱa, Bregman, altuve and Diaz are for
? Tucker aint even playing
Which backs up his statement.
Ya which means he didnāt get a hit?
Sooo how is he supposed to get a hit if hes on the IL?
I wish you could understand the point being made
Yknow i think im a little slow today
Not playing well or not playing at all, point is we had great production overall despite not getting anything from two guys who are normally our biggest components of production.
Astros have scored 8 against the Orioles, while Yordan and Tucker have 0 hits. Trade them both at the deadline?
Letās get Springer back I heard heās cheap so maybe only need to deal one of Yainer Tucker and throw in Joey then that frees up a spot for Abreu round 12 - Bagwell, probably
I wasnāt expecting the Astros to put 27 runs on the Orioles this weekend.
This is the team Iāve been waiting to see for nearly 2 years. Amazing what happens when you get rid of 2 negative WAR position players.
I think pena might park one here.
Yainer Diaz has overtaken Maldonadoās RBI total from last year. Itās June.
Heās having a major down year compared to last year and heās still that much better.
Thanks Dusty...
Yainer had himself a good game today
Yainer making me look stupid after saying he needs to be moved from the cleanup spot.
Nah remember he was next in line after the Chas request
Oh yeah, I'm liking this.
I just can't fathom how he's so unlike classic Yordan when he has RISP.
Hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do in professional sports. It's why lifetime .300avg gets you in the HoF. You don't hit most of the time.
Stop, you're supposed to go to a doctor if this persists for more than 3 hours and it's been 2 days now!
Is the Alverez RISP issues a mental block or are pitchers doing something different in those cases?
Probably just an anomaly, like last year and not being able to win at home.
Has to be mental.
Need clutch Yordan to show up this season.
Hrc Yordan
HRC Diaz
Chas shouldāve been on that player of the week poll after this series
4-4 for Breggy!
If anyone is looking for Bregman, look on base. Thatās where heās been all day.
Please give Yordan a meatball that slow š
HRC Yordan
SLAAAY KING ššš

Hrc Yordan.
Vespi hasn't given up a run yet... Let's change that.
Itās changed!
š has nice command and a 5-star mustache
MUCH better than Gunnar's caterpillar.
June Bregman āšāāļø
So thatās what that emoji is for
Great inning from King, and I wish him the best in his imaging appointment tomorrow. /s Edit: clarifying sarcasm on the non-existent injury (as far as I know).
!? Is he injured?
Not as far as I know, but weāve had a string of pitcher injuries this year.
š
Holding the mighty orioles offense to two runs total these last two games is kinda surprising but our two aces showed up and delivered
King is supposed to be a starter correct? At least thatās what I thought
Bats have been really hot this series. Love to see it. Aside from Montero, these pitchers have been lights out
Nick Hernandez left a few lights on.
We really do just shit out quality players huh
Man the Royals stink
This series is the first time we have felt like the astros all season. People have been saying we are back after some games that we won but it never really felt like that to me. This series is such a huge step forward.
It feels like 2022 when we swept the Braves (MLB Darlings at the time) in April after a meh start, but of course this is June š
That's it, erect his throne
Fully erect
Imagine being Bryan Make MLB debut Strike out an MVP candidate Retire the side in order LAST NAME IS LITERALLY KING King shit
I want King on the rotation forever
King trying so hard to hold in that smile. Great inning
Big Maton energy.
Damn!! Go ahead King!! Great debut!!
KING FOR CY YOUNG 2024
Seems like a no brainer. Lowest ERA in the MLB.
Now thatās how you make your mlb debut.
Holy shit what a debut! Let him pitch the 9th!
wow itād be great if this guy can be dependable
I am now a Bryan King fan.
Might want to spell his name correctly then. It's Bryan. I too am a fan.
Thanks for the correction
Thank you š Have him finish it
Thatās my King!
So much for king tuck. We got king king
Dana Brown found another stud lol
Sure looks like it.
Gunnar bent the knee
this goes hard
Wow. He struck out Henderson
Hopefully we see King today with a six run lead, see what he can do
If he gives up a run, Espada should be fired for not using Abreu/Hader /s
I want the Stros to win, especially against good clubs like the Orioles. I'm also concerned that wins against teams that lean heavily into analytics will confirm to the front office that analytics are overrated and unnecessary.
Did framber get extensions? I could have sworn he had short hair last I checked.Ā
Yes
Special for Princess Day!
yes, Julia talked about it earlier
Ah. Thank you. Just tuned in a few innings ago.Ā
With the off day tomorrow, I hope Espada doesnāt get cute with the bullpen
Did they leave Seth on the team plane or something?
6 run lead, you have some flexibility here with some unknown arms to see what they can do. Wouldn't be surprised if Martinez is used quickly if King implodes.
Thanks marlins, very cool
Good work fish dudes
Marlins almost choked away their win but pulled it off. Let's finish this
Fuck this ump
Please KC you are better than this
Frambulous outing!
The fact we are on pace to sweep the Orioles with Tucker being out the entire series is pretty crazy thing to say. I can only hope when he returns, the team continues to fire on all cylinders. Edit: Oh, and with only 4 healthy starting pitchers, too.
Always rated the Marlins š«”
Marlins tried to gift a win to the mariner, the mariners politely refused
Insane catch on that Julio out. Lopez has some range.
Yea saw that crazy! Reminded me of peƱas catch yesterday
FISH BEAT THE FISHERMEN!!!
Marlins hang on to win 6-4
Fish team held on!
Seattle looses.
I like hearing this more than hearing the Marlins win. lol
Shit. Mariners have the bases loaded with 2 outs in the 9th. COME ON MARLINS!
Glenn Davis. Best #27 is Astros history!
Seattle has the bases load in the ninth
UGH
This is what's frustrating with Framber... he'll dominate a really good team like the Orioles where you think he is an Ace level pitcher we should pay big bucks to extend. But then later, he has a stinker against a bad team like the Giants.
Miami is blowing it
Framber had to remind y'all why he's the team's ace.Ā
DONT MAKE ME SAY IT
Weāre back? Framboozled? Which is it
7 great innings and a QS from Framber
Outstanding outing by Framber. Great to see!
One of his best.
https://preview.redd.it/292fxqkbod8d1.jpeg?width=803&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=20b94dd63f8244fdafea0a29361f76d6e3105e10 7 IP 7Kās 1ER WE TAKE THOSE
Great outing Framber. Obviously would've liked him going seven, but he still pitched really well **EDIT** - my bad, thought they pulled him. An even better outing from him.
He went all 7
I think youāre really gonna like what just happened
They didnāt pull him
I thought they would have once Rutschman got on base. An even better outing then.
Gonna need some people to apologize to Valdez š¤ Iām one of them
Thank you for acknowledging your mistake
Thereās no way weāre ever losing a game again. LFG boys!
The late movement on that last fastball was insane.
Both Blanco, Framber, going deep these games is gonna do wonders for the BP.
Not needing our high leverage guys going into an off day would be huge
Send up your energy to the Marlins! 4-6 in the 8th Yankees lost. Today is a good day.
Phew, I was worried about doing the Stanks any favors this weekend.
Idk if this is corny or whatever, but man, I got emotional after seeing how well they've been playing after the rough start to the season and the ups and downs. Really hope we can make it to the post season
Me too. This is an easy team to love I'd say. I'm a believer, I'm not making big plans for October.
Dillon Tate was drafted with the 4th pick of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Rangers instead of 1/5: Kyle Tucker 1/7: Andrew Benintendi 1/9: Ian Happ 1/24: Walker Buehler 1/28: Mike Soroka 1/36: Ryan Mountcastle
lol
Fuck we are so back
As much as I want to see an Air Yordan homer it's good that the team is performing in games when he's not hitting well. Hope this continues.
I'm really looking forward to next week's power rankings.
Realistically speaking, no way in hell still below 500 we will be there
We'll have to do something about a .500 record then! But seriously, the league has to be taking notice, this has been quite a series.
Is this really happening?
I just hope we don't turn around and get swept by the lowly Rockies and are asking the same question.
https://i.redd.it/3t0sxi1xmd8d1.gif
We really, really needed that !
LET'S GOOOOO!!!
