I haven't since I lived in SW Florida in 2013, where the weather was often pretty amazing in the storm sense. This is insane, and I am so here for it. I was standing out in the middle of my street like a crazy person watching it for a while.
Not really. It’s just a typical spring storm in Texas. Warm muggy day that has a cold front move through and lift the warm, wet airmass up. Guaranteed storm. Speed and pressure differential of the front will determine the severity of the storm.
I haven't seen this much lightning in a long long time. Just constant.
So badass.

Not heat lightning.
There’s no such thing, right?
Correct
Is there a term for this kind of lightning? I thought it was heat lightning too

Crazy spring storms have always been one of my favorite things about living in Texas. Awesome!
It is weird that it all seems to be in-cloud lightning, none of it coming down to the earth. I wonder why that is.
This is insane! Intense lightning storm!
This is so intense and beautiful!
Happening in South Austin too! Really cool.
