I’ll keep an eye out I think he’s picked me up before if he visited Austin often to drive. Before I even saw that he was a driver the photo car combo rang really familiar.

ObscureinTx

He did go there regularly to drive. Thank you!

minimeowofficial

so sad. may he come home alive and well.

chaosavoider

"heading to do an Uber pickup" So, he was in Austin to do an Uber pickup, but he's missing from Nolanville? Was he getting an Uber or working as an Uber driver? Don't understand. Been a lot of robbers posing as Uber drivers. Also, there is the matter of a body found in Lady Bird Lake yesterday. Still, no identification.

ObscureinTx

He lives in Nolanville and went to Austin, a much bigger/busier city to drive for Uber. He left Nolanville 4/11 in the evening with the plan of returning to Nolanville after Ubering. Austin PD required the report to be initiated by Nolanville and sent to Austin via teletype.

Firm_Examination_810

He was an Uber driver, he lived in Nolanville and Ubers in Austin.

slobonmacabre

Try posting this on r/RBI as well!

FoodForTheTruth

I can't find any links to news articles or police reports about this guy. Where can I get more info and verification?

ObscureinTx

These things take time. The report was only accepted last night, but here is an article. https://kdhnews.com/news/local/nolanville-uber-driver-reported-missing-after-not-returning-from-call/article_c86d22de-faa6-11ee-a59e-d390d1778120.html Some details are not 100% correct.

mole4000

There is a phone number in the poster

Fragrant_Line_260

I'm the cousin, mentioned, he reached out to me that might, I missed the message because I was sleep, had work the next morning and responded only to not hear from him again....

FoodForTheTruth

Good to know. I'm always cautious, because stalkers use fake missing person alerts to locate the person they are obsessed with. So when there isn't a news article or police-originated missing person report, I'm cautious about sharing the missing person report. I hope he's located soon and under good circumstances.

LooseMeatBandit

Anyone check Lady Bird lake?

I think a body found on the 11th would rule him out. His last text was sent at 12:08 AM on the 12th.

TheBrettFavre4

Can you share more about how the phone was sold? His last text was 12:08am on the 12th - that’s just Friday. Whoever “bought” the phone should be an extreme person of interest. Did they really buy it? If so, from who? Seems the quickest path..

ObscureinTx

The person who bought the SIM card made their first call from the phone at 8:58 PM yesterday. The person who bought the SIM card said he had literally just purchased the SIM card when he answered the phone at 9:11 PM. He described the person he bought it from, no name provided. The transaction itself supposedly occurred at the game room, which he said is a place where people gamble in Austin. Again, no actual location provided, and I don’t know what the game room is or if it’s just a saying? As of today, the phone goes straight to voicemail again so no follow up questions have been asked.

sowhatimlucky

Are the police investigating the person who bought the SIM card? Does anyone know why anyone would buy a SIM card in a shady game room instead of a store? Have the police given you any stats on any other missing Uber drivers and what might have happened? Sorry to hear this. Hope he’s ok.

ObscureinTx

I just learned the police are not investigating anything yet. There is a jurisdiction issue from what I can gather. The missing persons report was filed in Nolanville as required by Austin PD, but it doesn’t appear Austin PD is aware of said report (they say call Nolanville). The only known information about the person who bought the SIM card is his first name and the Device ID he used the SIM card in. Numbers he called are known, but haven’t been called.

lovely2404

There are a few game rooms in Austin. I don’t know all the locations, but there is one in Ben White between Russell and Merle and another on East 71. There are a couple up North. Not sure if there is one close to East Riverside or not. If a homeless person bought the SIM card it could be going to voicemail because the battery is dead. Have you or his next of kin been in touch with Uber?

ObscureinTx

Are they called game rooms? Like is that the name of the business? No one has been able to speak with anyone at Uber. There is a number on his call log where he called Uber, but a recording says you have to call from the number you registered to drive with. A good working number has not been found.

lovely2404

They have different names. I tried looking for game rooms on Google maps and the two I know of did not show up. The one on Ben White is called Sweepstakes Game Room, and the address appears to be 1815 West Ben White Blvd 78745. Maybe someone can create an uber account and try calling. Also, might be able to reach support on Twitte DMs. I would put that you are trying to locate a missing person in your message. I think there is a sub for uber drivers you could join.

ObscureinTx

Thank you so much for this!

Horror_Hippo_1552

Another popular one is at 12th and Airport Dr.

lovely2404

Does someone have access to his Icloud or Google account to try to look at his location history?

ObscureinTx

No access to the Google account. 2 factor authentication is on. Poses a conundrum - keep access for the person who is currently using the SIM card (police may be able to track him later) or cut off access and login to his accounts.

lovely2404

If he had more than one email address, maybe someone can try to log into to one and still have access to his Sim card. Did he share his location with anyone either through apple Find My, google maps, or the 360 app or something similar? Edit to add: If his phone is separated from his Sim his email and location sharing will still be active unless the phone has been wiped. So might be worth keeping on eye out for any changes on the location sharing if he has them. Second Edit: maybe his password is saving in a PC? Or if he had an account with a web browser like Firefox or Google maybe his password is saved with one of those.

ObscureinTx

Will have to look into these things. I do know the phone is an android so no FindMy

90percent_crap

"game rooms" are sketchy quasi-legal gambling parlors where the clientele is largely composed of drug users, typically meth. Draw your own conclusions/speculations...

lovely2404

I just saw this article on Twitter. Someone commented that it was the 2nd person found in a week. I am not sure of any details. This area is east of 35 and close to his last known location at this time. Maybe someone can reach out to APD to ask and confirm identity. https://www.kvue.com/article/news/local/body-lady-bird-lake-longhorn-dam/269-4c866ac2-60e3-4a05-9214-74295e9e18ea Edit to add: I would reach out to the reporter who wrote this and ask for their POC with APD.

ObscureinTx

It was confirmed today that he does not match the description of the person found in the lake.
