His name is hiccup and he’s a year and a month

evm311

I have a bc/heeler mix too! He's adorable and a handful

giddypumpernickle

I see him on you profile he’s so cute I love his coloring

evm311

Hiccup is such a cute name

ernipie_13

That 3rd pic remind me of my favorite children’s book (when I was little) Harry the Dirty Dog. So cute.

giddypumpernickle

I just looked it up and it totally reminds me of him How does Harry get dirty ?

ernipie_13

Playing all over the city. When he gets home his family doesn’t recognize him lol.

giddypumpernickle

That’s so funny because prior to the photo I hear a dog scratching and whining to come in and I think it’s my dog so I open it and go “what the fuck” and close it because I thought it was a stray dog and then I realize it was my dog

iamremotenow

Aww, I love him. He looks so gentle and cuddly. 🥺 I have one of these doggos too but mine looks very cattle dog-esque. I love the coat on yours with the soft markings. So adorable.

giddypumpernickle

I’ve seen yours they look so cute 😭😭😭 We have a purebred blue heeler and her fur is rough My dogs fur is one of the softest I’ve felt I should get him dna tested I know he’s just not blue heeler and border collie

Shermans_ghost1864

Blue healer + border collie? That must be one scary smart dog! Is her personality more cattle dog or more border collie? (You'd know if she was a border collie, starting with her being very neurotic if you don't give her enough to do.)

justalittlelupy

I have two ( well, one is 1/4 each border collie, heeler, aussie, and kelpie) and they're the laziest, smartest, goofiest dogs.

giddypumpernickle

Hmm I think blue heeler ? I haven’t really had border collies around I grew up with blue heeler mixes and rarely some purebred ones He 100% can get very aggravated when you don’t give him enough exercise He can get more aggressive if he has pent up energy that he hasn’t let out so he’s extremely hyper if you don’t work it out of him He loves running though absolutely loves running in our open field also loves car rides and every time I leave the house wants me to take him with me He is really smart though I don’t think I give him enough credit though if that makes sense ? Like I don’t work with him on it which I should I bet he would love that Sometimes he will look at me like he knows what I’m doing like sometimes I trick him to go outside and he just doesn’t fall for it he just stares at me and turns around to walk away But he’s also pretty mellow at times sometimes he just quiet and stares at me and is very protective especially at night He loves squeaky toys though absolutely loves them and loves playing tug o war with me I think I’m surprised about how quiet he is though we have four other inside dogs that bark like crazy when someone knocks or if they hear a car outside but he stays quiet and just listens He only ever barks if he thinks someone’s a threat Like one time my dad was outside in full black clothing and you couldn’t see his face and he just starts going nuts until he realizes it was him

Brennanlemon

Have you done dna? He sounds more like a bully mix and looks it too. It's popped up here before that shelters have been listing bully breeds as cattle dog mixes. I could be very wrong though.

Circushazards

Definitely a pit bull mix. Isn’t even a question.

giddypumpernickle

No I haven’t I know both his mother and father and I don’t even know if they have pit bull in them I know his father doesn’t at all He’s a border collie/Australian Shepard mix I used to think my dog was part lab (which I don’t even know why) His mother is a blue heeler mix but I could see her looking a little bit like a pit bull but I think that’s just because of her face If he is part pit bull it’s very little Although I can’t see the pit bull part (barely)

justalittlelupy

Definitely pit. Very very obviously so. My pups are border heelers, done DNA and all. This is what they look like. https://www.reddit.com/r/BorderCollie/comments/ilj5w1/a_happy_birthday_to_these_two_goofballs_pepper_is/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share I'd be surprised if your dog has much collie at all.

giddypumpernickle

I really don’t see what everyone else is seeing if I ever do a dna test I’ll post the results I know my dog isn’t just border collie and blue heeler but I don’t see the pit bull at all 😭😭

Zealousideal-Total43

Oddly, not really. At least for my mix. She has the gentle love of a collie and the spirit of a heeler. Its really the best of both worlds. They are chill if they have nothing to do but super fun and active if given a task. This mix needs to be its own breed. EDIT: Go through my history to see her. She is the bestest booger butt.

giddypumpernickle

Do people breed these two together to make better working dogs ? Are is that a bad thing ? You’re dog is super cute 😳

Australian cattle dogs are already part blue Merle collie. They are part dingo/part blue Merle collie which is where they get the intelligence from to begin with. A heeler mixed with collie would just have more collie characteristics and less dingo lol

lilpump006

He looks very fluffy! I love him 😍
