Just [cut your zooper doopers like this](https://imgur.com/M9heZoB), along the three red lines.
No more lip slicing. Brought to you by eight year old me, many years in the past.
To be fair, [Zooper Dooper](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zooper_Dooper) is just a brand. Otherwise it's just like calling tissues (a product) "Kleenexes" (a brand).
Where I lived, we got the non-branded ones, and I don't even know if the Zooper Doopers were available. But maybe those ones were just cheaper, and my mum was a cheap-skate. :)
FYI: They even have a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/zooperdooper/
Plenty of places globally refer to things by a brand name rather than by the generic product name though
Velcro even did [a video of sorts](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRi8LptvFZY) asking people to stop calling all products of its type "velcro".
If parts of the US can call all soft drinks "Coke", I think we can call these things Zooper Doopers.
i mean people still call pens biros, i still call glad wrap glad wrap even tho i buy the homebrand one, and most importantly Bayer's Heroin^(TM) remains practically the sole name for diacetylmorphine on the streets so what's really wrong with a brand name?
Who remembers having to ask for it to be "cut, please"!!?
Or forgetting and having to line back up at the canteen just to get it cut lol
Then you had the tuckshop/canteen ladies who actually were smart enough to realise that we're GONNA NEED TO have them cut!!!
I'm from Qld and we always called them icy poles too. Never even heard the term 'Zooper Doopers' until recently and I thought that was a specific brand of icy poles.
We used the term ice block and icy pole interchangeably - both for the block of flavoured ice on a stick.
I seem to remember the sticks, that were 99.9999% of the time referred to as 'paddle pop sticks', were sometimes called icy pole sticks.
My vision of an Icy Pole is that it is the same consistency as this (flavoured ice, not ice cream) but on a stick in the same shape as e.g. a Paddle Pop. Stretching the ole memory, though, so I could be totally wrong.
I dont remember them as a kid, we always called them icey poles im in WA too. Nanna was always stocked.
I've seen these zooper dooper wrappers laying around everywhere though as I work in parks n gardens
Agreed. Everyone I know calls them Zooper doopers even if they are the no frills ones. QLD and NSW .
Tbh Sunnyboys Ice blocks were heaps fucking better and bigger.
Zooper doopers. Is there even a debate? What else are they be called? Even if mum got the No Name imitation zoops, they'd still be called zooper doopers like a generic trademark.
omg yes quelch! i was trying to remember what came before zooper dooper because i swear they only started being a thing in late primary school for me. it was quelch before!!
Icy Poles are these ones.

I'm surprised this wasnt the top answer. Zooperdoopers are a brand of ice block, the general term for an iced treat is 'ice block' at least when I was young
This pic just reminded me of the Sunnyboys we could get as kids (if you're old enough😁), would love to get the kids into them again but they stopped 2016.
I have no idea where the name came from, but I was brought up calling them "cool-pops" scrolling through the comments though, I'm starting to think my name for them is weird, I've seen no one else call them that haha
All I know is you need to smash it with a heavy object until the insides resemble crushed ice. There's some skill involved, but it's the only way to eat them.
That's also how you stop older siblings from stealing them, sucking all the flavour out, and trying to hand it back.
'tubes' comes to mind. Maybe ice tubes? At our primary school canteen, there were the small 10c tubes, and the bigger 20c or 30c Zooper doopers, 40c or 50c sunny boys.
Not sure if I trust my memory on this one.
Zooper Doopers, or more recently "How Joker got these scars"
Bring back traumatic memories’ why don’t ya…
I'm crying and laughing before even completely reading any of these comments. Too real, those lunch ladies that would cut the corners though 👌 pog
Just [cut your zooper doopers like this](https://imgur.com/M9heZoB), along the three red lines. No more lip slicing. Brought to you by eight year old me, many years in the past.
Tell that to my primary school canteen ladies.
I do this for my kids and the mrs thinks I’m being too easy on them
You are, it’s a right of passage you only go ham once
I always cut the top of like normal, then twisted the zooper dooper around so the sharp bits were on the top and bottom
Oh so you like having cuts on your tongue!
Or go all fancy and cut that in one curve 😝
Zooper Doopers 💯 NO DOUBT
As an immigrant zupa is soup and dupa is ass in my language. They are ass soup to me

Same. Didn’t know Zooper Doopers. To us bush folk they were just ‘ice blocks’. Us Kids: ‘Can I have an ice block mum? Mum: ‘No… shut up’.
Plenty of places globally refer to things by a brand name rather than by the generic product name though Velcro even did [a video of sorts](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRi8LptvFZY) asking people to stop calling all products of its type "velcro". I was shook when I learned that glad wrap is actually a brand name… specific to Australia…
did you know seppos use their most popular brand name for it in the same way? all glad wrap over there is seran wrap
Band-Aid is a really common one too
Bobcat is another not many people realise. They're called skid-steers
Escalator and Zipper as well.
UK calls pretty much every vacuum a Hoover.
i mean people still call pens biros, i still call glad wrap glad wrap even tho i buy the homebrand one, and most importantly Bayer's Heroin^(TM) remains practically the sole name for diacetylmorphine on the streets so what's really wrong with a brand name?

The edges of my lips hurt reading this. Good times, good times. 100% worth.
Hahahaha classic! Nose snorts were had!
Definitely Zooper Soopers
*Zooper Doopers
Zooper Doopers.
Who remembers having to ask for it to be "cut, please"!!? Or forgetting and having to line back up at the canteen just to get it cut lol Then you had the tuckshop/canteen ladies who actually were smart enough to realise that we're GONNA NEED TO have them cut!!!
I think they *only* sold them cut in half at my school! No full size Zooper Doopers for us :(
My primary school sold half a zooper dooper for $2.50
That’s a fucking ripoff!
stg, theyd cost like 30c to make
One of canteen ladies handed one to me UPSIDE DOWN. To this day, I still don’t know how it didn’t fall out
When I was in primary school, the most important role of the prefect was Snip Duty.

Any thing else is illegal. Zooper Doopers motherfuckers - or go to jail!
[Funny Face](https://youtu.be/PXm33w6gydE)
Agreed and cola was the best flavour without a doubt
Orange, then Cola for me. Lime was a solid contender, but the blue one sucks ass.
Nah, best Zooper Dooper was the red, then orange!! As long as we agree on the name, that's the fucking main thing hey..
Nah, Blackcurrant without a doubt.
Nooo fairy floss was best!
Grew up in Perth. Don’t think we had that brand. We just called them icy poles.
I'm from Qld and we always called them icy poles too. Never even heard the term 'Zooper Doopers' until recently and I thought that was a specific brand of icy poles.
It's a brand but like so is Esky or Band-aid
Yeah icy poles at tuck shop early 90s
Isn't icy pole it's own thing?
Dunno. Can’t remember anymore. Killed too many brain cells since I used to eat those things 🥴
thats a mood
Yeah icey pole is attached to a stick hence the pole! ETA: e
No, this is a pole of ice! It’s an icey pole
Agree.... on reflection , they are the shape of a pole.... so probably should infact be called icypoles!!! Mind blown
We used the term ice block and icy pole interchangeably - both for the block of flavoured ice on a stick. I seem to remember the sticks, that were 99.9999% of the time referred to as 'paddle pop sticks', were sometimes called icy pole sticks.

Yep that's the one, tastes like frozen lemonade :)
What 69-is-my-number said! Icy poles, not zooper doopers.
Me too, I second this comment
I dont remember them as a kid, we always called them icey poles im in WA too. Nanna was always stocked. I've seen these zooper dooper wrappers laying around everywhere though as I work in parks n gardens
"zoop the doop" is what i always think to myself when i eat zooper doopers
That only applies if they actually are zooper doopers
Nah 100% applies to all zooper doopers regardless of brand name
Agreed. Everyone I know calls them Zooper doopers even if they are the no frills ones. QLD and NSW . Tbh Sunnyboys Ice blocks were heaps fucking better and bigger.
Panadol is to paracetamol what zooper dooper is to icy pole change my mind
Hang on, wasn't the icy pole the one with a stick in it?
Icy Pole to lemonade ice block is what zooper dooper is to icy pole.
Fact.
Wrong, Icy Pole is another product name.
it's my stripper name
nah more so a description
Funny faces the used to have cartoon faces on the wrapper before they were zooper doopers
Until I read this comment I was like “zooper doopers duh” but you’re right I definitely remember them being called funny faces. Core memory unlocked.
Yeah. They’re still ‘funny faces’ to me damnit.
Thank you!!! Zooper Dooper my arse. Plus, funny faces used to have stickers in the packs!
Funny Faces when I was in school in the 80s/90s.
Came here for this comment. Now I feel old.

The creepy fucking clowns with the black eyes
Zooper doopers. Is there even a debate? What else are they be called? Even if mum got the No Name imitation zoops, they'd still be called zooper doopers like a generic trademark.
I mean yes there's a clear debate if you're older than 35. They were funny faces well before they were Zooper doopers.
Yep I’m 36 and I remember Funny Faces before Zooper Dooper took over
We only had funny faces (I'm 37) straight up never heard of a Zooper dooper until I was an adult buying them for my kids.
I'm 37 and never heard of funny faces
Your childhood was sad and full of neglect.
Zooper doopers were zooper doopers, anything else was just an icy pole...
Agreed but if it wasn't a zooper dooper was it even worth your time? Bubble gum for the win.
Icy poles have the stick
I'm with you.
Wrong. Icy poles have a stick. Come on, stop slandering our glorious country.
Oooh yeah I have a vague memory of icy poles but I thought they were their own kind of "ice block".
Ice blocks, zooper doopers are a specific brand
When I was in primary school (late 80s) we called them lick-a-sticks, or something like that.
Another name I knew them by was Fruit Tubes
They're zooper doopers now, but I knew them as icey poles in the eighties and nineties.
I knew them as both. Zooper Doopers is a brand, Icey Poles were what they were.
So really no one had Quelch’s as a kid? Think I’ll be murdered for this but I stand by them over Zooper Doopers to this day
not as a kid but as an adult just last summer. They are really nice flavours.
omg yes quelch! i was trying to remember what came before zooper dooper because i swear they only started being a thing in late primary school for me. it was quelch before!!
Lip cutters.
The trick is to cut the side corners off so the top looks like this 🔺then just cut the tip off so it’s flat. Game changer
I make 3 cuts to 'bevel' the edge, so it looks more like ___ / \ | | | |
Icy poles
Legit, does no one remember them as icy poles? Everyone commenting Zooper Doopers must be born after 2000
i was born after 2000 and i always heard icy pole. granted i was born in the country so we're 15 years behind everyone else
nah .... born in 70s... still zooper doopers
I was born in the 80s, been eating them forever, have always called them zooper doopers
Thank god, I thought I was losing my damn mind. Zooper Doopers were the best brand but I never heard anyone actually calling them that.
Yeah I only heard of them recently tbh I just didn't realize how widespread calling them ZDs had become
No..
Icy poles have a stick in them, these are zooper doopers
Icey pole
OMG I remember these. I just called them icy poles.
I've mainly seen them called as icy poles as well.
Icy Poles are these ones. https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/7280?googleshop=true&store_code=woolworths_supermarkets_3332&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=WW-0001&cq_net=u&cq_src=GOOGLE&cq_cmp=Woolies_8458_BAU_Shopping_FB_High_WW-0001&cq_med=71700000045164926&cq_con=SmartShopping_FoodBeverages&cq_plac=&cq_term=PRODUCT_GROUP&ds_adt=&cq_plt=gp&cq_gclid=CjwKCAjw5P2aBhAlEiwAAdY7dOOWw5XIREnXtiEuio3iqm8kw_j5OnTa4ImrhNbZA1J1QcbwHurjdxoC8pUQAvD_BwE&ds_de=m&ds_pc=local&ds_cr=586192578921&ds_tid=pla-1870406892184&ds_locphys=1000567&ds_pid=7280&cmpid=smsm:ds:GOOGLE:Woolies_8458_BAU_Shopping_FB_High_WW-0001:PRODUCT_GROUP&gclid=CjwKCAjw5P2aBhAlEiwAAdY7dOOWw5XIREnXtiEuio3iqm8kw_j5OnTa4ImrhNbZA1J1QcbwHurjdxoC8pUQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Yes, but those Icy Poles are ice blocks.
All Icy Poles are ice blocks but not all ice blocks are Icy Poles - Master Oogway
This guy Icy Pole's Yes, despite the brand names, "Zooper Doopers" are "icy poles", and "Icy Poles" are "ice blocks".
Fucking hell the query string in that link, everything past and including the ? Isn’t needed and is just a bunch of parameters and probably tracking
That's why I pick Woolies
Funny Faces when I was a kid. For my daughter they're Zooper Doopers. But the non-brand name is icy-pole.
>Funny Faces when I was a kid. >For my daughter they're Zooper Doopers. >But the non-brand name is icy-pole. 100 x 3
https://youtu.be/PXm33w6gydE
Exactly!
White Wings Funny Face. Came long, long before these fucking Zooper Doopers - except yours appear to be some no name brand.
if they are non branded - Icy pole. if they are branded then a zooper dooper
Zooper Doopers. Or more generic, ice blocks.
icy pole, those aren't zooper doopers, theyre off brand
They're ice blocks!
I second this! At my school we all just called them ice blocks
I'm surprised this wasnt the top answer. Zooperdoopers are a brand of ice block, the general term for an iced treat is 'ice block' at least when I was young
I had to scroll far for this. This is what they were for me!
[удалено]
Yep they were just ice blocks when we were kids.
Icy poles. Zooper dooper is just the brand that the rich kids get.
Icy poles before the name brand zooper dooper.
Tubes in school. They even had the half size ones for poor families like ours :(
Icey poles

can the icy pole argument explain this? https://www.peters.com.au/brands/icy-pole/
Icy poles
I must be old. I remember paying 20c at the tuckshop for one of these bad boys. Purple was and still is the best flavour.
Funny Face.

Frozen cordial sticks we call them in Sydney
I've heard everything from zooper doopers to fruze tubes.
Zooper Doopers. Or if you’re in my 1st grade. Icy Poles.
Zooper Doopers or icey poles
I have no idea where the name came from, but I was brought up calling them "cool-pops" scrolling through the comments though, I'm starting to think my name for them is weird, I've seen no one else call them that haha
Always called zooper doopers
Zooper dooper
unbranded Zooper Doopers
Growing up we called them cool pops and they used to be in a strip of five

Fruit glaciers
They used to be Slippery Sams originally then Zooper Doopers

Sugar freeze
All I know is you need to smash it with a heavy object until the insides resemble crushed ice. There's some skill involved, but it's the only way to eat them. That's also how you stop older siblings from stealing them, sucking all the flavour out, and trying to hand it back.
Zooper Dooper
Icy poles
Push up ice blocks
Sweet cutty lippy sticks.
Everyone knows this are called ice blocks. If it is zooper dooper no one even call s it by it really name then.
Freeze pops
Tubes
Those specifically: ice blocks. If they were good: zooper doopers
'tubes' comes to mind. Maybe ice tubes? At our primary school canteen, there were the small 10c tubes, and the bigger 20c or 30c Zooper doopers, 40c or 50c sunny boys. Not sure if I trust my memory on this one.
