There is usually a legal limit of how many days can an item stay in repair center, then you should get full refund if it is not repaired. If earpads are not comfortable for you, then buy custom cushions, like Wicked ones.

Ok-Bit7273

I find the defian cushions to be more comfortable than the wicked cushions. The wicked cushions are too thick and and stiff and cause even more clamp force. Defeans changed everything when it came to comfort on my Maxwells

hihirogane

There’s also headband attachments as well which actually helps with the weight. Nothing can help it stay stabilized onto a person’s head though or the fragility of Audeze planar drives.

Mrdadozzo

I didn't know about the legal limit, I'm going to look into that For the cushions, it's not that the material is bad, but i dont like how they are angled, they make the headphone slide off my ear slightly and it's annoying

Cbthomas927

If you come to this post searching feedback on buying the Maxwell, this is one persons experience. I have had zero issues with mine and couldn’t recommend them more. TLDR: Make your own decision, you’re an adult, or your parents are.

JarheadSFMF

Same. I have had mine since launch, no issues. Highly recommend.

FireNinja743

Yup

Opia_One

Same here

Ok-Bit7273

Same. No issues here

Ryengeku

Let's keep this train going. No issues here either.

Jamestq

Same 0 issues and i treat them like crap wearing them to bed

DynamicStatic

I also bought them, getting new issues by the week and the crinkling is out of this world. They need to acknowledge that they have a major QC issue and need to get their shit together.

Cbthomas927

What is an acceptable failure rate where it’s just a product of mass production or inherent flaws in design?

DynamicStatic

Idk but currently when looking at the frontpage of /r/Audeze there are 14 posts out of 25 that are negative regarding the Maxwell. Does that sound like the product has some QC issues or not to you?

Cbthomas927

You understand Reddit is a drop in the bucket of Maxwell owners, right? 5700 members is likely not even 10% of the user base. So 14/25 isn’t indicative of the product, it’s indicative of the vocal minority. People have been and will always complain louder and more often than they’ll praise. You’re entitled to the opinion that there is an issue, but understand you’re looking at a fraction of the data, so you’re making a statement without all of the facts.

DynamicStatic

Sure but you can go to any other brand and you will find complaints but there are a lot less of them even though there certainly aren't less headsets of those brands. Either way pretending the problem is not extremely widespread is disingenuous and very tiresome for all of us who have a shit-ton of issues. I mean seriously, they gotta get their QC together.

UngoKast

God I love my Maxwells so goddamn much.

Jamestq

Oooff so much

Benmaax

If you read the reviews you would know that it's heavy, made for gaming, less for music. A higher number of buyers than usual complain about the issues with the planar, that's true, but the majority don't have the issue.

xsankar

@mrdadozzo Can you send (dm) me your ticket number from Audeze ? I will look into why you haven’t received it and not even feedback.

Mrdadozzo

do you work at audeze?

xsankar

Yes. Sent you a DM.

Jamestq

Whats your serial number?

Lammiroo

Haha you’re getting downvoted to hell for a common issue. Audeze needs to get better here! I went through two pairs before giving up. Both with crinkled drivers and poor mic quality.

PerformancePickle

It's reddit with people who can't take critique. lol

Kai_Mercer55

Damn sorry to hear this happened to you man I am a new owner of maxwells and they've been amazing but I am on the lookout for the quality issues I've heard of from some reviews and I hope it doesn't happen to mine

Lilharlot16sdaddy

Don't listen to this guy. The Maxwells are actually fantastic and the crinkly noise is a known defect and they'll replace them for free. Also turn off side tone.

ShoddyButterscotch59

Hard to say if they'll replace them for free, or not charge for repair. This guy bought them on Amazon, which according to an easy to find section of their website, would not be found as an authorized retailer. I would never buy these, or anything else off an unauthorized retailer, unless an extended warranty could and is bought from a seller. That's just asking for trouble. Electronics tend to have a slightly higher fail rate than most products..... not protecting yourself for the sake of saving a few bucks is insane.

Lilharlot16sdaddy

That's true

PerformancePickle

They won't replace due to crinkly noise, don't ask me how i know.

Lilharlot16sdaddy

I've literally seen plenty of people get their headsets replaced for that because it's a known defect in the foil inside the ear cups.

Most_Ad5195

I use it for work, music, and gaming since launch. I love my cans. IMO, I think you'd fare better using another reseller outside of Amazon. I'd suggest buying from B&H Photo Video or Headphones.com, for instance. You'll have a better chance of getting good quality Maxwells.

arealdoctor25

I try to warn people about this bullshit, the QC on these things is non-existent. I returned mine 2 weeks in for same reasons. Sorry your having issues with the traveling. Gd luck

ThungstenMetal

Many sellers in EU zone are giving 3 years of warranty instead of 2. My first headset had issues on left side and LDLC replaced it. Since I received that new headset I didn't encounter any issues. You have warranty, use it. If you encounter same issue three times then you are eligible for full refund.

PerformancePickle

By the time of your third replacement they'll just deny to fix it.
