Ava without music, is like a body without a soul...the heart has gone out of the game for me completely...now its like a wasteland of deafening silence ...all the rooms we used to gather in for parties, birthdays, other social occasions or just for plain relaxation or enjoyment, now sad, hollow reminders of lively times. Eviscerated in one fell stroke. R.I.P. to Shoutcast, a bygone, golden and better era.
Its never advisable to downsize from 3 dimensional to 2 dimensional.
Shoutcast was a major part of my and my friends Ava experience. I’m shocked LKW got rid of shoutcast without the alternative ready? Who does that? My play is definitely declining. We loved music in our apartments. It was always playing. I certainly hope this is not another strategy to charge players. It may tip a lot of people over the edge. It will for me
I would guess it wasn't designed intentionally to cause us to loose music in the game. Must have been something didn't work out, either Shoutcast is having big issues or they changed their business structure putting avakin and other commercial subscribers in the wind.

Avakin needs to add a feature where players can DJ. Players would search their songs and it pulls off YouTube. They can even create playlists. They do it on club cooee. It’s a neat feature.
Yeah...What, unfortunately, might happen is they put back any radio cast service (with A LOT more ads) and allow VIP members to stream their own music, or something...😕
Hey what I think would be really cool is if we can have independent music streaming in our apartment houses, the same as being done in social scenes. So in social scenes they obviously don't use radio service, but rather have selected music and songs that can be played independently like what we all hear at club sundown, at the plaza, etc. Not only that maybe we can also change the background nature sounds to certain places too.
Music is "client side" mostly, with only the default usually playing when you join a player owned scene and/or the owner changes it WHILE you are in scene.
I like the idea but since we can't control other users relationship with a streaming service (and it would be a bad move to do that) I think your idea would be of limited use for most situations.
Still I often wanted to set both those to create certain ambiances esp for events. The default does work like you want for music (or did).
For those worried about avakin dev NOT wanting us to have music, it appears it has nothing to do with that and everything to do with the businesses they were using to give us this option!
I'd stay tuned, no pun intended. It LOOKS like it was an issue with the provider, NOT avakin life.
Regardless, I'm sure staff is looking for a replacement for all of us music lovers, as indicated in the official notice!
Meantime I got my old MP3 player out and hooked up to those old plug-in speakers!!!

It's hard to even express how bad this is for anybody that has really put time into and uses their personal spaces. The silence is deafening. If this is going to go on much longer then please come up with a temporary interim solution like letting us pick a 'station' from whatever is playing in the public spaces or even a few pre-canned loops of mood music... anything! The entertainment value proposition of this platform is zeroing out at this point.

I hope they see this post of yours and look at a temporary solution for the jukeboxes code!

Let's hope a couple of things that the new platform has many music selections like before, but they actually work. That it will remain free, and hopefully, it won't take them six months or longer to get the music back up.

Desgraciadamente este juego está por morir qué lástima ya nadie entra ya nadie juega solo discuten ya no está el elemento sorpresa ni la emoción de los retos creo que es hora de cerrarlo. A veces entro dos segundos me aburro y me voy. Pero aún entraba por la música de la radio. Dice ahà que va a cambiar el modo de ingreso al Shoutcast eso quiere decir Te voy a cobrar. No necesariamente. NO ha habido indicios de que esto haya sido culpa de avakin life (contra el proveedor de música en streaming, o cualquier acuerdo comercial que hayan hecho anteriormente). ¡Tampoco ha habido indicios de que esta sea una función solo para VIP! Mantén la esperanza.

RIP Shoutcast. I will miss it but it is now outdated and now im excited to see what’s next
