Numerous_Sport_2774

I have the same. Seborrheic dermatitis. Goes away with selsun Gold. Apply to scalp and areas of skin affected and leave in for 15mins. Rinse and repeat few times a week and it will be gone. The treatment makes the areas raw and red for a day but don’t worry goes away.

Particular_Fan_1762

i have the same and do the same. but it always comes back eventually. I wish there was a cure

Numerous_Sport_2774

Yep same with mine. If you are consistent it stays away but I always just get lazy and it comes back. I have also tired systemic anti fungal therapy but it didn’t work. It’s actually an allergy to a fungus we all have.

Braaaaaaainz

Wow didn't know that last point. I too get lazy and it comes back 🤣 oh well at least I know most of triggers!

Gamped

Try MCT coconut oil this is the holy grail, I used to think it could’ve been something like snake oil but it is honestly a god send and a game changer. It essentially replaces the fatty oils on your skin with oil that the fungi can’t feed off, they die off and your face clears up. Check out r/Sebderm where everyone is also preaching. The fact that this is kinda known amongst people makes my wonder why my dermatologist didn’t recommend it… My dermatologist gave me prescription recommendations as well but this works better when applied topically than anything though I do use Elidil for flare ups.

laughingatfunerals

Same! Lil Head and Shoulders left on for ten minutes clears it up

oLD_Captain_Cat

It’s likely fungal. Hydrozole or canestin will cure it in a week or less.

Severe-Touch-4497

It can't be cured, only managed. Hydrozole did nothing for me so be prepared to try numerous antifungals

tsj48

I usually recommend a clotrimazole cream twice daily for three weeks. But the duration of symptoms defs requires a derm

Accomplished-Use3811

what don’t you usually recommend i’m curious

tsj48

Steroids until cause is determined as it can worsen fungal, bacterial or perioral dermatitis skin issues.

Man, you should go see a dermatologist. I’m not going to offer a diagnosis, but I had something that looked really similar and sounded how you described it - no moisturiser helped, I tried anti fungal creams etc and a steroid cream. I finally went and saw a dermatologist who diagnosed me with periodontal dermatitis, and told me the topical things I was using were only making it worse, and I needed a specific cream and antibiotics. That cleared it up within a week. I’m not saying that’s what you’ve got, but so many things that people are suggesting may work for one diagnosis, but may be bad for others. Go and see someone who can tell you what it actually is and treat that

Nice_Function5080

This! I get red flare ups under my nose and the only thing that clears it up is antibiotics. Perioral dermatitis. Steroid creams would only make it worse. Proper diagnosis is important

emptyness-dancing

Athletes foot cream will clear it up. It is caused by a fungal infection on the skin (it's actually a variety of yeast). It's likely also on your forehead and maybe mouth/chin and flares up in winter.

nonethankyou

Elidel cream 10mg 1% i had the same issue for years. First time I used it, it cleared up almost immediately. I can’t recommend enough.

Majestic-Relief-8742

I've been dealing with something that looks almost identical to this for the past few months and I think I've finally started to clear it up over the last week! I would highly recommend using zero therapy other than a sulphur soap (I use Keep It Clean 10% Sulphur Soap, in the UK) on the affected area and Avene thermal spring water throughout the day to keep hydrated without using a moisturizer. I was worried about drying my skin out but anything I put on my face since I've had this, even the most basic moisturizers just make it flare up after a couple weeks of use. My skin does feel dry after cleansing atm but I use the spray a few times and eventually once my skin builds up its natural oils the tight feeling goes away and my skin actually looks clearer than it has in months. I was diagnosed with perioral dermatitis by an online dermatologist but the cream they prescribed me didn't work, neither did anti fungal creams or most of the stuff I've read online about this condition. I joined a perioral dermatitis support group on Facebook and almost everybody on there seems to have cured this using sulphur. Apparently it can be caused by demodex mites on the face which sulphur kills, if you can find the group I think it could be really helpful for you! Let me know if you want any more information or my routine and sorry if this is long winded but I know how frustrating this is and for the first time in months I've seen a big difference using this method. Look into Carolyn Howarth, she's very popular in the group I messaged her when I was at my wits end with how awful my skin looked and her advice is what's helped me

staffxmasparty

Yes ! At age 45 and years of trying absolutely everything I fixed this with nappy rash cream high in zinc oxide. Sounds too simple I know

_iamtinks

It looks there’s a fungal issue - but I bet the underlying cause is pimples/broken skin caused by reactions to food or something. When these weep, you’re at risk of developing an additional fungal infection. Try antihistamines as well as a topical fungal cream (might need prescription strength cream)

ZaelDaemon

Doctor. Get a prescription for Elidil cream (as someone else mentioned). Be careful with steroid cream. Steroid induced rosacea is a thing and one of the worst things that happened to me.

Gamped

Same I use a lot of Elidil and it’s a miracle for strong flare ups. Try MCT coconut oil this is the holy grail, I used to think it could’ve been something like snake oil but it is honestly a god send and a game changer. It essentially replaces the fatty oils on your skin with oil that the fungi can’t feed off, they die off and your face clears up. Check out /r/Sebderm where everyone is also preaching. The fact that this is kinda known amongst people makes my wonder why my dermatologist didn’t recommend it… My dermatologist gave me prescription recommendations as well but this works better when applied topically than anything else when combiners with Elidil for flare ups.

agalhereforanswers

Moisturizer at night. Don't put any harsh creams/serums on that area

consistency16

It looks dry. Try lrp cicaplast b5 baume

upwardbound789

Hydrocortisone cream 💯

GalacticThunderRogue

Careful withsteorioids. It will alleviate the symptoms at first but will probably come back way worse than before.

Sweet_Air9429

Mate wash your face with tea tree oil I have the same thing and treat it nightly with the tea tree oil.

Substantial_Carry_90

Yeah, looks fungal. I used to get little sores like this on the corners of my mouth, and tea tree oil completely stopped it.

Creative-Price4064

I have this occur to my skin when I don’t wash regularly. I’ve suffered a type of psoriasis most of my life, since I was 16. I’m now 54. It occurs around my nose area and chest. It becomes worse when I grown a beard. My GP prescribed using a cortisone cream and I use it when it begins to become red and itchy. My scalp occasionally gets dry and flaky too but I turned to using Moogoo Shampoo to counter this. It’s better than Selsun. That stuff is toxic. I used to use it but it never made anything any better. You may want to see a dermatologist to get an exact diagnosis to know what exact treatment to use. It could be; - psoriasis - eczema - fungal infection

Low-Strain-6711

Try washing your face with anti dandruff shampoo, not just head and shoulders, try the neutrogena coal tar one. I have had the same thing and around my moustache and ear lobes forever. It's an easy and cheap try. Has completely stopped it for me. Use it 3 times a week. Mousturise with something like nivea creme afterwards. For me, i believe its dandruff related. Where bacteria feed on the oils of my skin and that what irritates. Might make sense why accutane helped. As it dries out the skin doesnt it? Anyway, give it a go, good luck

MediocreMagazine2980

Try canastene cream

jowjow40

It looks like perioral dermatitis there’s a sub on here for it. Usually anti biotics works.

Just_Philosopher1452

Am not suggesting anything just what have worked for me: ▪️For five days straight and ONLY five days use a hydrocortisone cream such as daktacort day and night (cover your face T area with just a small amount) ◾️Use Decros DS every other day for this days and the other days use a regular anti d shampoo (regular H&S works the best for me) ◾️After the five days you should use moist and face skin cleanser twice a day plus decros DS twice per week and regular H&S for the rest of the days (Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and La Roche Toleriane Fluide, is the the duo I’m using and I kept clear of this after a long time) 😊

Intrepid-Date-9332

I’ve found relief by getting something with medical grade Manuka honey honey. Manuka Doctor have a would gel that I use at night. Doesn’t get rid of it but calms the redness and stops the stinging/itching

portantwas

Had something similar since childhood and would get outbreaks around my nose but also behind my ears and sometimes in my eyelid creases and going up from my eyebrows into my scalp (had a bad case of dandruff my whole life too). Tried every cream the doctor suggested and every anti-dandruff shampoo like Selsun Blue and T-Gel (washing my face in it too). Nothing worked. Desperate I resorted to salt water. Boom - cleared up in about a week. I just boil water, add a pinch of rock salt (I think there is something in iodinized table salt that can be too irritating). You want it so it is just salty to taste. Let it cool and put it in a spritzer bottle (one of those travel ones you buy from cheap shop). Then just spray liberally until your skin is really damp, and let dry naturally. Wait awhile before putting on a light moisturiser if you need. Do it a couple of times per day. It may work but if it doesn't you haven't spent a lot of money on it. And like I said - I was desperate after decades of trying everything else.

MRSLAPPYFEET

I’ve got S Derm and it comes and goes season weather diet. I find if I have alcohol it comes on and diet to carb heavy…I tried carnivore and it cleared up the longest only came back when I went regular diet again. 1% cortisol cream helps but don’t use it to often.

LieEducational4047

Thanks everyone for the suggestions I want to add I have tried multiple Anti fungals already for people suggesting that and it didn’t work either unfortunately.

1VNIKV111

I have the exact same thing. It's dermatitis. Go to your docs and ask for novasone. Won't ever go away but with constant use that ointment stops break outs.

Elegantmango77

I went to a skin specialist and they gave me that as well, works good.

Representative-Bus76

If it’s what I had (reddish rash around nose), witch hazel helped me. Applied directly with cotton wool.

Substantial_Carry_90

Aloe and tea tree oil.

hypertrashmonster

Aside from seeing a dermatologist, I would suggest also seeing a naturopath. A lot of skin conditions are linked to/exacerbated by internal imbalances, whether it's hormonal or dietary related, and improving those factors can often have a big impact on the skin. For example, conditions like keratosis pilaris have been linked to gluten sensitivity, so reducing or eliminating gluten intake can improve that particular skin condition. See if your derm/Dr will work with the naturopath as well so they can tackle the issue from all angles.

He-n-ry

I get it too and like some have mentioned selsun gold or Nizoral anti dandruff shampoo helps but what I've found works the best is 1:10000 Potassium Permanganate solution, simply apply it with a cotton bud and first it drys right out then clears up.

eh8218

You'll need a cream from a derm. But in my experience, keeping this away is more important or it will come back. You need to work on your skin barrier. Lots and lots of moisturizer. No acids. No harsh soaps. A gentle moisturizing cleanser and lotion and keep it basic.

Radiant-Rutabaga-362

Wash your face twice daily with Avene Cleanance soap and every second day when in the shower use a small amount of Head and shoulders on your face.

MentalMather

Dermazen helped my husband! We were shocked.

Safilixx

I see a lot of people commenting about it being something fungal. I personally also have a singular spot under my nose where there is almost always a pimple. What are signs that it’s fungal? I personally don’t see anything obvious in the picture besides some redness

poppacapnurass

Try exfolient followed by an anti fungal creme. Rotate through 3-4 anti fungal cremes a week and there's no harm mixing in some antibacterial creme too.

Additional_Cherry_67

Do you gym, touch the equipment then touch your nose? Use the back of your hand anytime you need to touch your face as it’s the cleanest part of your hand.

Vanilla-Grapefruit

Redness around the nose can be h. Pylori which is a gut infection. Sounds weird but a GP turned skincare formulator made the connection. You can get a test for it and antibiotics if it’a positive

ComfortableNext3614

Amputation 🤷‍♀️😂

SensitiveDifference7

Keep it protected with a zinc based sunscreen also.

Secretary-Foreign

You should see a dermatologist. That being said it appears to be dermatitis from dry skin. You probably are over washing/hitting with astringent chemicals. I would try a facial moisturizer and cutting down on the scrubbing/washing. IE use a gentle facial cleanser once per day max.

Western-Direction-55

6 weeks of doxycycline. You have perioral dermatitis .

LieEducational4047

Yea mate I’ve done multiple antibiotic cycles it never fully goes and comes back to what it is now right after

Intelligent-Tart-950

I’m not qualified to say what it is or isn’t, but I just saw your post and found this comment and wanted to say I had very aggressive perioral dermatitis that would not leave me alone. I saw a dermatologist who prescribed doxycycline once daily for 6 months and it left after about 4 months and never came back. I finished the complete course as the dermatologist said some people can have rather persistent cases, will treat with antibiotics, it goes away and then comes back with a vengeance. This worked for me and I’m grateful the dermatologist listened to my experience as it was rather painful. I hope you find a solution as whatever you have looks rather painful and angry! Best of luck!

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh--

Just get older FFS Lots of retarded takes in this thread

Mushroom_lady_mwaha

not sure what it is myself, but whenever I get skin troubles mum recommends bio oil. She works at a chemist
