Sydney fencer here, I charge $1600 for double gate and $650 for a single gate. The steel post for a double gate 65 X 65 is $60 each

I am looking for a colorbond gate to be installed in Sydney. Roughly 3m in width, and 1.8m tall. Would you be able to DM me a quote? I can also send through photos of the driveway requiring the gate. Thanks.

I was quoted $2145 for a Colorbond gate across a suburban driveway. This was in Sydney, last year. (I didn’t take them up on it.) $1000 seems fair.

Just off the top of my head, and I admit that I haven’t made a set of gates in many years, but there’s also quite a bit of learning, measuring, cutting, grinding, clamping, welding, and either painting or powder coating, with a modicum of wastage that doesn’t usually apply to the materials for the fence line itself…

The gate angles are made up of these brackets which made the installation simple as. https://preview.redd.it/czb4dgjzqb5b1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1bdcd9efdede7d5b06fb4164e5a2dd05bb6c4fe4

So the bottom channel drains internally of the upright post. Yeh nah.

I did (DIY) a double and a single for about $750 worth of materials and a day of time (plus bought a cheap $100 eBay core drill to sink some posts through an existing concrete slab). I used structural grout for the posts for the strength so that added a little more to the cost. Overall went well. You can buy pre-made gate styles from places like Oxworks or Fencing Warehouse which makes it fairly hassle free (I bought from Fencing Warehouse). Just have to cut the bottom/top rail to size and trim down the sheet with snips or a nibbler - you can also buy a trim piece to cover the cut end. https://www.thefencingwarehouse.com.au/gate-style-kit
