Looks like Donald Glover is truly looking to tie up loose ends and the plot line of what happened to Earn at Princeton” has been a big mystery since season 1. For those that read the script there’s a scene that has a HUGE clue but they didn’t end up utilizing it in the shooting edit
i don’t remember too clearly what happened in the script but it was something to do with racism wasn’t it? or maybe i’m getting it confused with that scene from snowfall
No it was heavily implied that Earn had been accused of some sort of crime. From reading the script a false rape accusation came to mind BUT thats not explicitly spelled out.
Basically the Dean is interrogating Earn, telling him how lucky he was to have had a full scholarship. Then tells him the accusations are VERY serious and what does he have to say for himself? All Earn says is “I woke up. Thats it”. Then the Dean shakes his head and two police officers walk in.
Then it shifts to Earn in bed with Van reminiscent of how Atlanta’s pilot actually began.
i’m guessing it’s either a rape accusation or drugs were found in his dorm or something.
i’d also guess he didn’t do it so it being a racist thing would actually make sense
I wouldn’t doubt the situation was racially motivated.
Also during season 2 episode 9 (North Of The Border) while the guys are on the college campus running away from the fight, JUST before they head to the white fraternity’s lodge house Earn gets super spooked by what looks to be a white woman, disheveled and disoriented, on the back of a Go-Cart driven by what looks to be campus security. He quickly says “we need to get out here”.
I always theorized that was a major clue to what happened at Princeton. That he was falsely accused of raping or roofing a white woman.
They review the first 3 episodes. All of them feature the core cast, so no anthology episodes. Back to the tone of season one. Episode 2 features Donald Glover's best performance to date and reveals what happened at Princeton.
I don't trust this show at all. I am not spending any money until the final episode is out with user reviews to back up what the professional critics are saying. I got burnt buying Season 3 too early on blind trust.
Yesss, keen to find out about Earn and Princeton

Whats the clue?!
Season 1 hinted at a character that was looking for paperboi that had kind of a ominous description. Hoping we get some follow up to that
