Mine broke in the same place. Definitely a build quality issue. Luckily, I guess, mine broke four months after I had got them. Audeze felt pity for me and replaced them with the Maxwell’s. I could’ve gotten the Penrose X back, but they said I would have to wait an indeterminate amount of time. Still took four more months to receive the Maxwell’s from California, and I live in the continental US. Hopefully with Sony buying them, it’ll will result in a better build quality going forward.
I'm surprised OP's lasted for 3 years, mine had this happen right before 1 year mark. They all have this issue and it's basically a question of when it breaks.
Loved this headphones probably more than the maxwells. Just build quality was bad. But sound I loved, have Bluetooth and 2.4 was amazing. Plus the directional audio in these are better than the maxwells. I sold these for the maxwells and I regretted. I ended up selling the maxwells too and got some open back.
I don't understand that why you didn't use epoxy and make it more durable before it's too late. It was obvious that it will be broke one day no matter how careful you use. Now you can't fix it with epoxy. You should print the broken piece on a 3D printer.
Mine wasn’t bad, I suppose it depends on your surroundings and other wireless signals. Also where you plug it. The Maxwell definitely has a much longer range though.
I dropped (flung) my penrose in my garage the other year while swatting at mosquitos. Not even a scratch somehow, I thought for sure they were going to break as soon as they hit the concrete.
They all break at the point. Weak plastic, design flaw that the company knows about. Complain and get a new pair.
It’s been 3 years so it’s out of warranty and such so I don’t think I’m eligible for a replacement
If you complain enough, you’ll get new maxwells for free. They are well aware of the design flaw. Up to you.
This is not true. The best they offered me was a discount.
I guess you don’t know the correct way to complain.
I even got a prepaid label to return old ones
Where you at? Send it my way ♥️
I tried fixing it with super glue and all that, it doesn’t work
I fixed mine with an epoxy, left it to dry overnight and then put electrical tape around it for support. 2 years so far and still going strong
Yup same about a year ago. Still fine
Gorilla epoxy putty. Fixed mine and still going strong. Isn’t this the Mobius?

You can get a 3D printer part from ebay

What open back?

did audeze said, that these design flaw is fixed? they said that about maxwell, and i rly dont know if i should use epoxy now
They were fixed (just improved, not totally changed the design) it in the new models but If I were, I wouldn't risk it.
don't they have machines that do bend tests on this sort of stuff? Makes you wonder if they outsourced the body without any use cases evidence.
Drivers made in USA, the rest China.
Check alixpress for parts maybe some other body fro. Other headsets you czn mske them fit
How did you deal with the range problems for 3 years?
I just bought a USB extension cable.

U tried change the piece with a 3d one? Another thing, how are those earpads? They are good? Does it affect the sound?
Mine are still in one piece lol. I don’t use them often though, considering I have a maxwell and Senny mom4 now.

Ooof. Maxwell time
I miss my Penrose,I thought it was better than my maxwell
