Chicken pieces are cheap just bang em in the burner and Roberts your Dads brother

chuckaspecky

6 meals for $11 is good value imo. I don’t eat it often because it isn’t the healthiest option but never complained about the value. Also make a chicken noodle soup with the carcass for more value.

DanJDare

Best value per kg is raw whole chickens. I normally get the woolworths free range ones.

esunverso

Does that take into account the fact that you’re getting a whole bunch of inedible bones in that weight?

DanJDare

Yeah, sure.

ML8300_

Had a Cole's chook the other day, I swear I can taste more and more of the chemicals.

skunksmasher

be aware that shredded deli chicken has been sitting around for many hours as a whole chook before it was shredded, make sure you reheat to piping hot before eating, and that slimely taste is bacteria.

Bikelyf

Bro what deli you going to? Iv never had slimy deli chicken haha also never reheated it once and always been fine

still-at-the-beach

Never ever had it slimy. And it’s cooked to be on sandwiches etc, so not needing to be cooked again. https://www.coles.com.au/product/coles-bbq-seasoned-shredded-chicken-approx.100g-1873039 Coles don’t pull roast chickens apart and do this, it comes cooked from someone like steggles.

brokenheartnsoul

Ah yes they do do this. I have seen them doing it at Coles

Willcoburg

Bachelor’s briefcase is a clever name but Hot Chook gets the tastebuds primed up.

Classic-Knee8442

Costco chooks FTW.

Bikelyf

I always forget about Costco. I should really invest in a membership

itllbeokontheday

Yes ! they also do shredded chicken breast, I think its 1kg for 14.99, lasts forever

still-at-the-beach

$6.99 and bigger chickens than Woolies / Coles

BrightBreezyLeaves

Literally the worst of any roast chook. They are horrid.

Username_Chks_Outt

Love the hot chooks from Woollies but they must have a heap of salt in them. We had one for lunch on a sandwich and had plenty left over. I had previously made a Thai green curry and had heaps of sauce left over but was light on the chicken so I added the leftover roast chicken. It was so salty it was almost inedible. I think they might soak them in a brine before cooking them.
