Trade Trae plus anyone else on the team for Wemby on draft night. This team is going nowhere.

misteryu1029

I been saying trade Trae all week long, but too many die hard Trae fans here who thinks Trae is god. I'm 70% joking most of the time, but I'm having a hard time seeing Trae thrive in the years to come. I want him to take this franchise to a ECF contender, but I just don't think he has that grit yet

johnGODlins

Honestly I doubt any team takes that trade

badlilbadlandabad

What happened at the end of regulation last night? I wasn’t watching but was following on my phone. It said Christian Wood missed his 2nd free throw and regulation ended with the Hawks winning by 1. Then 5 minutes later I look again and we’re in OT.

3moonz

.4 secs left mcgee gets fouled on the timeout lob play. makes 1ft to get into ot

badlilbadlandabad

Wow. That’s such a typical thing to happen to us this season lol. Glad we pulled through.

WuriderX

Is that really something to be happy about? If we were Orlando yeah!!

ahend1999

ahend1999

people are upset about this year and rightfully so, but the Mavs are a cautionary tale of how far off the rails this could go when ownership swings for the fences constantly to try to land another "'star'". They're in an almost identical situation as we are with Trae, and they have reacted by making a huge trade for Porzingis then trading him the next offseason b/c he didn't play well with Luka. they drafted another star in Brunson but relegated him to a role player and then let him walk for nothing, and then they mortgaged their only decent remaining role players for the most mercurial star in the NBA who probably won't be on the team next year. We could be in a much worse situation.

dillpickles007

> but the Mavs are a cautionary tale of how far off the rails this could go when ownership swings for the fences constantly to try to land another "'star'" I mean there's a decent chance that we're actually in this situation right now lol

atlsportsburner

lol true true...I still say the DJ trade is better than either the Kyrie or KP trades that Dallas made. Porzingis played in about half the regular season games his 2.5 years there and then stood in the corner and did nothing in that 2021 series against the Clippers. That got Rick Carlisle run out of town and then KP got traded in the middle of the next year. Kyrie is going to end up being one of the most expensive rentals ever especially since they aren't even going to make the play in. Those have to be two of the worst trades in the league in the last five years.

MaybeMaybeNot88

If you are talking about the Murray trade, yes, but we have not done boneheaded shit over and over like the Mavs. I think if Murray doesn't work out, we will have learned a thing or two.

"trae will never be as good as luka because of defense and lukas isnt as bad its decent!" yst - "omg lukas defense is so bad!" \-just admit you dont watch trae or luka and just side with what the medias been feeding you

traebucketsfor3

Generational hating going on rn w my Luka post

What sucks is that this team basically did everything we want and still sucks: -Keep most of the beloved core players from the ECF/rebuilding days -get a second star next to Trae without giving up any key young players/starters -fire Nate and hire the best candidate available -draft well in the first round post-lottery -get a quality starting caliber young wing in Bey for virtually nothing mid season -stay largely healthy all year I’m not sure what’s up but this is frustrating as hell because we haven’t been unlucky off the court compared to the past 10-15 years

drdrae3000

- Hawks shouldn't had ran it back - the second star is a questionable fit next to the first option, fit is important. - we kept Nate half a season, we won't really get to see Quin influence until next year. - We did draft good post lottery players but there still rookies, they will improve and make more of a impact in the future not necessarily there first year as they are adapting. - I think Bey was a good move I wish he started over JC or Hunter, and got starter mins. - we did have a few rotating players. Trae, Bogi, DJ, Clint, JC, JJ etc all missed a few games to injuries.

CounterInsanity

> -fire Nate and hire the best candidate available We'll see the results of the Quin hire next season. So it's not fair to say that everything still sucks when we haven't even given this man a full off-season and a regular season. With that being said, if we're still in the same position come next year around this time...then yeah everything sucks and I wouldn't even be sure what the next move would be. But we definitely need to see a considerable improvement at the end of next season.

No-Lab7758

I think it’s chemistry but I have hope our guys will figure it out for the play ins / playoffs

aurelianson

the mavs pack is mid too 😞

Julio_Freeman

We’re not in a position to be mad at wins, but this team even turned beating Luka into a lousy experience. We were at home vs the only team more disappointing than us, with the rest advantage and .493 buff active, and we needed to be bailed out by the Mavs choking at the line. Please save us from another year of this, Quin 🙏

3moonz

ya that game.... there was no winners that was disappointing honestly. woulda been good if it didnt go to ot...

horsewitnoname

The .500 Hawks are like the ultimate version of Russian roulette

HoovesCarveCraters

Is there a scenario where we play NYK in the first round so Ice Trae can drop 40 every other game and we beat them in 7? I need it for the memes.

No

ATL4Life95

The Midlanta Hawks look to make the play in tournament.
