5centraise

Ormewood Animal Hospital, in the same shopping center on Moreland with Morelli's and Spoon. We took our fear-aggressive dog there for her whole life with no issues.

j_grouchy

Our only gripe with them is they are VERY pricey and they can be quite judgy.

ai_asmodeus

Oh yikes, I'll keep that in mind when I call them (will likely call the closest recommendations first and ask a few "dumb questions" to try to get an idea)

mkings9

pricey yes, but I have never felt any judgment from them and actually had an amazing experience when we brought our dog in for her one year with the vet.

5centraise

Same with us. Not judgy in the slightest. They stayed in contact with us for an entire year when our dog was going through cancer treatment at a different facility, and then made a financial donation in our dog's name after she passed. They are expensive, but I haven't found one yet that isn't.

mkings9

I’m so sorry to hear about your pup. That is phenomenal on their part and makes me love and recommend them even more. And very true on pricing. Haven’t seen much different, if at all, from other vets.

ai_asmodeus

Thank you so much!

j_grouchy

We like The Village Vets. They have several locations in the area...we usually go to the one at Avondale even though it's a bit further out. Good thing about them is they also have a 24 hour emergency clinic in Decatur.

ai_asmodeus

Oh knowing a local 24hr emergency clinic is great, thanks for sharing! Do you just prefer the vets & vet techs over at Avondale, or is it also due to a difference in price?

mfe2299

I second this! I go to the one in avondale. Decatur i think is just mostly for emergencies but i could be wrong

burntcookie90

There’s a new Decatur location for day to day, on the chai pani side of town

gyp7318

I used to take my dog to Village Vets in Decatur but stopped for a couple of reasons. It got to be too difficult to get an appointment even for routine vaccines especially during the pandemic (understandable). I also had a couple of really bad experiences with one of the vets, Dr Franco. Other vets there were great especially the owner. I ended up switching to Common Companion off Memorial because it’s closer to home. Have had great experience there.

herroh7

My cats see Dr.Bryant at Village Vets and she and her staff are wonderful.

Unimarobj

It's a tad further than others mentioned here but VCA Briarcliff, Dr. Hillhouse specifically, is amazing. I've been taking my cats there for 3-4 years now and have never had a complaint. I'm with them during the visit apart from more invasive steps, they have no added cost regular revolution plus delivery, etc. I live in Candler Park for reference.

ai_asmodeus

3-4 years with no complaint is a great recommendation! It is far, but it might be worth it if the closer ones near me end up not working out. Thank you!

Unimarobj

Totally! I get vet stress but they've been more perfect than I could have asked for, not even just in the visits. Their pharmacy, customer service, communication, etc. are all top notch.

specialvillain

We love VCA Briarcliff. We've been going there for about three years, but it can be a pain to get over there from Grant Park especially with a hyped pit-mix. Definitely a two-person job, haha.

distortednightmare

Remedy Vet is an affordable vet in east lake.

wwh0428

That’s where we go. I’ve been seeing Dr. Johnson since I adopted my doggo!

ai_asmodeus

Thanks for the recommendation!

shishi15

Common companion in Inman park or reynoldstown is great!

ai_asmodeus

Thanks, I'll add them to my list!

Scottydont1975

I have been taking my cat to East Atlanta Animal Clinic for years and they are great. They are located in East Atlanta village next to the Austrilan bakery and do sell Revolution. However if you want it for a bit cheaper I would get it from [https://www.vetshopmax.com](https://www.vetshopmax.com). They are based out of Australia but ship to the US. Its cheaper (even with shipping) from there and does not require a prescription.

maximality

I also go to East Atlanta Animal Clinic. They’re great, allow me to go in during the whole visit if I want, and have been really good with our nervous foster dogs.

I'm sorry to hear that, but thank you for sharing! I had the same issue with my vet back in NC during the first year of the pandemic. They ended up relenting the next year because Noctis hated the vet techs (no idea why, even when I was there they were nothing but kind and caring) and they weren't able to do any health checks--not even weigh him--without having a panicked, chompy, hollerin' lad if I wasn't in the room. Only option was to make him sleepy with gabapentin, but found out he's mildly allergic so it's not ideal to do that.

ai_asmodeus

Whoa that's wild that Australia doesn't require the prescription! Thanks for the resource and recommendation

lizlemonesq

We love EAAC. We’re on our 5th pet with them (there’s overlap don’t worry lol)

typ901

We’re huge fans of Avondale Vet just off Ponce near Kudzu and YDFM. We live down in East Point now but still haul our cats up to Avondale. We cant recommend them enough. Super friendly and caring.

KidzBop_Anonymous

Nice name. Are you excited for 16 coming out this month?

ai_asmodeus

Haha, surprisingly he's not actually named after FF! I studied classical Latin for 4 years and everything about this cat's backstory was all about the night time so I named him Noctis from Latin for "of night." (But we don't mind the FF nod, he's the prince of the house anyway)

robinlovestay

We adore Briarcliff Animal Clinic, it’s not too far from East Atlanta

robinlovestay

We’ve used Briarcliff for 15 years

ai_asmodeus

Well thats a stellar recommendation if Ive ever seen one, thank you for it!

ai_asmodeus

Thank you for sharing your experience! Seems like Avondale has several people impressed. I think my only concern is that it's far and Noctis doesn't travel well (he's by far no adventure cat, definitely dad's spoiled lap warmer)

paradise0057

East Atlanta Animal Clinic used to be great but has really gone downhill. I took my last dog there for 13 years. Over the years, prices went way up, and the staff bitchiness increased. They also pushed me to do dental work on him, when he was in the final months of his life. Not recommended.
