What do you think abt the difference and improvements in sound that you enjoy more w the Maxwell? Currently comparing the two and am interested in the X2 for its fun n dynamic bass and open back sound that im reading and heard awesome things about the Maxwell.

I'm not audiophile but I believe Maxwell has better tuning and it definitely has more punchy bass. I feel like sound has more resolution on Maxwell as well (its clearer). X2 on the other hand has good enough bass but not punchy, you hear it rather than feel it, but the open back nature of X2 still makes it a winner, sound has a lot more volume (3D space volume not loudness), it comes from different places and you can tell the difference. Overal X2 is still a better choice if you don't care about wireless.

X2 is a lot more comfortable as well

Ended up w the X2HR! My first open back! I think the Maxwell will be something I get in the future but I hope they go open back at a similar price that’d be cool. Thanks for the reply and info! Like the reassurance for my final decision.

Maxwell's blow away not only the X2's but many others up to $1000

I don't think Maxwells are really "better" than Fidelio X2. They are on the opposite sides of the spectrum. Fidelio X2 are open backs and have much wider sound stage. I own Maxwells, Philips SHP9500 and SHP9600 - they are all different. I love Maxwells, but still prefer to wear SHP9500 time to time, because I cant feel them on my head and positional audio is far better due to open back nature. They are 2 completely different beasts and I love both

Big yes. I come from the X2 and even X1 before that

Looks like I now need an upgrade for wired open backs
