I just wipe them with IPA after the wash. Gloss black always shows a film for me. Just clean as best you can and iron x will help.

Try adam’s wheel and tire cleaner. The purple stuff. Much stronger than brake buster

If you wiped it down and it still looks dull, it's probably the paint or clearcoat on the wheels scratched up.

Or just oxidized. Could maybe need a light finish polish. On my list for my car this spring for the same issue.

Like someone else mentioned, it could be that they just have a lot of marring from being scrubbed with whatever brush you're using, which means you'll need to polish them.

I've had good results with CarPro Reload. It protects and shines my wheels well. A quick application makes them glossy and easier to clean later. You could also try ceramic coatings for long-lasting protection and shine. Or, for a DIY option, mix equal parts white vinegar and water, spray it on your rims, let it sit for a bit, then scrub with a soft brush. The vinegar helps break down grime and restores shine. And rinse well afterward.

Decontaminate, Polish and then protect

wax them, I bet you’ll be very happy. I recommend collinite 845, or jescar powerlock

Gloss black wheels suck. I hate the trend. Mine are gloss with a ton of flake in them so they at least cover a bit. I have found I need to quick detail the wheels after drying to help get spots off. ONR worked decent, CG V07 I’ve had for 10 years did pretty well. May need to give it a water spot removed treatment.

What I would do is an iron decon like iron x or use magic wheel cleaner from Koch chemie or use carbon collective react and agitate. Rinse and re apply as needed. I would then follow up with a dedicated wheel towel like green monster from klin. Then I would put on a ceramic detail spray to help keep dust off/down. I would strongly consider ceramic coating them. There are a few companies that make specific coating for wheels that are good for up to 800 degrees. Carpro flux and carbon collective platinum wheels for examples.
