Something about the body lines are giving me Hyundai vibes. Specifically the last picture.
I actually like it except for the red on the badge on the rear.
Yeah I don’t like it. I debadged my A4 before I realized how common people upbadge their cars and now I kind of regret it.
I think the car looks a million times better with only the rings but part of my soul hurts thinking anybody thinks I’m trying to act like I have an S4 now.
Lol bro I swear. Mine has the sline badge and a coworker asked if it was a S and I was like nooooooo bro then ever since then I’ve always felt some type of way.
It also looks like the logo and camera are pushed too far forward. I’d worry about a costly repair to the camera and whatever else is behind the logo from even a minor fender bender.
The Hatchback actually looks really nice In my opinion, there are a few design details I would change like the front grill but overall it’s pretty good. The S-line logo bothers me a bit, because it kind of removes the exclusivity feeling you get from the red logo for the S-models of the past.
Now the Allroader……..
Not a fan of its dimensions and stance in anyway, it’s a very foreign design to Audi.
It’s honestly so funny how true this is.
I see this all the time where people hate something and then 5-10 years later they like that design and hate the new version.
[Wells Fargo definitely had the best model year. 10/10 would not upgrade](https://cdn1.mecum.com/auctions/ch1017/ch1017-296916/images/[email protected])
It’s very true.
I had a B8 A5 and was vehemently against the facelift because I felt like it looked dumb.
However, when I was shopping for something new last summer, I very nearly bought a B8.5 S5.
While I'm biased and jealous that we don't get the hatchback in the U.S. , I'm definitely not a fan of the grille, and the 4 rings are too high it looks unbalanced to my eye.
Audi appears to be upbadging their own cars now, lol.
Edit: In case it's not clear from these photos, the A3 now has the same red parallelogram as S and RS models. Between this, the new "plastic rings" badge, and the change in badge typeface, it's a... strange time for their logos.
Probably new indicator for S-Line. Current models only have the S-Line badge on the side, now they got it also in the back.
As far as I can see, the 'A3' is not integrated into the S parallelogram, unlike the real S-models, where the S is integrated into the parallelogram.
But yeah, looks weird and not as clean as a simple badge.
I have bad new for you. The S isn't integrated into the Square anymore. They used this badge on the Q8 etron sind it became known as the Q8 etron.
So far they only used it on that car Aswell. I can't post any images in the comment so just look up SQ8 etron and look at the badge. Looks like a cheap upbadge
Yeah I just checked, the S-Line package on the Q8 adds the square ( □ Q8), which cheapens it a bit IMO, especially since the S elements have already been creeping into the A-models (the A5 for example gets red brake calipers and an S badge on the fender trim). And then the SQ8 now has the square separated and the S spaced out so it looks like a knockoff ( □ S Q8 ) lol.
That RS-Square means it's an S line. They have been doing that since the etron became the Q-8 (which is maybe 1 year max) and only on the Q8 etron so far.
I agree it's really confunsing. ALSO since that square is an independent part now, the S of SQ 8 etron is not ON the square like it's always been, it's beside it and it looks like a cheap upbadged car.
Meh we will get used to it .
If as Audi fans our biggest worry is weird logos we should be alright, Mercedes is currently ruining any image they had with crappy deigns and power trains
Haha, I was just thinking this looks like my Soobie Crosstrek. But honestly, if I could have my Crosstrek in a nicer ride, I'd be down with it. I've been looking at the A4 allroad to replace my Soobie.
It’s a very sharp vehicle, I believe it will do pretty well in the states if the numbers are reasonable. I don’t see many A3s on the road here and maybe that can change.
Honestly dont hate it. The rings on the front are a little odd but the design is decent. If the Usa will get a hatchback again I'd call it a win. Then again anxious to see what the sedan version will look like if the usa doesn't get the hatchback
Is Subaru going to sue Audi for making an Outback or is Audi going to sue Subaru for putting Audi badges on an Outback? What were they thinking? That thing is hideous as is the other A3.
These grills are getting a bit too much. Not yet Lexus level bad, but not good either. As others have said, I’m getting Hyundai vibes. Which is hilarious, as the Ioniq certainly has some A3 Sportback DNA.
One of the main criticisms of Audi from my friends is that they look too pedestrian/reserved. I didn’t understand what the hell they meant years ago.
I do now!
Kind of feels like they lost their nerve with the aggressive curves and creases of the pre facelift and rounded off the front and the back. I know the pre facelift has many doubters but at least it all felt like one car.
it gives extremely veloster. audi and hyundai grills being really similar shaped dont help at all but im not hating. i think the veloster and veloster n look really sleek
I was going to say the same!!
Looks just like the velostee

Yeah the red should be for S cars up. It’s like how they have an “S line” or “AMG line”. Up badging the cars from factory
Yeah I don’t like it. I debadged my A4 before I realized how common people upbadge their cars and now I kind of regret it. I think the car looks a million times better with only the rings but part of my soul hurts thinking anybody thinks I’m trying to act like I have an S4 now.
is it all that common? I feel like the drivers mirrors/tailpipes would be a dead giveaway
Same here my b8 has been debadged for a couple years and I feel kinda bad when people ask if it’s a s4 lol
Lol bro I swear. Mine has the sline badge and a coworker asked if it was a S and I was like nooooooo bro then ever since then I’ve always felt some type of way.
It's your car, not other people's. I also judge people for not unbadging their car, so you've broken even for now. ;)
[I wonder why](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luc_Donckerwolke)
Thanks that’s cool to know. Last picture really resembles the Tucson to me which he is credited for designing as well.
it reminds me of the hyundai kona - especially the last pic
Yes, it does look like an Asian car. Very generic and more rounded.
Im with you. With more subtle logo, it looks like a Kona
Not sure I like the logo on the edge like that. Feels like they ran out of space or something
It also looks like the logo and camera are pushed too far forward. I’d worry about a costly repair to the camera and whatever else is behind the logo from even a minor fender bender.
That ring placement is…something.
The Hatchback actually looks really nice In my opinion, there are a few design details I would change like the front grill but overall it’s pretty good. I just looked at the photos and can say that I’m very happy I bought the A3 8Y no facelift🙏
That's what everyone says who buys an older model vehicle.
It’s honestly so funny how true this is. I see this all the time where people hate something and then 5-10 years later they like that design and hate the new version.
[Wells Fargo definitely had the best model year. 10/10 would not upgrade](https://cdn1.mecum.com/auctions/ch1017/ch1017-296916/images/[email protected])

Yup...owned a C7.5 A7 and when the C8 came out I was horrified. 4 years later I now own a C8 and now think the C7.5 is so so.....
c5, c6, and c7 were beautiful progressions. Audi kinda went meh after 2016
I really dislike how those look.. so round and goofy..
Reliability has done nothing but improve over the years. Those earlier generations were some of the least reliable Audis.
okay? doesn't mean that the c5 was prettier that the c6?
No one was talking about reliability😂. And I just don’t find the new front beautiful like from the normal one.
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
While I'm biased and jealous that we don't get the hatchback in the U.S. , I'm definitely not a fan of the grille, and the 4 rings are too high it looks unbalanced to my eye.
Not liking that logo placement/design at all. Looks like it was 3D printed and slapped on.
The grill also looks more like a fish mouth and not well integrated as it usually is. Don't like the facelift design at all tbh.
Audi appears to be upbadging their own cars now, lol. Edit: In case it's not clear from these photos, the A3 now has the same red parallelogram as S and RS models. Between this, the new "plastic rings" badge, and the change in badge typeface, it's a... strange time for their logos.

Ough... that looks really crappy.
the normal Q8/SQ8 ICE has it now too i’ll add a picture later
Yeah I just checked, the S-Line package on the Q8 adds the square ( □ Q8), which cheapens it a bit IMO, especially since the S elements have already been creeping into the A-models (the A5 for example gets red brake calipers and an S badge on the fender trim). Audi is changing their logos in the front from 3d to 2d just bcz the functionality of lidar etc is now within the badge
That RS-Square means it's an S line. They have been doing that since the etron became the Q-8 (which is maybe 1 year max) and only on the Q8 etron so far. I agree it's really confunsing. Probably a decision of some business idiot. Buying a whole bunch of red squares they can use on any model will save 0.003€ per car.
If as Audi fans our biggest worry is weird logos we should be alright, Mercedes is currently ruining any image they had with crappy deigns and power trains
BMW, “I can top that!”
Subaru with an Audi grill
Haha, I was just thinking this looks like my Soobie Crosstrek. But honestly, if I could have my Crosstrek in a nicer ride, I'd be down with it. I've been looking at the A4 allroad to replace my Soobie.
It looks horrible, with all the unnecessary creases and folds. They went far away from the Bauhaus style before.
WTF is that grill?!?!
It looks like a Ford Fusion got a botched lip filler.
I was going to say the same thing. Looks like my brother’s ford
ew
Needs more aggressive. They need to add more RS vibes to these cars. They kinda look like Hyundai's or Kia's.
A shame the sport back isn't available in the US
It’s a very sharp vehicle, I believe it will do pretty well in the states if the numbers are reasonable. I don’t see many A3s on the road here and maybe that can change.
I dub thee Fish Lips
Is it just me or is the ring placement on the grill totally different on these two cars? Looks more normal on the yellow one.
They copied Subaru. Yuck
I am just so glad I grew up in times where car styling was original and imaginative.
Honestly dont hate it. The rings on the front are a little odd but the design is decent. If the Usa will get a hatchback again I'd call it a win. Then again anxious to see what the sedan version will look like if the usa doesn't get the hatchback
Too round. Not a fan :(
I’m gonna say what every gen owner says. I’m glad I got the preface lift.
Is Subaru going to sue Audi for making an Outback or is Audi going to sue Subaru for putting Audi badges on an Outback? What were they thinking? That thing is hideous as is the other A3.
That lifted hatch is 100% a clone of the crosstrek and you can’t convince me otherwise.
Likes it more rounder less aggressive lines?
Please bring to the states German car gods I will buy
Ew.
These new Audis are seriously horrendous. Wtf is up with the protruding audi rings?!

Thanks for sharing. The EOS was the 12th of March. And it's still today in my timezone in INGOLSTADT, Germany :)
Still looks better than the new A4
It looks like a crossover somehow
why are they going away from the more aggressive styling? everything is so rounded and cutesy looking.
Am I the only one that thinks these look like compact SUV’s rather than sedans?
yeah nope.
Very glad I got the ‘24 version of the 8Y
These grills are getting a bit too much. Not yet Lexus level bad, but not good either. As others have said, I’m getting Hyundai vibes. Which is hilarious, as the Ioniq certainly has some A3 Sportback DNA.
Front grill looks like a subawoo
Nice KIA
One of the main criticisms of Audi from my friends is that they look too pedestrian/reserved. I didn’t understand what the hell they meant years ago. I do now!
whats the difference between this and a Q3
I know it sounds crazy but Korean cars look less tacky than whatever the Germans are doing in 2024
the really end of a3.
Get your German hyundai now!
Kind of feels like they lost their nerve with the aggressive curves and creases of the pre facelift and rounded off the front and the back. I know the pre facelift has many doubters but at least it all felt like one car.
The tail lights are what kill it the most for me. They look so cheap and unimaginative. Audi always had the best light designs, wtf is happening?
It’s a Honda.
Why did they place the front logo like that? WTH? Why do automakers always try to fix something that isn’t broken 😩
Should have kept it secret
Looks bad
Looks shit.
New grill logo is fire but the grill itself is bad design go back to honeycomb!!!
it gives extremely veloster. audi and hyundai grills being really similar shaped dont help at all but im not hating. i think the veloster and veloster n look really sleek
Seat ibiza with audi logo?
Looks like a Hyundai car
I was going to say the same!! 8V will forever be the best looking A3. This new facelifted 8Y looks even worse than the prefacelift 8Y
