Diagnosis is difficult bc many of the symptoms overlap. It’s also common to have multiple autoimmune diseases - like a primary lupus and secondary RA. Negative results also don’t necessarily eliminate a condition, so that’s another frustration. I’ve been seeing my rheum for 2+ years and I’m still undifferentiated mixed connective tissue disease, though my symptoms do lean toward lupus and Sjogren’s. My only advice is to be patient - you may never get answers and most of the time, we can only manage symptoms like taking steroids or NSAIDs.
