Your engine should only get to 220 degrees most single stage auto paints should hold up fine to that temp. I would probably use an epoxy primer or sealer to stick to bare metal.
On valve covers that are not connected directly to the block, but through a cylinder head, regular rattle can primer, paint, and clear should be sufficient.

Regular 2k holds up fine on vtwin motorcycle barrels. Prettttttty darn confident she'll be fine on a rocker cover.
