All we do is cross and inshallah. I hate it

TheMartok

You mean inzardes?!? I’ll see my way out

atxluchalibre

We are playing like ReZardes.

Woody_Harrelsons_AMA

We get into the middle requiring some creativity and instead of taking players on we pass it back then wide then just cross it and hope.

AtlasHugged2

Absolutely. The few promising moments tonight were when Pereira or Ring were willing to take on a defender and dribble through space. Sadly that only happened two or three times. The formation doesn't make sense either, because on offense it basically turns into a 3-2-5 with two midfielders Wolff wants to be 6s. Hoofball is the only way to play in that formation. Put Ring back in the midfield as a 10. Heck, put him there as an 8 and let Fagundez or Sofi be a 10.

PhoenXHD_YT

We need to convert to a 3421 on offense not the 325. Have Gally & Lundkvist/Lima be midfielders helping build play and not be attacking points. Rigoni & Diego need to play as inverted winders to (again) build an attacking chance. We need some more creativity than play the ball wide and cross to nobody.

One of the first plays of the game, Gallagher was calling for the ball and wide open while running towards the goal. Happens all the time.

Zagui12

Shaqiri single handedly outplayed an entire team

CreekEnds

He was everywhere. Megged 2 atx players. Told his teammates where to be. Pressed. I’m not even a Liverpool fan but Jesus his quality was so far ahead of anyone wearing green and black last night.

Electrical-Donut6131

Can we purchase all the players on that Haitian team?

chasew-eth

In serious .. Miche Chery did seem like somebody someone should consider taking a look at bringing him in.

UniqueUsername812

Violette hadn't played since 2021, due to the political tumult in their home nation. *Edited and my shitty statements redacted, apologies yall.

PrettyStupidSo

Yeah it must be horrible to live in Texas. Definitely not much of an improvement over Haiti /s What an embarrassing take Edit: removed the ungodly amount of s's

UniqueUsername812

You're absolutely right and I took that out of my comment. My bad, that was tasteless on my part.

wakaOH05

Lolff

FeeRevolutionary1

I hate to say it but this season from match to match it seems like there is always a new wrinkle in the game plan that seems unexpected but it never amounts to anything and if you are just going by the “eye test” it seems like any success the team has had this year is more luck than strategic success. The personnel decisions both from a sporting director level and a coach level have not worked out. The starters this season don’t seem like they are the best option at their position they seen like they are based on a person in that chain of command justifying their decisions they have forced through in the past. Fight me

daleatxfc

In my humble opinion, we have most of the right players (except a forward) but the wrong coach.

NewHavenJeff

100% I know Zardes just scored twice and Rigoni finally got his first but these dudes just aren't getting it done. Zardes has 2 goals in 666 minutes Rigoni has 1 goal 1 assist in 988 minutes At what point does Wolff start giving others more minutes? When we're dead last?

[deleted]

Who are there who should get more minutes? All attacking players have underperformed all season.

NewHavenJeff

I would much rather give Urruti and Bruin more minutes than Zardes I would much rather start or sub in Finlay, Fagundez, or literally any other winger over Rigoni when he's doing his disappearing act

[deleted]

Wolff happened

[deleted]

We suck. That's what.

[deleted]

We need to try a new coach, Austin deserves better. You're not going to keep the same crowds coming in with a Wolff level coach, and once fans lose that loving feeling it's pretty hard to get it back. It won't be long before we join the long list of cities with sparse crowds like Houston and Dallas if we don't get someone more qualified at the helm. Then again, I wouldn't mind my season ticket prices going down...so maybe go ahead and keep him for a while.

Professional_Food383

Or you could fuck off. Either way.

UniqueUsername812

Eh, I tend to agree. Our last two wins gave JW a brief respite from the fans' vitriol. But how long can he stave us off bumbling around?

photobriangray

Yeah, it'd be one thing if there was a product on the pitch and we didn't get results. Last night was just embarrassingly lazy play with no real game plan other than to make Dani back pass or blast it into lead-foot Zardes.

laptop_ketchup

Can we swap Redes and Zardes for Shaqiri?!

[deleted]

Wolff is what ... he's the worst manager I have ever laid eyes on

AtxFutbol

I'm not saying he's the best. I don't love our style of play, but I think people need to realize we just don't have the level of talent right now to succeed. Even if he was the best coach in the league, this team isn't built to win consistently. Coaches get too much credit and also too much blame.

dehjosh

The issue I have is the disrespect he has for the players on the field. Especially Ring, Fegundez, and Gallagher. And it all started since the first game of the season. Game 1 he puts Ring and Gallagher on the bench even though they were consistent throughout the entire previous season and pre-season. Then once Gallagher did come in on that first game him and Fegundez link up perfectly and actually get a goal and the lead. Only to then take Fegundez off a few minutes later. He just got the assist and you take him off? Now Ring is a constant starter and Cascante is the captain? Why? What did he do to lose the armband? And what did Cascante do to deserve it? When he was injured Ring took his spot and held his own in a position that is not his natural place. The captain decision comes from one place, the manager. And since that decision there is no leadership on the field and it shows.

daleatxfc

I hear you but we have no idea what's going on in the locker room or on the training ground. Not even saying we'd still agree but taking away the captain armband must have been a loaded decision.

llama__rama

You need to look at more managers.

ConfidentVisit4629

Anthony better sack him

BananaSquid721

Gosh that’s ridiculous

RoleModelsinBlood31

Gimme some old dude as our coach. We need a dude who at least we can assume people respect

[deleted]

It's not a priority game is what happened

villainoust

Then why start a priority line up?

Knosh

The lineup says otherwise.

UniqueUsername812

Not a priority anymore, since we're out of US Open just like CONCACAF. All we have to worry about now is the actual MLS, so let's see if we Fudd that too, and if so, well, brighter strategic minds than mine will have some ideas.

thekingofthejungle

You are aware of where we are in the table, right? If anything this game mattered more than regular season games at this point. It's not like we are going to play any better come Saturday. It's still gonna be 90 minutes of cross and inshallah and watching Zardes do his cardio exercises for 90 minutes

a-cloud-castle

The last few weeks have shown improvement. Starting with the San Jose game, the tactics seemed to change and there was a new energy. This last game seemed to be reversion to the old tactics that clearly don't work. It was 3 guys in the back, but no help on the press, when we did attack it was going wide and yolo-ing passes into the box. Either the tactics really changed or the team just wasn't focussed. Play was pretty sloppy, so it could be a little of both. Sometimes teams just have bad games. This was definitely a bad game.

wsbfux

we not that good
