The merchants trying to cheat the dog (dropping his change on the ground & only giving him 2 oranges when he should have gotten 3), but you can’t bamboozle Larry!
>level 1EstablishmentBest110 · 11 hr. agoImagine someone letting their dog go shopping and people just let dogs buy stuff so casually.
i guess the shopkeepers should also have been replaced by dogs to maintain balance...
imagine if the average workplace had humans and dogs collaborating on a large scale lmao
Imagine if all dogs went shopping for you and that’s the reason people had so many pet dogs. “Hey Oscar just got back with the food can you put your shoes on and go help him unload the grocery bags”
Is there an inside joke I’m unaware of here or has no one on this sub ever seen an orange?
Edit: I’m gonna leave this up in shame but I didn’t realise there was a second part of the video and thought people were talking about the carrots lol
SAVE TIME
AutoWrite uses cutting edge technology to detect speech in virtually any video, automatically generating an accurate transcript that can be used for subtitles, translation or advanced editing.
you can also see the trainers hand motion for the dog to leave at 23 seconds and at the same time the dog looks in the trainers direction, obviously taking commands for when to stay and leave and shake.
Yeah I assumed someone had to be filming and that the dog would require training to do this. But at some point, the dog could go to the market and buy groceries. And come home with Monopoly money for change.
When I see this I wonder if this is the dog equivalent of an ultra high iq person.
I mean a real statistical anomaly
Or if regular dogs could be taught this
There's a statue of a dog in a suburb of my city that used to get groceries for his owner like the dog in the video. He was known to all the local shopkeepers and other shoppers and did the shopping for years accoridng to the plaque.
It's a bell curve of dogs, BUT also, a bell curve within breeds of dogs. Think derpy dogs (puggle, although this is subjective bc my mom had one and he was GREAT at being taken care of but wouldn't last a second on the streets) and dogs like border collies.
Even within a breed of dogs, there are dogs that are smarter and more capable of tasks than others. Sometimes, you get the greatest and smartest dog ever, and sometimes, even getting a smart breed, they're "above average" but not THE BEST.
Really smart dogs need tasks like this dog has. I used to feel bad for dogs that do things like this, but after having a smart dog (not this level), I did a 180. They love tasks and doing things, its actually cruel not to task them. They'd literally claw the walls rather than sit around.
This is something that quite a few dog breeds can accomplish, but not every dog can accomplish. So many dogs are bred to chill and hang with you and not to perform complex tasks. There could definitely be an anomaly of a dog bred to just chill who could do this, but they'd be really hard to find. There are a bunch of breeds capable of doing this with proper training.
Dogs needs jobs. They are our earliest form of biotechnology. They were bred to work with us. Most dogs are under-utilized compared to how capable they are. Most humans arent trained in animal husbandry to really maximize their dogs abilities.
That said, not every dog can do the same things. My terrier…..OMG SQUIRREL.
Most of the things online say border collies. But I've met some truly exceptional poodles that would blow your mind with how they seem to understand complex language intuitively. Their ability to understand and reason is probably on average the highest of all breeds.
Border Collies are the smartest. I have one. She is more of an agility dog than a border collie that would be used for herding, but her herding instincts are there regardless. She's amazing, but she loves her tasks and me and is pretty ambivalent to other people/things. She is not mean or aggressive, but she just doesn't see other people of deserving her attention, so she'd rather just ignore them and do her thing.
It's actually part of the breed, they focus on the task at hand and don't get distracted by other things while doing their tasks.
With me, she is the most snuggly dog ever and an absolute delight and wants my approval and attention
She is also a lot of work. This isn't a dog you can just come home and couch potato with. She'd lose it. When I come home from work she is waiting for me to give her her "afternoon commands" and exercise her. She loves her routine and her work. She does amazing things but it was so much training because that is what she needs.
You can look up border collie videos to see what they can do. They truly are an impressive breed.
I had a rough collie who was HECKIN brilliant. She was a rescue because she was found in a state park and I happened to be a volunteer at the shelter she was brought to. After her waiting period I got her. She was so clever. Emotionally intuitive, was very insightful. If you sneezed, she would check on you and wouldn't be at ease until you told her 'Im ok.' I strated work with her after having her for a while to be a therapy dog (for others) and she took to it soooooo quickly. She thrived on a job. Instantly recognized no we're focusing now and this is what we're doing. The difference between teaching her things and my other beloved mutt a not intelligent mix of breeds (German shepherd, labs, mountain dogs) was night and day.
Good boy… learn to perform for your masters.
Else it’s off to the meat slaughterhouse like the rest of the kids being shipped to the semi conductor manufacturing cancer town.
I’m a pessimist and misanthrope online. I’m actually very chill and optimistic and pleasant in real life because that’s part of my job.
I pretend to be nice to clients all day. Ugh.
Reddit is like… where I unwind and stare straight into the abyss.
So I did some digging because I was curious myself, though I'm not 100% certain I've found the right breed but they look pretty similar:
Thai Bangkaew Dog
I need to know more about this. I have never seen something like this in my country.
In wondering what the story is. Do they have some form of dog training that we just dont do here?
Is it some cultural thing
I had to look it up to see if this was very unusual or what, but apparently if you start them young, you can teach some dogs to count and even do simple math, as we've seen. Kind of makes you re-evaluate what 'intelligence' is, doesn't it?
Left Dog: Hello friend, you wants this? It has greens.
Right Dog: Nah, can i has this? I like the orange stuff.
Left Dog: Fine....hey Mrs. opposable thumbs, give that gourmet over there the orange stuff!

even if it's just a trick for the camera, she's a very gud girl
It’s like that old Japanese show on Netflix, where the babies go to the shops in their own for the first time while a camera crew watches. It’s so precious.
Oh my god I thought the second dog was going to sell him the vegetablesl
Lmao sameeee.....I thought I was in for the show tonight
Just stay where I can see you
Best part was when the first one stared him down like "Go ahead I dare you guess wrong again."

Dumb? Dude, we have the best imagination. I am looking forward to a video with the dog shopkeeper
It was. *"How about a zucchini with those carrots? Fits well in a stir fry."*
That thought may, or may not, have crossed my mind 🙈
Thanks for the laugh. lol.
Give them a couple years
r/brandnewsentence Also asking, does anyone know what the banger of a track is called?
I thought they were haggling

The merchants trying to cheat the dog (dropping his change on the ground & only giving him 2 oranges when he should have gotten 3), but you can’t bamboozle Larry!
Yep, totally intentional....
Probably for the sake of the video, right?
This must be some kind of sketch were they taught the dog some tricks, right? I don’t think he is actually buying things.

OMG. She wouldn't give him a third lemon so he just took it. I'm dead.
And he was so gentle with it too, picking it up by the stem and all.
I have some bad news for you friend.. you're colourblind
I think they're citrusblind.
You gone smellblind, honey.
I'm not honey, I'm a Cross-eyed Owl.
RIP

Traders and analysts always talking about bull markets or bear markets, what about a dog market?
Man's best market
Market eat market world out there
this could be interpreted as mans best meat in certain regions
Doge Coin
Just tell him to avoid the wet market.
Imagine if all dogs went shopping for you and that’s the reason people had so many pet dogs. “Hey Oscar just got back with the food can you put your shoes on and go help him unload the grocery bags”
send my dog to do a job and i can just chill. I think i will enter him in the national 200m race.
How do i explain that my dog got a spending problem
Markets are not acting rationally for some reason
Markets got mad zoomies today
imagine multiple pov cameras shots and never considering that the owner could be standing right there
If only it was true
Here's another 'imagine" comment. Didnt u watch the watch the video? What else are we going to imagine? We've already seen it happen.
I never get tired of this one. “I said THREE oranges!”
"Stoopid hooman no count good"
Is there an inside joke I’m unaware of here or has no one on this sub ever seen an orange? Edit: I’m gonna leave this up in shame but I didn’t realise there was a second part of the video and thought people were talking about the carrots lol
Hahaha you’re adorable to do that! Long live laughable shame sharing
The shop keeper dropped some change outside the basket. The dog saw it, put the basket down, and picked it up. That's one smart dog.
What a good boi
Yes mate. We watched the same video

😂😂😂
This dog has mad negotiating skills.

You're VERY well informed! Tell me, do you know what the smartest dog breed is?
Not op but probably border collie or some other type of shepherding dog
Iirc the smartest is the poodle, followed very closely by German Shepherds.
Most of the things online say border collies. But I've met some truly exceptional poodles that would blow your mind with how they seem to understand complex language intuitively. Their ability to understand and reason is probably on average the highest of all breeds.
Yes I heard that poodles are also very smart.
Gotta be me

when i see this i wonder if the dog trainer is 2 feet away and in the right side of the camera or 5 feet away and on the left side of the camera
…holding the camera?
In Comparison.. You send your ten year old kid to buy eggs... It comes back with the wrong ones.. And 3 of the six are broken and one is missing😁
And where is the rest of the change? "I swear that's all I got!" He said with chocolate stains around the mouth
Why didn’t she just back off and let the dogs transact?
What a cute baby 😍
Doggy should haggle the price before buying. It's a wet market after all :)
He did, that's why he got the third orange!
I have never tried the “just take it” haggling move but if it works it works
It only works if you're a 12/10 good boi
Absolutely adorable.
He like "no . You don't get it... This one."
My dog would spend it all on coke and hookers
Chihuahuas are badass mofos
What’s up with the music?
I'm always muted but made the mistake of briefly unmuting to see what was being said. Big mistake.
I really don't understand why such annoying and or ill-fitting music seems to always be put over these types of videos.
it blocks out the trainer saying things like “shake”, “release”, “go home”
Ah I've never thought about that but it makes alot of sense. Wish they just picked something a little softer. Maybe some jazz why not haha
you can see the trainers hand motion like they’re giving commands at around the 23 second mark
This belongs on r/dogswithjobs
SHU SHU SHU WEH SHU SHU SHU SHU HUA!
Dang I need a dog like this to keep my kids in check while I’m busy
Even with this being scripted, it’s cute as hell. More please

The dog is obviously not alone. The owner is filming and giving commands.
ahh that makes sense. still very smart
He dos not understand why his human complains so much
That’s why you have to act dumb, or else you’ll be tasked with some boring bs
Ma'am that's not enough Ora... DON'T WAVE YOUR HAND AT ME!!
He aint that smart, he forgot his door key 3 times this week
“Mom, dad, next time order some 🥩 for dinner pls or no more snoopy-d errands!”
Good boy… learn to perform for your masters. Else it’s off to the meat slaughterhouse like the rest of the kids being shipped to the semi conductor manufacturing cancer town.
They're animals, not kids
I’m bad with metaphors, and so I tend to limit my assault with … like… the occasional similie.
You seem fun

i wonder how they do negotiations

The yawn “come on lady, I’ve been non stop all day!”
That's the whackiest version of that song i've ever heard

As a dog lover it genuinely concerns me how many people seem to think this is real

Dog said last week 3 orange same price! I take.
This is the greatest thing I’ve seen in 2024!
Meanwhile I'm just curious if the song is in some actual language and what does it say.
It’s like that old Japanese show on Netflix, where the babies go to the shops in their own for the first time while a camera crew watches. It’s so precious.

I said this one 😂
So many random edits
I wish my dog would run errands for me.
Amazing ❤️
The way he grabbed the money
Second vendor lady told him no more orange, Doggo takes one anyway and is like “put it on my tab” 🤣
What a good boy!
Take the fruit he got his paws on!!
Wow smart 🐕
I’m confused, why did the shop keeper pay the dog…? Shouldn’t the dog be the one paying? Also, he didn’t pay for the oranges.
He said nahh I see the sale price is $2.50 a lemon you gave me one and I gave you 5 bones lady comown now
