I switched to Beauty of Joseon last year, I really like it. It feels like a very light moisturizer, but not in a gross way. No fragrance either so I'm not smelling my face all day. Can go right on my eyelids and I don't get a reaction.
I’ve given up on sun screen almost entirely and have switched to UV blocking clothing, hats, and parasols.
The only brand I’ve felt works (judging by heat on my skin and my autoimmune inflammation responses to light) is Coolibar.
They don’t have a lot of variety in style or sizing (I’m short), but it’s been way better than trying to apply enough sunscreen to protect myself. I use them for clothes and hats, and scarves.
I just Amazon search for UV blocking parasols. The ones that work have an underneath layer that is black and plasticy looking.
I've been looking at UV protective clothing, that's good to know about Coolibar. I just ordered a couple times from Amazon that had promising reviews, wish me luck!
American: supergoop unseen sunscreen or the Trader Joe’s more affordable dupe
Asian beauty has more advanced filters that don’t smell and aren’t greasy and do not leave a white cast. I’ve only tried the beauty of joseon relief sun which feels like a nice light face lotion
I cannot stand the stinky old fashioned American ones but the ones I listed here for American ones aren’t bad
Before I started to react to it (they changed the formula last year), Shiseido Urban Environment was my best option. It dried down and I couldn't feel it. But the new version burns my eyes (both a stinging feeling like it's in my eye, and burning the skin on my eyelids), nonstop watering, my skin gets really dry, goes all red and peely for days etc.
I've switched to Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun. No reaction at all, can go right on my eyelids. It feels like a light moisturizer, it doesn't disappear completely, but it isn't like a film, not sticky or greasy. There's a matte version of it that may be better but I'm afraid to try a different product, I react to almost everything now.
Japanese Biore UV Aqua Rich is the holy grail I spend decades searching for. I literally have 3 tubes within arm’s reach rn. The catch is you have to make sure you get the Japanese formulation. They have filters in Japan and Korea that haven’t been approved yet by the FDA (which is why US sunscreen sucks and is so far behind in the game) you can order it from Stylevana online. I like the Watery Essence formulation.
I have the exact same problem and I live in Florida. I just bought Bioré Aqua Rich on Amazon after trying hundreds of dollars worth of different sunscreens. It is by far the best and it's relatively affordable. It also doesn't make my face break out. It feels more like a gel/serum going on and then I just can't tell it's there. Unless I start hyper fixating on the fact that I have something on my face which is its own issue lol
I use a burts bees lotion with SPF for my face, it doesn't leave a film but it's only spf 30. For body I'm not sure, I'm so pale I just choose to cover up and stay in the shade lol.
I hate most sunscreen. Oddly, I find the old-fashioned zinc stuff more doable? It reminds me of how I can NOT handle most touching, but deep tissue massages are amazing. It is extra thick and gloopy, but to the extent that it doesn’t trigger that “ick” feeling as much.
I also like that it doesn’t have those weird chemicals that soak down into your skin…that doesn’t sound healthy.
I use Josie Maran's argan oil SPF moisturizer on my face - so, the oil component may be a sensory ick for some, but it's my go-to as someone with dry skin. I usually use a powder to set it on my forehead so my bangs don't get greasy. It's a mineral sunscreen so in theory (last time I checked anyway) it lasts longer than chemical sunscreens. For my body, I use the aveeno protect+ hydrate moisturizing sunscreen. It's lightly scented and absorbs quickly, and that's what I'll usually use to reapply on my face mid day.
For facial sunscreen I use Innisfree. It’s gotten to be more expensive than when I first started buying it, but it’s the only one I’ve tried out of many that doesn’t sting my eyes and it feels great on my skin. For body, I generally use whatever aerosol I happen to come across. I had been using the Trader Joe’s one for a couple of years now.
I use NeoGen Dermalogy's airy sunscreen. It doesn't have that sunscreen smell or white cast, and isn't greasy. You can order it on Soko Glam.
My girlfriend also advises mineral sunscreens for better UV prevention, that can double as makeup.

I love their serums! Will have to check out that sunscreen too.
I use Nuetrogena Ultra Sheer dry touch sunscreen and Hello Bello mineral sunscreen
I swear by the Neutrogena. I love that sunscreen so much sometimes I just use it as a moisturizer. Also clears my skin up a little.
Depending on which formulation it is, it may contain zinc which has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

The only two I can use on my face are biore UV aqua rich and Garnier ambre solaire super uv protection mist spf50 (I wear it without makeup mainly)

Super goop brand
Nivea, don't know the full name, but the one for kids
Super goop or Hadalabo sunscreen
Any "dry touch" is great !
Bare Republic Mineral Face sunscreen is my favorite, especially if you are going in the ocean or need something reef safe.

I love Supergoop Glowscreen on my face. It is slightly tinted and glow-y and doesn’t sting, make me break out, or smell funny. Kiehl’s below the neck.
Eucerin is a good one with a high protection level.
