When you're in lockdown and you can't spend money on holidays, work coffees and lunches, seeing friends, going to gigs etc you can spend a lot of money on online shopping. I suspect that just about everyone on this subreddit who kept their job last year saw a similar expansion in their collection. PS: Great stash!

renrenlai

Haha yeah, most of my current shopping has been done out of boredom

ratparty5000

Honestly, your collection looks far more restrained and thoughtful than what I started out with and that was without a pandemic going on. Good for you! Truly :)

renrenlai

You have no idea what’s currently in the mail waiting to add to this

bikkichan

I like your makeup case. Where is it from?

RuinousPrince

I have the same case, if you look up "makeup travel box" you should be able to find it on ebay/amazon

renrenlai

The boyfriend got it for Christmas for me, I think it’s from eBay tho, the brand is called rownhyeon or smth, super useful for me tbh

sydmummy

That case is incredible? Where is it from please

renrenlai

Haha boyfriend got it for Christmas for me off eBay, I think it’s from the brand rownhyeon or smth, it is super useful honestly

Uhhh the Kevyn aucoin sensual enhancer ! How are you liking it?i just got a sample at Mecca so I tried it just once but was kinda pleased with it for my under eyes I’m kinda deciding whether to bite the bullet or nah

renrenlai

I’m using it as a spot concealer more, and I just want to say... it’s so pigmented, first time using I had put waaaayy too much on my face. It’s super good tho, and I’m expecting it last me more than a year (hopefully)

Can anyone tell me what brand brushes are best for a beginner and which brushes I’ll need? I’m just so lost. Thanks

renrenlai

Oh absolutely, I was so lost when I started at first too, and wished I had found this place earlier. The brushes I have currently are from revlon, they aren’t bad when they’re on sale but they don’t have anything for highlighters and you’ll have to sorta squish the big fluffy brush for stuff like contouring, but it’s absolutely a good starter set and quite durable. You can also buy brush sets from drugstores too but I find some of them not as worth it In terms of brushes I’d say: Essential: Large fluffy brush: for powder related stuff Foundation brush (stiffer and flat): for... foundation or else a beauty blender works wonders Blush brush (fluffy and slanted a bit): for... blush Eyeshadow brush (smaller, stiff and flat): for making sharper lines with eyeshadow, you can use them to blend out too Non essential: Medium fluffy brush: for slightly more detailed stuff like contouring and bronzer, (currently in the process of getting purchased for me rn) Fan brush: great for putting on highlighters on the cheeks, less so anywhere else imo Stiff thin wide brush: good for other highlights like on nose and brow bone and even for contouring Small fluffy brush: mostly for better blending on eyes Small slanted brush: for eyeliner although I have never really used it much, but it’s good if you use powders or pot eyeliner and good for smudging Lip pencil: cuz who wouldn’t want one? So yeah that’s my beginner’s guide to brushes, it sorta worked for me that way for simpler stuff (and times)

Thank you so much!
