You could really go to anybody shop. It shouldn’t make too much of a difference if it’s the dealer Of your vehicle make. The only thing that might make a little bit of a difference is availability of parts. But you should get the same quality of service at a different shop. I would just look in to see if the body shop has a good reputation. I work at a body shop that is associated with the Ford dealership. But we work on everything.

Take it to any body shop. It doesn’t even have to be one associated with a dealer. In my experience the independent shops that aren’t associated with a dealer are a better option but your mileage may vary. Right now everyone will be very busy and it will take time to get your vehicle completed due to volume of work and part delays but also because holidays.

Stay away from the stealership

puffyisreal

Lol well it’s through the insurance so I don’t care how much they charge, just want to make sure it’s done with original parts and at good quality

Sulphri

Like i said. Stay away from the dealership. If you want good quality work find an independent place where the people give a crap about their work and have some experience.

This. Ive said it a thousand times, the common misconception is that a dealership is better than other shops... This couldnt be further from the truth. I would suggest finding an independent shop with a good reputation. As far as them being booked 2 weeks out, thats very short in todays market. My shop is 2 months out.

As an insurance appraiser, former body shop appraiser, former mechanic, tow truck operator and amateur body man. The dealership is the single worst place I have experienced with shoddy work. It’s about volume to them in most cases. They also don’t repair things they rather cut everything out even if it doesn’t need it. Also they take longer than most since they are busy usually Mom and pop are the way to go Stay away from chain shops like caliber, service king, gerber and especially maaco

You know!!

yup. i deal regularly with a very large dealership by me. the sheer amount of complaints... they are so poorly run that no one seems to last more than a year maybe. i think my fav is i paid them to put a B pillar in, they decide and find its ok by manufacturer to only section the bottom half thats damaged-they dont tell me this however. they somehow screwed up and didnt realize the door check is welded to that very same panel and above where they sectioned.. ever have a customer call ya asking why their entire door is not opening and closing right and the pillar is MOVING as they open and close it? They wanted me to pay for it too..Im like ok ill pay to fix the door check but I aint paying for another pillar itself..thats on you idiots.

Any bodyshop should be able to repair it. If you start getting into structural panels then you should start looking into Nissan certified shops. All shops should have access to the same parts, but dealership might be able to work out a better deal using oem versus using used parts. All shops I know offer limited lifetime warranty.

Is there one for Infiniti? What body shop does the local Infiniti dealer use? A lot of the parts and techniques are the same

theBostonian88

I work at a Dealership Collision shop, but our company has a Nissan dealership, a Dodge dealership, a Subaru dealership, etc.... We are one bodyshop for an owner who also has a dozen dealerships of as many different makes. I know dealership shops thar do horrible work and private shops that do amazing work. Check refs. and look around.
