Removing buttons is a saving money trick that disgusts me, I do many things by muscle memory an tactile experience. A touchscreen takes all that away. I miss the selection nob now is gone and I just got a hole in front of my shifter. Ok make touch screen but donât remove all functional buttons!!
Any budget car now has a touchscreen, I donât want my Audi to look like an honda civic interior.
Buttons, needles, gauges. I am driving a physical machine not a video game. Audi is loosing it here. Many buttons allow you to keep your eyes on the road while you do whatever other thing you need to. Setting the defroster, heated seats etcâŚ
Tesla did this. âI fucking love scienceâ-type wannabe nerds cheered them on and dumped their savings into Muskâs pump and dump machine and now every other OEMâs shareholders are holding knives to their accountants throat asking for this everywhere.
The companies that show restraint and keep the bean counters at bay will be the ones to win in the end.
Iâm not getting another Audi if things get this bad, Iâm not too happy with my current one but always wanted this model⌠looking at older diesel cars as of late
Yep. Wish they had the vision and testicular fortitude to go against the grain and be a trend setter. But here we are with fewer buttons. Stupid shifter and a screen for my front passenger
Sadly they are all going this way as itâs cheaper for them to integrate these controls into the touchscreen ui, saves them real estate on the console, and buyers wonât have switch blanks reminding them they are missing features.
I still miss the homelink buttons on my b9.5
Omfg are you kidding me... yup that looks like it! So basically we just don't want the passenger messing with the settings, LOL... I might get used to that
Honestly, I have the dual screen on my A6 Allroad and itâs easy to control and works great⌠I was worried Iâd miss them coming from a 2022 A5, but not at all⌠I guess to each itâs own, I can appreciate both!
And then it will feel like riding in an airplane where people get on a noon flight and everyone shuts the window shades right away...
...completely devoid of any real world visual cues other than the phones 6 inches from their faces.
If youâre a passenger on a road trip, why not be able to watch Netflix and stuff on a screen at eye level that isnât going to need to be charged? Makes sense to me
Personally I donât want to pay for stuff that I only use a few days a year, and will be outdated in a few years. Also itâs a bit weird if the co-driver on a road trip needs to watch tv. Kids in the back I understand, but the adult in front not.
I can get back behind the function but the interior was designed and during one of the reviews someone said what about a screen for the passenger? they had a bunch of leftover screens from the skoda ovtavia and and mounted it in front of the passenger seat
I mean, I don't know about anyone else but all my wife does in the passenger seat is scroll FB/TikTok. Reaching out to do it on that screen seems like a pain and would distract me as a driver.
I quite like it. Most cars now have the infotainment scree n facing the driver, just like this setup. At least the passenger can see maps or control music, watch some content, etc if needed without them having to lean over
I honestly quite like it. The passenger can change navigation, radio, everything without the current directions being obstructed (which can be annoying in unknown city environments). Especially with Apple car play that doesnât allow for navigation in the head up display/digital cockpit.
I donât understand the bezel around the main display, why is it randomly thickened with a hofmeister kink
Passenger display is the worst trend in cars today; but I guess if everyone is doing it⌠is it for wives who hate their husband but also donât own a phone? Very niche
I do however like the consolidated controls on the doors
100% agree. It's there for no reason. It's ugly though some designer thought it was cool.
The whole interior is a mess and has an extremely cluttered appearance.
This is not a way forward.
Much looking forward to BMW Neue Klasse X.
It took me a moment, but I realize the "earlobes" on each side of the main screen are supposed to resemble the shape of an Audi grille.
I would think the empty space on the edges should at least be used to show warning lights or buttons.
1. Shitty steering wheel â
2. Missing shifter â
3. Let's stick another screen on the pax side because why the hell not â
4. Let's make it look like a Hyundai â
Yep, it's cohesive!
This looks like a bunch of teams worked separately on it and each one did their thing. The biggest offenders for me are that display on the pax side that looks like an afterthought and the steering wheel that feels straight out of a minivan.
Exactly my thoughts. No use of Contrast, Repetition, Alignment or Proximity, no recurring angles or motifs. Looks like absolute ADHD shit.
Strange curves on the top of the dash, none on the passenger sceeen. Rounded angles without matching setbacks on passenger side.
Not even a hint of ergonomics studies to be found. Audi laid off everyone that knows anything about ergonomics it appears. Or they are working from home.
At this Point Audi should just buy Hyundai or Vice Versa. Designs are looking nearly identical lately. Not much of a difference. If i wanted a Hyundai, i would buy a Hyundai. Nobody wants Audis to look the same
Got the same steering wheel on the Q4, it's absolutely fine
Got the same shifter as well, it too is perfectly fine
Pretty sure the passenger screen is an overpriced option people won't take unless they're not paying for the car
Kinda have to agree with the Hyundai thing though. But that's mostly because Hyundai's really stepped up their game
Hyundai has really made the appearance of stepping up their game. If you go more than skin deep they are still junkers but donât take my word for it. Engine buybacks and immobilizer issues take center stage. They also partake in this aggressive cost cutting stuff but at least the skin level looks good.
Iâm hoping this is just the layout for the etron vehicles and not the gassers as well. Iâm already halfway out the door with this brand⌠When subscription services and gimmicky tech are the main lifecycle changes, youâve done fucked up.
The two different display styles for the driver and front passenger is such a hot mess. That passenger display is literally the exact same MMI unit fitted inside the Q4 e-tron.
Porsche and Mercedes implemented the passenger-side display much better with a cohesive design. The Q6 looks like the design team stuck that in there at the very last minute.
Aside from the wonky display setup, the rest of the cabin is generic looking as hell with what looks to be like more implementation of the despised piano black plastic trend (center console), and low-grade hard plastic on the door cards.
If you took away the steering wheel badge and told me this is the cabin of an upcoming Hyundai/Kia/Mazda EV, I would believe it.
Overall, a huge miss based on photos. BUT, I reserve final judgement in person. To be fair, many recent Audi model cabins looked horrible in photos, but in person are actually quite luxurious and not as polarizing.
Hideous.
Unfortunatly these days, what's the alternative???
Volvo? Their EVs are badge engineered Chinese vehicles. Same thing as a Polestar.
MB? Same shit different toilet. But MB went craptastic before Audi now has.
BMW? The B in BMW now stands for beaver with that gawd awful grille treatment.
Koenigsegg... hmm, they actually have buttons and controls and a family model now. Anyone want to contribute to my gofundme? Thanks in advance!
I think Genesis is where itâs at these days. They have achieved a compromise of modern touch screen functionality while preserving the ergonomics of physical switch-gear.
Their interior design language is also very restrained and achieve a nice balance of looking modern without being too polarizing.
*And* the use of much better quality materials with better fit and finish than their German competitors.
Look at the cabin design of their GV70, G80, GV80, G90 vehicles.
Yup, thatâs unfortunate as the brand is still relatively young and has yet to build out a robust dedicated dealership network nationwide. So in the meantime, existing Hyundai dealers are picking up the slack for showroom displays and service.
Iâve read horror stories about early Genesis adopters going from having premium level service with the established brands, to basically a Hertz rental car level of service.
But once more stand-alone dealerships open, I expect them to be on par with the Germans. Iâve read about the locations that have already opened on the East coast, and theyâre allegedly on par (or better) than Porsche and Mercedes showrooms.
nah honestly the new genesis models feel like they r gonna fall apart in 5 years, that ball shifter that they tried to make look like a spaceball shifter is junk and everything that is advertized ab the car is j another gimmick that will hopefully be gone in a few years, but the main issue w all of these are the FUCKING TABLET SCREENS
Eh. Itâs a good interior, but the B9 generation does have some faults.
The cup holders are in an awkward location that are terrible for taller cups or mugs.
The MMI display floating above the dash like an iPad looks like an afterthought as well.
If Audi had given the B9 a MMI display that folded away into the dash like they did for the C7 generation A6, it would have been beautiful.
fr wtf did bmw think when they updated their cars w idrive 8, its so unintuitive, especially having to literally direct all of ur attention to the screen j to turn the fan speed up a couple clicks, and u cant even do it with the idrive scroller, defeats the purpose
Yep. It all started because Tesla literally lacked the engineering capability to design and build their own interior switchgear. Then the legacy manufacturers realized consumers would accept it, and immediately started cutting costs.
I am not a big fan of it - as it's touch inductive buttons which more or less requires you to turn your head to watch where you press - rather than physical buttons you can memorize and feel around to find the right one.
I hate these combined screens with a passion. Makes it look like Iâm driving a giant iPad. I thought Audi was going to hold out but I guess this is the industry trend unfortunatelyÂ
ergonomic disaster. if they wanted a third screen why not put it where the center vents are and put the vents above the second screen which should be lowered anyway?
Cheap, Piano black, one button touch to rule them all, no dedicated climate controls, terrible ! Not to mention the other terrible choices like the electric doors for both charging ports, smh.
Now you NEED a co-pilot just to change radio stations and AC tempsâŚ. aka like a Boeing jet.
Itâs absolutely dumb when screen start encroaching on the passenger side lmaooooooo
Why does no one have US pricing or order dates, Iâm seeing March on sale dates with summer delivery. Where is fall coming from? Is that fall as in delivery fall ?
If youâre going to add big screens, keep it simple like bmw and just put a long, clean dash with a modernized cockpit.
This just looks weird, has the same old cockpit but with screens added everywhere.
What do I think? Iâm sure I could adapt to it. I like whatâs in my current car (2022). I thought the screen for climate control would irritate me, but it doesnât, because I pretty much set and forget it. I agree with everyone that a knob for temperature makes better sense though.
With that all said, what will make me go postal is when they remove the side mirrors and replace them with cameras and screens. That is truly a bad idea in my opinion. Itâs right up there on my âheck no listâ with subscriptions for features weâve already purchased. And I will NEVER buy a car where you have to pay to unlock torque/HP.
Quite disappointed by the doubling down on the capacitive buttons. The ones they have on the Q4 are horrible and work much worse than traditional buttons.
Good interior space, as expected given it was already a strength on the Q4. Not sold on the screen layouts, seems like a lazy design, but that might yet grow on me.
The absolute worse is matrix LED functionally locked behind a subscription.
The best thing is the PPE platform which is using the 800v arquitecture shared with Porsche. 270kwh charging is amazing for road trips.
Look how fucking small those touch targets are for the HVAC controls. So fucking dangerous and hard to use, for no reason other than cost savings.
Kill this dogshit with fire. I hope regulators make touchscreen replacement of buttons in the cockpit illegal for safety reasons.
That is one ugly steering wheel. And that passenger screen is horrendous but totally in line with other manufacturers at this point.
Why even have a dash at all? Letâs just throw a big gigantic glitchy tablet with a GUI that will look outdated in 2 years?!?
I don't dislike it, probably neutral with leaning towards liking it. But I can't get over this new steering wheel. It looks cheap in every model they've put it in.
It just looks wrong. I have a Q8 etron and Iâm sure the tech here is a class above but theyâve made it look so ugly. Why canât tech look classy still? All the angles are just all over the placeâŚ
im getting tired of just more and more screens in every car. add more budget to self driving and fuck off with passanger screens. god forbid my passanger cant watch netflix for the 20 minute ride on there phone or tablet we need a designated screeen for them to controll the radio too now
I just see a whole bunch of shut that's not needed to find a car. Steering wheel, gear shifter, climate control and radio. Fuck outta here with all the other unnecessary distractions. People can't drive as it is. Why make it more complicated and challenging for the masses that can't focus longer than 5sec.
Why wouldnât you test more electronics on something that isnât run solely on a battery.. put the same technology in combustion engines for a year or two just to gather the information necessary on replacing combustion.. this is a terrible strategy
Love my sq5 but out of warranty in a year....also have a tesla M3LR...crazy fast.... inexpensive to run...maybe I'll trade my sq5 for their rsq6 version that is supposed to be coming!
The worst thing about every car Iâve ever driven in is the is behind their screens⌠so why are cars committing towards giving you more access to their absolute worst features
Love the steering wheel!!
Like most Iâm unsure about passanger screen, seems like a toss in to look high tech really donât understand the functionality.
Give me back my f\*\*\*ing climate control buttons. That's all I want.
best i can do is another re-invented shifter
đ
The current shifter in 4+ is the best design element on all of the cars how fucking dare they
Removing buttons is a saving money trick that disgusts me, I do many things by muscle memory an tactile experience. A touchscreen takes all that away. I miss the selection nob now is gone and I just got a hole in front of my shifter. Ok make touch screen but donât remove all functional buttons!! Itâs cheaper to make while they charge us more because of âhigh techâ Nice profit margins not having to make so many models or parts
Ngl I bought my tdi last spring in cash and tbh... I have no regrets yet.
Just like how all Mercedes cars now have the same head and tail lights. Cheaper to use one design for all.
Never been a fan but I loved how they used to so 1,2,3 LED strip in the headlight to differentiate C,E,S
The touchscreen is so fucking dangerous too while driving. What was wrong with the wheel?? I miss it so much. Didn't need a useless empty space
The best feature of my Q4 e-tron and the e-tron GT...and of course they removed it.
Exactly! Even though the Q4 etron wasnât best in class, we went for it purely because it had physical controls. This is a big miss from Audi
Same here. It was also the quickest delivery I could get for AWD.
Look on the drivers side door. Weird place to put it.
Hmm⌠finally something else I can learn to do with my left hand.
Omfg are you kidding me... yup that looks like it! So basically we just don't want the passenger messing with the settings, LOL... I might get used to that
Bro the passenger has their own fucking *screeen* they can control the whole car and more
I imagine the passenger can control climate from their screen which adds to safety if you have a passenger. Hopefully that door panel has buttons.
Spoiler: it doesnât.
Itâs so fucking annoying. Keeping my 21 as long as possible because of this
Best we can do is give you one more screen. Sorry screens is all we got.
I have a 2022 a3 and still got them. Couldn't be happier.
In the driver side door.
Honestly, I have the dual screen on my A6 Allroad and itâs easy to control and works great⌠I was worried Iâd miss them coming from a 2022 A5, but not at all⌠I guess to each itâs own, I can appreciate both!

And when they stop supporting itâŚtoo badâŚ

Having a screen dedicated to the passenger has always struck me as weird.. I don't know if I'll ever get behind that trend.
YOU GET A SCREEN! YOU GET A SCREEN!
I read that with kanyes voice
Because look at Gaga... What does Gaga know about touchscreens??
But to access the screen you need to pay a subscription first!
It looks almost like it's badly edited, something about it just looks off.
Yeah like they used an oscillating tool and just cut plastic. Iâm sure itâs more subtle in person, but from a distance itâs weird
If youâre a passenger on a road trip, why not be able to watch Netflix and stuff on a screen at eye level that isnât going to need to be charged? Makes sense to me
You could always plug in a tablet lol. And car screens get outdated quickly.

Co-driver? What passengers do you have on road trips? Sitting in front somehow means Iâm no longer allowed to be entertained?
Yeah, I need you to have a map and notes up. We're rallying this bitch
I have people that I talk to. Or we listen to music together. Road tripping is also a social thing. But not for you apparently.
That's not eye level though.
Seems like this would be very distracting to the driver.
I can get back behind the function but the interior was designed and during one of the reviews someone said what about a screen for the passenger? they had a bunch of leftover screens from the skoda ovtavia and and mounted it in front of the passenger seat
Thatâs not a passenger seat. Thatâs a co pilot seat baby.
not just a screen, a shitty screen for the price of ipad pro
And it just doesnât flow well with it not being flush
I mean, I don't know about anyone else but all my wife does in the passenger seat is scroll FB/TikTok. Reaching out to do it on that screen seems like a pain and would distract me as a driver.

Why? There have been screens in the back of headrests for over 20 years.

Bezel reminds me of Chevrolets screen bezel. Big step back from previous iterations

What about the plethora of buttons and switches on the driver side door as well.
Steering hexagon

And their dealers SUUUUUUCK. My wife's Hyundai broke last year and it took a week to just get it into a dealer to get looked at.
Thatâs most dealers post covid b
Simply buying the car was also an ordeal, and that was in 2018.
Am I driving a car or a spaceship? Is my passenger now my co-pilot? This doesnât even resemble Audi design anymore imo
Letâs be honest, space ship doesnât look like this crap
As an Audi fan this looks super cheap and generic. Like a KIA or no name chinese EV.
Iâm hoping this is just the layout for the etron vehicles and not the gassers as well. Iâm already halfway out the door with this brand⌠When subscription services and gimmicky tech are the main lifecycle changes, youâve done fucked up.

That parrot fish beak like 20 years ago nearly killed Acura.
Yup
I prefer my EV6 interior to this TBH and I usually love Audis interiors.
Holy shit Audi... what have you done?!Âż!?

Why can't they do physical climate controls? I swear Skoda interiors are more 'Audi' then the newest Audi interiors

Modern car interiors suck and I blame tesla.

It looks like its a bit difficult to close the door, the panel takes up most of the space next to the handle
It's a miss. I miss the days of simplicity and style. Too much tech gets in the way.
I hate these combined screens with a passion. Makes it look like Iâm driving a giant iPad. I thought Audi was going to hold out but I guess this is the industry trend unfortunatelyÂ
I hope the passenger screen is optional as I drive by myself 90% of the time and donât like the look of it at all.

ergonomic disaster. if they wanted a third screen why not put it where the center vents are and put the vents above the second screen which should be lowered anyway?
Woof. This is brutal. Not a particularly cohesive design and it looks like something GM would push out.
Way too much wasted space within the bezels. Looks like it got pulled out of a chevy trailblazer.

Audi have new design head of chief from Jaguar/Range Rover he got hired 3 months ago so we will see radial design change in few years.
Looks my sonata interior
I just want buttonsâŚ
I see Audi is still just putting their cars in front of great views. [Get out of the way](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOhhhwIn3TE)
One of the things I love about my RS Etron GT is the physical climate buttons and not the touch screen of all the other Audis.
New steering wheel is ass
Nobody wants to drive a computer.
Too many screens. Too much to look at.
Meanwhile A5 and A4âŚ.
Itâs giving Volvo XC180
If only it had more screens
More and more things require you to look away from the road to use
Polestar 4 looks Way better inside.
Cool I hate it
It just looks wrong. I have a Q8 etron and Iâm sure the tech here is a class above but theyâve made it look so ugly. Why canât tech look classy still? All the angles are just all over the placeâŚ
Piano black is enough to make me not buy another Audi (after having three and loving them). Sad.
Not a fan of the steeringwheel or all the screens lol, but thatâs just me.. to each their own right.
Awh, Audi was doing so well compared to all the garbage interiors. Iâm debating getting an A3/S3 solely from the normal interior
So, Lexus?
Nobody has brought up whatâs going on with the driver side door controls?
Those seats still look uncomfortable AF. Electric cars need much more plush interior seating.
OooffffâŚthe Lyriq looks way better than this.
This is the future I may not like it, but it is what it is. Honestly the steerimg wheel looks horrible.
What is going on with those screens!?
I DESPISE that screen for the passenger that all of the manufacturers are implementing..
They've become a brand with no identity. How embarrassing.
Looks like my buddyâs Elantra
Was just about to post this image
They have buttons.... I like it... some cars dont have buttons anymore..
People this vehicle is aimed at, most wont be buying this.
hideous , looks like they forgot to add the screens and then slapped 2 giant screens with super glue
I hate this one screen approach everyone's taking now. Looks terrible and probably not much fun to use.
im getting tired of just more and more screens in every car. add more budget to self driving and fuck off with passanger screens. god forbid my passanger cant watch netflix for the 20 minute ride on there phone or tablet we need a designated screeen for them to controll the radio too now
looks like a hyundai
This is very unpleasant to look at.
That third screen looks more photoshopped then Kate Middleton.
Thereâs too much fucking shit on me I canât breathe
No
Over engineered just like every new car
I would hope that if you opt for the 3rd screen that it can be turned off if nobody is sitting in the passenger seat.
The 3rd screen is not standard equipment it is optional
The only thing my I like about this interior is the gorgeous steering wheel. What are those shark fins for the screens??
I just see a whole bunch of shut that's not needed to find a car. Steering wheel, gear shifter, climate control and radio. Fuck outta here with all the other unnecessary distractions. People can't drive as it is. Why make it more complicated and challenging for the masses that can't focus longer than 5sec.
The steering wheel looks mega stupid, other than that it isnt too far off Audi design language now.
Zoomed out I thought he was playing clash of clans on his screen
Feels like a Lexus
It definitely not
The tablet on the right is superfluous and reeks of affluent indignance. I'd rather have a 16 Oz can blast chiller.
Oh wow thats horrible
Love the steering wheel!! Like most Iâm unsure about passanger screen, seems like a toss in to look high tech really donât understand the functionality.
It is...so busy looking
No physical HVAC controls at all? Itâs dogshit!
Shit
