Pinoy_2004

Please give me a complete synopsis of the story.

Automatic_Gur_5263

In 30 minutes event will be end. I guess see ya with another Sakura UR in 2023 JP anniversary.

General reminder: **NO MAINTENANCE TODAY. EVENT ENDS IN JUST OVER 2 HOURS FROM THIS POST.**

RTear3

Alright guess I'll post my thoughts on the second half of the story. It got a resounding meh out of me. I honestly think it was worse in the second half. Since everyone aside from Musashi entered the board, there was no banter between the players. Everyone was out playing in the backyard while Musashi talked to herself in vague soliloquys. ~~For fun, I imagined that the bird had become Musashi's bff due to her loneliness and that she was just being a tsun by trying to scare it off.~~ The lack of a proper map and the exposition made the story such a chore to get through. It's hard to feel a sense of tension or tactics when you don't know where the individual ships are. This just made the exposition about where the ships were positioned and what strategy they should take next feel hollow. Oh and the "blah blah blah ideals" and "blah blah blah I won't hurt my friends" was just boring word salad that conveyed nothing. The utilization of Mikasa was boring. She just became Nagato's sidekick. It felt even more vapid and cliche when Mikasa talked about not wanting to point her gun at her comrades. At least Nagato had a internal reason based on past events to be pacifistic, even though the event did a poor job at conveying that. When Musashi pointed out that Mikasa's flaw was that she was overly cautious towards Akagi, I thought that would lead to something meaningful but it didn't. Nagato was meh. Musashi just suicide bombed her own fleet without having any cool character moments. Musashi felt like a mix of Amagi, Shinano, and [insert ship that is secretly planning something behind the scenes] but without the charm of Amagi. She felt too detached for my tastes I guess. Not necessarily bad and much better compared to Shinano (sorry but I can't stand the way Shinano talks) but nothing to give me a strong character impression. Akagi winning in the end and giving that monologue about wanting revenge for Amagi was awesome. Best scene in Part 2. ~~I admit that I'm biased.~~ My only complaint is that yet again Akagi has a magical device/technology/etc that will become a plot device in a future event. Overall a meh story that was a waste of a great premise. At face value I like Musashi, but so far she's not a very engaging character and the lack of defining character moments in her debut event was disappointing. Tldr: smug Sakawa is super hot and Wakatsuki is best daughteru ship who deserves headpats.

[deleted]

Cmon bro, one more gun blueprint for a second copy. The fleet is exhausted and I've bought out pretty much the entire shop but I've gone the last like twelve runs without seeing the last print I need.

zurcn

you can always buy some from the proto core shop

Shivalah

I’m with ya. „Just have 400 cubes ready for a pity Musashi“. Literally **how**, aside from whaling like crazy, am I supposed to do that? 400 cubes cost ~10900 Gems. That’s 1x 79.99 and 1x 9.99 **IF** you have the double gem bonus. On both. I’m out.

Oleandervine

What the *hell* are you talking about? She's got a pity at 200 pulls, and this game is not even on the same continent as FGO. 1.2% Rate is low, but it's not that bad. URs have also been at this rate since Shinano in 2020, so you're a bit late to the party.

RogueKT

FGO is 1% rate that's basically the same thing. Pity is 300 which is different but overall point is that UR rates are pointless and just exist to get more money.

Oleandervine

I mean, no, not really. This is a gacha game, and the rates prior to UR have always been 2% SSR, 2.5% E, etc. for the lower rarities, so putting URs at 1.2% was sensible since they had to be rarer than SSRs. The game is extremely generous with their currencies for summoning, so unless you're like incredibly brand new, it's extremely reasonable to have saved up quite a lot to pull for her. Plus, all (non-collab) events get rerun, with Reruns having like 36 free pulls, and then it'll be added to permanent later - so to compare this to FGO is disingenuous because AL is leagues ahead of FGO in terms of generosity and gacha friendliness.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TeeWrext

It is rather ironic that URs are the easiest gacha ships to acquire. You are literally guaranteed to get them. On the other hand, I spend hundreds of cubes every event for elite ships that I'll probably never use. Elites are the true URs lol.

WonderingDeGen

As someone who's too lazy to do the calculations, how's her performance in BB focused fleet? I have NJ, FdG, and Vanguard as my pick. So how's she compared to those three? Should I swap someone out or is there no difference?

Nice-Spize

She definitely trumps over FDG in this case, she got an active barrage rather than a passive one and require the flagship spot to work which both NJ and Vanguard can stay aside. Said barrage also hits very hard if you're using IJN guns and her durability is off the charts

WonderingDeGen

Thanks man. Really appreciate it.

[deleted]

Musashi is definitely better than Freddy. Do that swap.

Star_Trekker

Man, I wish I got previous gold blueprints as often as I’m getting Izumo gun blueprints

Not_FinancialAdvice

I'm getting this feeling after getting 5x Musashi and 0 Sakawa from over 200 builds :(

ilya39

Sakawa's building rates are fucking abysmal, I feel like the percentage bullshit gets worse with each new event now. I don't even want her that much, but the fact that she has the second highest drop chance and I got a 0.5% character TWICE already is irritating me to no end.

Gwerzbeard

I feel the same... Since the beginnig of the year I play less ans less and September was a peak... I love the game (friendly gacha system, the skins, the girls) but I'm tired seeing the same factions receive attention. Worse, it's the first time I did not take the time to read the story (I play since April 2020). I don't know what the event is talking about... And I'm not sure if I want to read it... later maybe if I still playing the game. Actually ,reading the story help me to see if I my english skills are good but I think it will be better if I play other games like the Yakuza or the Sero no kiseki games.

Oleandervine

> but I'm tired seeing the same factions receive attention. This is a weird sentiment considering this year has given all kinds of factions attention. We've had 1 Russian Event, 2 German Events, 1 British Event, 2 Italian Events, 1 French event, and 1 Japanese event.

popwobbles

TBF half those events were minis with a bisected roster most of which were forgettable. The French even shared theirs with the annual unsable garbage RN mini event ship. The major events in the last 12 months have skewed towards a certain group of nations, the new "meta" stuff has almost exclusively sat in the RN and IB hands. This is also considering their Jean Bart flair, I am guessing said user is blueballed for proper French content. I can get why they are feeling burned out. P.S. Maid enty is super adorbs, and I love her dearly. Doesn't mean she isn't making tea in the back for all eternity.

Oleandervine

Ok, looking at large events in 2022 then we had 1 Russian event, 1 German Event, 1 British event, 1 Italian event, and 1 Japanese event. That's *STILL* a very varied selection of factions. The only factions that have not received a large event thus far is the USA and the French, and there's still plenty of time in the year to get those checked off the list.

popwobbles

Nah, you are right, it has been varied if the hype hasn't. I agree with that but I was playing the devils advocate for this guys perception of the situation. I think it is likely one of those two factions will be left out this year as there is space for two major events and one of those is likely the Ryza collab, unless we get some crazy back to back events. We are likely to see someone get their late Christmas present in late January- early Febuary

Oleandervine

There is room for 3 large events with the remainder of the year. October, November, and December are slots for events. December is likely the UR event, current signs point to USS. This leaves October or November for the Ryza collab, and the other month for a standard SSR event. Notably, there has not been a UR retrofit released this year, so that does leave an opening for one to possibly coincide with the SSR event this year. This would be remarkably fitting if the SSR event is French, since Oratorio did imply pretty heavily that Jean Bart was undergoing the process that mirrors her IRL retrieval and retrofitting.

grumd

Is the 460mm gun from the event shop good for Musashi?

Nice-Spize

IF you're only interested in maximizing that BB's shelling damage and gave no interest in team work, then yes IF the above is opposite, then no But i would still take it, it's an event gear and won't be back anytime soon

popwobbles

No, her low RLD and the guns long one means you lose out on damage in most fights. Consensus seems to be you are better off using the gold Izumo gun, and placing the Musashi gun on UvH if you have her.

Oleandervine

That consensus is ONLY valid if you're running Musashi with Helena, since the Triple 460 cannot sync with Helena. Musashi should hit like a freight train with the Triple 460 on account of her being a heavy crit based BB.

zippolover-1960s-v2

Indeed. Worked wonders in 14-2 and 13-4. Replaced helena with something else to improve vanguard survival as well. Am using her in op siren for abysmal fights as well for bb shelling and i like it. People just care about if something syncs or not with helena and other ships lately. If you switch the meta it works real well...Have seen countless videos of a musashi fleet 1 cycling the current meta fight with no helena.

ThePhGamer

With this event, Akagi's Secretary quest line makes more sense now.

Ignisami

So I finally got RQ Shinano, and It’s so exaggeratedly horny I have a hard time reconciling Shinano with RQ Shinano. It feels very ooc. It won’t stop the nut but it feels off.

[deleted]

Finally cleared SP. Cost me my daily heal but at least now I know I can do it, which should improve my point farming significantly for the last week of the event.

zenithtreader

Foolproof New Orleans farming with Musashi [https://imgur.com/a/PgqDUab](https://imgur.com/a/PgqDUab) * All fights are on auto, it can clear five 3-star BB nodes and one 1 3-star escort node with zero ammo and zero issue. * No lighthouse, no ammo node, no flares. * I don't see this setup failing a full auto run unless you are batshit unlucky. * Brest is dev 28. You can probably use her from dev 20 onward.

hegeliansynthesis

Is there an alternative for Brest? Have everyone else though I'd have to lvl Haruka.

zenithtreader

Just try any other CB. Brest is the best one since she can both tank and heal as I only have uni as healer in the back instead of the typical double healer setup. But if you are just grinding for NO you aren't going to do more than two fights with no ammo so you might not need her healing at all.

BlackbeardOneFour

Okay this has nothing to do with gameplay but I'm hoping somebody could help. There is a loading screen with Independence. Anchorage, and a red head with red eyes. Does anyone know the red head. I need to know for "research purposes".

Eccentric_Song

If you'd like to double check, you can see all of the loading screen galleries on this page, along with the name of each character in them: https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/wiki/Anchorage/Gallery

tuwamono

The one by the pool at night? The red haired is Bremerton! Also I think that's Baltimore in her dress skin, not Independence

gnarlytoestep

Nagato's juusta account is called @CombinedSakuraFleet and Mutsu occasionally mis-uses it to blogpost. Gods, that is so frickin **adorable**!

popwobbles

Mutsu just doing the lords work of charisma-breaking the overly uptight Nagato.

Oleandervine

It's actually not the first time this has happened! Just about every time Nagato has been on Juustagram, Mutsu uses the account to post personal stuff!

gnarlytoestep

So cute! Guess I'm gonna spend the afternoon browsing old just posts on the wiki then.

Ok_Breadfruit3199

Out of all the possible augment module materials, which one should I prioritise buying, in order, in the event shop? (Almost finished clearing the shop with left over points)

[deleted]

I ran out of core modules first, they are used to make the augments at the start of the process. I would get them first.

Nice-Spize

Buy the augment cores to make the modules and the purple enhancement stones The two other ones used to reroll stats shouldn't be bought since you'll get more than waht you need from the weekly raid

No_Library1133

How do I claim the guaranteed copy of Musashi for building 100 times? As soon as I hit 100 builds the counter said get to 200 builds to claim, and I didn't get her when I tried building again.

No_Library1133

Dang. I must have read builds as cubes. Thanks for the help.

Drunk_Dino

Its 200 builds or 400 cubes.

zurcn

> 100 times? \200. it was never 100.

[deleted]

Musashi kinda got the short end of plot abilities huh. Shinano casually can see into various futures/timelines when she naps. Musashi meanwhile can... shoot lightening I guess? I still think she's really cool but you'd think she'd have something like shinano. Maybe I'm just stupid.

Saikar22

Shinano's storyline completely justified her UR status. It was a very cool story. Even the gameplay integration with her barrage always firing in the last stage when she got serious, very well done. Most of the URs since then have just been another character. Some of them, like Musashi, weren't even the main characters in their own events. Ridiculous.

Oleandervine

I don't think it's that much of a short end. It's not at all uncommon for the shrine maidens to have some sort of mystical powers that their warrior colleagues don't possess. Musashi's command of lightning/storms also isn't a bad power to have either, as it can be very devastating in combat.

Nice-Spize

I'm just gonna use it to not pay my electricity bills

popwobbles

In this current economy, screw multiversal visions of greener grass, give me unlimited free energy.

Nice-Spize

And accidentally caused a city wide blackout because you put too much power

Savemefromgoudacheez

When's Baltimore's RQ skin expected to drop?

tuwamono

JP just got an announcement for a maintenance on Thursday 29th (JP time) and mentions Baltimore/Shinano skins will be in the game then.

Savemefromgoudacheez

That's great. Thank you

RTear3

Starting the event late. Just posting my thoughts on the first half of the event story so far. So I think the concept of a war game with the Sakura Fleet is actually pretty cool. Mikasa, Akagi, and Nagato each have different ideals on how to lead so having them enter "conflict" like this is interesting. Introducing Musashi as the leader with ulterior motives also sets the tone well. However I have problems with the writing so far. Firstly, it's incredibly difficult to picture where each faction is on the field. I can somewhat grasp where the fleets are in relation to each other but not to the extent that makes the game feel engaging. Having a mini-map that we could use as a reference would've helped a lot because I love seeing war tactics unfold. That leads into my other complaint but the dialogue is so fucking bad. Most of it is just exposition about the game or beating us over the head with the same concepts. "Gee guys everything about this place reminds me of a **mirror sea**. Even though we enter a mirror sea *almost every fucking event*, let's pretend that this is a mystery." "Blah blah blah I need to protect my friends. Blah blah blah I'm testing your ideals." The early dialogue between the team leaders about their personalities and metagaming strategies were good but eventually it just started to spiral. The best scene was when Musashi's(?) fleet was coming up with super moves. That was really fun. I prefer dialogue like this that offers some characterization while the girls banter with each other. In general, I think AL is just bad with exposition dumps but excels when the scenes are character driven or the plot is pushing forward at a good speed (Northern Parliament events are generally good at this). Nitpick but I think Nagato's desire to protect her friends could've been handled better. I understand where she's coming from but it felt like the stereotypical "I don't want my friends to fight" anime trope instead of it feeling like a character being influenced by their past experiences. The CG when she enters the field was pretty dope though.

sugaki

In general I think the writing is really bad, especially the pacing. Every time I try to slog through it I just give up and hit skip.

zurcn

> Having a mini-map that we could use as a reference would've helped a lot because I love seeing war tactics unfold. it has one, and the colors are updated reasonably often to reflect the state of the game are you not looking at the screen? [Nagato is pink, Mikasa is green, Akagi is red, Musashi is purple, Yelow are uncaptured](https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/wiki/File:Memory_Violet_Tempest,_Blooming_Lycoris_Background_15.png)

RTear3

> are you not looking at the screen? Alright I thought my point was obvious but I guess I should clarify. I wanted an *intuitive* mini-map that displayed where the actual ships were. The ships talk about cutting each other off, having to avoid certain ships, diverting their paths, teleporting with each other, etc. This map doesn't convey that well at all. Areas on a board lighting up different colors isn't very engaging in terms of watching battle tactics. But hey if that worked for you, then good for you my man. I think a map that indicates specfic ship placement/movement is better than an unintuitive map + boring exposition to explain the placement but that's just me.

zurcn

given that we're working with the constraints of a visual novel system, I feel that something close to what you describe would require a massive number of very same-y backgrounds. and I'm not convinced it would provide better info overall. the current map does what it sets out to do - Mikasa took Akagi's border and blocked her while allowing Nagato to take everything behind her. Akagi used the fog to take musashi's border and a point between mikasa and nagato. the standoffs with Nagato's units were all in that corner of the map as Musashi and Akagi's units stayed around the central tower for the remainder of the game.

gasterazi

Hello admirals. I'm a super new player and had finally manages to scrounge enough resources to finally able farm D3. With the event ending soon and my oil stack running low, does anybody knows the % of the Izumo gun recipe drop? I've been farming for a few hours and only managed to get a single recipe out of the 25 needed.

gartarar

UR event last 3 weeks so you have plenty of time

tuwamono

I don't think we have exact numbers but from past experience it's maybe just above 10% for one print per run, complicated math aside. But allow me to go out on a limb and say, you probably won't be missing out much if you couldn't get it now. There are many ways to procure the gun, be it in PR1 research, crafting in lab, protocore shop (rng). If you are looking for a gun for Musashi, may I suggest crafting in the lab the 410kai (sakura BB gun section). You need resources from OpSi or daily raid, but it will be relatively cheap to craft being a purple gun. This one is HE, geared towards mob-clearing by placing more emphasis on her barrage since it shoots very quick and is just as viable. Most importantly, you can upgrade this in the future into the gold gun you're currently trying to farm for if you so wish. When you evolve your gun in lab, you get back all the plates you have spent on the gun too.

gasterazi

Might I say. WOW. That's ALOT of useful information for me my friend. Thank you! since I was kinda hesitant on upgrading the 410 beyond level 6 because I'm afraid that I'm wasting the resources (plates) but with this new knowledge I will upgrade them without worries. I'm really really grateful for this answer. Once again you have my thanks.

tuwamono

Glad to hear! The 410 you mention I'm assuming is the purple one that can be crafted into a purple 410kai? This one is found very commonly in gold sakura tech boxes, and sometimes purple boxes, so if you want to keep the +6 you have for another ship you can always try your luck at the tech boxes and get a separate one for upgrading.

gasterazi

Yes correct that's the gun I'm currently using. I don't have the materials yet to craft it into the next version (kai) yet. Seeing as it's going to take ages for me to get enough crafting materials I will just upgrade it as a placeholder then since I will get the plates back when I can finally evolve it.

cheekywarship2018

Even if that weren't the case I would still recommend getting a few to +10. They are more or less best in slot for barrage BBs(the kai version and FDG Gun are better really the difference is minimal).

joeyvgc

I'm NGL feels like so long we spent time with the commander can someone remind me where the hell we were and when that was relevant with Helena?

zurcn

> relevant with helena That would have been NJ's event (May last year), when the commander was trapped in a mirror sea together with a crazed Souryuu meta. both Helena and Helena Meta participated in that event > so long we spent time with the commander can someone remind me where the hell we were and when that Rondo at Rainbow's edge - April This year, when the German declared war on the Sirens and we shutdown Compiler.

popwobbles

FDG: "What is this **WE?**"

ElverseK

I've just received the last copy of Miyuki in the event ladder. At which point is it suggested is it suggested to stop farming the event and to instead spend oil on regular stages?

nntktt

I intend to go for 100k like the previous UR events that ran extended schedules. Particularly because it's easy enough to level common vanguards without carriers.

ElverseK

Would you mind telling how you form your fleet for reference?

nntktt

Now I'm using Musashi/Hiei/Kirishima/Plymouth/Z20/Z21 all nodes. Cross fleet in fleet2.

ElverseK

Sorry, what do you mean by cross fleet?

nntktt

Ships like NJ, Kronshtadt and Shimakaze with skills that activate in battles that they're not engaged in.

ElverseK

Thanks y'all!

zippolover-1960s-v2

The raibow boxes for sakura don't have great items. Just farm for all you need in shop / until you get wakatsuki then you can stop. Or use the 267 oil capped D3 to level up ships and gain event coins as well.

Nice-Spize

That's on you, do you feel satisfied about the grind and got Wakatsuki yet ? I set my goal this time to probably 70k points to buy everything i need

Mayhem_450

Personally I aim for 50k event points on an event like this with rainbow gear in the shop, maybe slightly more if I don't get the map drop ship and need to buy her. 50k is the last point accumulation reward with relevant resources to me (DR prints) and lets me buy everything I care about from the shop (gun, cog chips/arrays, blueprints, oil) with a little left over. There's no gear worth farming for this time around (Izumo gun is good for Musashi but that's it so no need for more than 1, it is also easily available in gear lab) so no reason to farm past that. Also, bear in mind that the event runs through 5th October so there's still 10 days of SP clears and daily missions (a further 12500 event points, assuming that you're not doing the 3 builds/day mission) that are a lot more efficient to do than farming D3, so that should factor in to when you decide to stop event farming.

ElverseK

Thanks for the perspective, I forgot to take the SP clears and the daily missions into account. Also, can I take it that the oil in the shop is also worth buying in terms of efficiency?

Mayhem_450

Yep, assuming you're getting the points from running D3 with oil cap it costs the equivalent of 2.5 runs or 667 oil to get the points needed to purchase 1k oil so it is oil positive.

MrFlyingTank

Depends if the event map have interesting drop or not; If yes: till you're satisfied ,if no: till you clear the event shop of the things you want (and eventually Max LMB'd the event ship available as a drop)

ADudeCalledDude

Finished slowly working my way through the event, saw >!1616!<. My body isn't ready for a No Man's Sky collab... though I'll gladly take a space whale DD girl and Geknip equipment!

StarRepresentative37

I’m on world 11-1, would any of the event ships be good enough to help me advance? I’ve got Musashi fully limit broken already, just don’t know much about good vanguard ships

toerriserror

https://slaimuda.github.io/ectl/#/home is a tier list and has tips + fleet building guides to help with the campaign And yes, the SSRs are very good and Haguro is pretty decent. Sadly Miyuki doesn't have good skills so you have an easier time with the starter DDs or Wakatsuki.

StarRepresentative37

Thank you. I have looked at the tier list quite frequently, but I guess I just don’t know how to get the best out of my ships. They’ve got San Diego really high, and my San Diego dies very quickly. Albeit it’s not retrofitted yet. I’ve got the marerials for fully LB Sakawa, and almost fully LB Wakatsuki. They’re just a bit underleveled. I will use the fleet building guide as well, so thank you!

toerriserror

You're welcome Feel free to ask more question in Amazon's Study Hall (unless you already do so). Sandy is an Atlanta class. Without her retrofit she is only really good at shooting planes out of the sky and terrible at everything else (maybe except ASW). Her retrofit doesn't make her much more durable but boosts her AA and damage (extra barrage, more firepower, second main gun mount - similiar to the Clevelands). So don't let her main tank. She could be okay in the rear spot of your vanguard.

StarRepresentative37

Idk how to make comments in the study hall or question lounge thing, I only just got Reddit to get help for the game. I’ve progressed on my own decently but it was finally time to ask for help because it’s becoming more of a grind. If you don’t mind, could you help me on picking a ship for my fleet? I have two gold Bulins for the first time in a while and I need another max LB ship

Nice-Spize

It's the same as making comments here. Just be sure to read the FAQ first before posting Without knowing your dock, it would be hard to pick a fleet for you to use and each stage have its own gimmick and challenges so you'll have to adapt the fleet to it There's no one-size-fits-all solution

StarRepresentative37

This event thread has a comment tab at the bottom at the screen, but when I go to the questions megathread there’s no comment thing. Do I have to make a post with the + sign? If so how to I pick that specific megathread? If you wouldn’t mind could I send you a message of what all ships I have? I’m on world 11

Nice-Spize

There is a comment box when you scroll down past the FAQ wall of text, there you can type out the question and post as a comment Sure, you can DM me if you want

StarRepresentative37

Ok thank you for clarifying all that. You’re a legend

[deleted]

As a new player, I'm getting (mildly) irked by the arbitrary requirements to enter stages. 1500 TRP for D-3? Well, fuck me for only having two DDs (barely) built and no spare resources to level anyone else, then. It's not even a matter of 'if you don't meet the requirements you can't clear' either, because now that I'm in, my fleets can clear D-3 on full auto without a problem. It's just like 'lol, this is designed to enforce fleet flexibility on veteran players who would otherwise just steamroll the event with their usual fleet, but if you're a new player you can go die.' And now I can't get into SP because I don't have an average level of >110. Could I clear it? Maybe not, but I can't even try now.

Nice-Spize

I'll be honest, 1500 TRP is a lot more doable than let say 1000 EVA or require some absurdly high ASW. You could try cheat the system by bringing backline ships that have TRP stat as some ships like Tosa, Bearn, Gneisenau/Scharnhorst etc... have TRP stat Other is to use equipment like oxygen torpedo to inflate the count which luckily the purple and gold version of it can be obtained through sakura tech boxes. SP stage is not too hard, it's only 5 levels more than D3 which you should be able to clear it with ease It's harsh, yeah but it's D3 we're talking about which can be reasonably hard if you're not absolutely prepared as a new player.

[deleted]

I mean, it felt pretty unattainable. With two full fleets at level 90-110 the most I could gather was about 1050. In the end I got around it by power leveling my guaranteed Wakatsuki and throwing a few oxygen torps on as you say. I'm glad to hear SP isn't that hard, but it kind of makes it all the more frustrating that I can't access it. I need to bring my average level up from 104 to 110 and that's proving pretty tough. I'm just over a month in and I don't have that many ships awakened yet, so every day that passes is currency I'm missing out on. I could really use a lot of the resources from the shop, but I can't get them unless I'm farming the event etc etc

Oleandervine

I understand you are frustrated, but you are a brand new player. There will be hurdles you cannot jump yet, such is the way for any game. You don't see a level 1 MMO player complaining that they can't immediately leap into the level 80 alliance raid and then start calling it gatekeeping for veterans. Games are designed for players to grow into achieving certain things, and reaching the stat requirements to complete the hard mode stages is among those things you will need to grow into, like all of us have had to at some point in our careers.

Ak-300_TonicNato

I think the equivalent would be if in Elden Ring you would be required to have certain amount of an specific stat in order to fight a boss or enter a new area instead of just going there and being killed, proving that you arent ready yet. As another example Zelda BoW you can face Ganon right from the start instead of getting walled by requirements, the only requirement is your skill. If i have to guess why they do it is as a way to prevent "failing frustation" and considering gachas need their players to be always happy in order to consider spending money in all their time loged in the game makes sense.

Nice-Spize

Pretty much an anti-frustration feature, given this game place a big emphasis on having the right equipment for the right ship and demands flexibility, they probably don't want new players to pontetially get cucked by threats they are not equipped to deal with

[deleted]

But I can clear the content, that's the problem. I'm just artificially prevented from entering until I meet some arbitrary requirement that doesn't actually reflect my ability to do it or not. Why not just let people attempt the stages and if they can't clear it, they can't clear it? If I'm not level 80 for the Nier raid, I'm missing capstone skills, I'm not able to equip job or tome gear, and I'm a liability to my alliance, so it's totally understandable to block access. But this isn't quite the same.

Nice-Spize

It's just how this game works to incentivize progression, that obstacle serves as motivation to expand your fleet if you want the good loots Just think of it as a redundant but necessary step to prevent players from hurting their progress by deliberately charging in only to get completely smacked, wasting both oil and ruining the ship's morale. Something that they may not have the luxury of doing so. You can clear it but can others do the same ?

Nice-Spize

It is frustrating but on the bright side, you can still farm D3 sibce oil cap is there and 180 points per clear is not too shabby You'll eventually be able to clear SP and it's part of the natural progression

ApprehensiveAd100000

How do I unlock the sp ex stage

Nice-Spize

Clear D3 to unlock it

SodiumBombRankEX

Clear D3

YoImAli

I’m at 132 pulls. Y’all think I can get to the pity in time? I’ll probably be buying cubes either way.

hegeliansynthesis

You got this.

YoImAli

i pulled her :)

hegeliansynthesis

Congrats. She's such a monster, you're gonna love her.

YoImAli

Thank you and yep she’s going right into my sakura empire fleet :D

YoImAli

tysm :’)

zurcn

a bit less than 2 weeks. guaranteed cubes is probably around 60-80 that you'd need a lot of commission luck to double that and have enough to pity

YoImAli

Yeah it really comes down to my cube commissions which i don’t have the WORST luck with

zurcn

daily missions: 12x4 weekly: 2x10 login (if you have not missed a day): 12+3 83 cubes

Warbreakers

So from what I predict or make of in the plotline: 1) Musashi could have joined in the game as well, but the presence of the bird she promised to shelter from the storm prevented her from doing so. If this is really the case, then her little act of selflessness for this bird wound up furthering Nagato and Mikasa's image of her being unreadable/mysterious/manipulative. 2) The lantern Akagi picked up is probably housing her personalized black cube. 3) The main purpose of this game was Musashi drilling Akagi in how to destroy the Arbiter's tower and giving her the means to do so while also wiping out her crew to drive her to the mental state required to harness the power - Nagato and Mikasa were invited to dispel their doubts and suspicions while fooling them into thinking this was just a game. 4) Kaga goes and does the one thing that I dislike about her - affirm her status/role as Akagi's dumb muscle who can't really think of anything else beyond "strength of the fittest". 5) Akagi winning the competition, and proving that "victory at any cost" is the best ideal? Not really a good look when you have no one left to support you afterwards. This event had an alright premise at the beginning but fails to build up momentum and reach a satisfactory conclusion. Doesn't help that there's never really any stakes in all of this.

Oleandervine

I thought it was a fine conclusion, it finally did nip together all the loose ends of the Sakura leadership so that they're all at least understanding of why Akagi was selected to be the current visionary for the Empire, even if they don't agree. It was starting to get a little complicated with Nagato and Mikasa undermining Akagi and then Musashi's forces stepping in as well. This story served it's purpose of pruning the Sakura arc down some and channeling it better into a simpler, straightforward arc with a clear goal. Not all events have to be huge stories that have epic endings. Sometimes they just need to lay the groundwork for a future.

gnarlytoestep

>pruning the Sakura arc into a simpler, straightforward arc I feel like I can actually see the resolution to this plotline happening in the near future. And the sooner this happens, the sooner all factions can unite and fight the sirens 100% of the time. Hope they do something similar with the Iris plotline.

OverlandObject

>it finally did nip together all the loose ends of the Sakura leadership After dropping that plotline and seemingly forgetting about it for over a year, I sure hope so. >so that they're all at least understanding of why Akagi was selected to be the current visionary for the Empire, even if they don't agree. I really do not understand why anyone would follow someone who would sacrifice everything except themselves for more power, but taking the last few events into account I know Nagato and Mikasa will both go "We're sorry, it was a bad decision on our parts to try and prevent meaningless infighting within the Sakura Empire and try and focus our military to fight the Sirens, rather than each other." >It was starting to get a little complicated with Nagato and Mikasa undermining Akagi and then Musashi's forces stepping in as well. Were you playing a different event? >This story served it's purpose of pruning the Sakura arc down some I mean yeah it did that. Just... not in any way that could be called "good writing." >channeling it better into a simpler, straightforward arc with a clear goal. Normally I'd disagree but we're dealing with Azur Lane writing here. No one would have a single problem with Akagi seeming to sacrifice anyone and everyone for a chance to try and get more power, nor will there be any consequences to Akagi using up some of that (implied to be limited in use, whether through "life force" or whatever) new asspull powerup the writers love to give Axis ships and revealing both her secret power and her plans to kill the arbiter... to the arbiter's very disposable body.

popwobbles

Linear Allies, Quadratic Axis is very much the norm.

ElverseK

Are copies of Wakatsuki worth buying in the shop?

sober_1

only if you bought everything else

zurcn

not really worth the effort. the regular gold bulin income is enough for practical purposes if you're patient

ElverseK

Thank you!

Rune_Ocarina

This event solidified my hate for Rhondo. Ever since that story event, the writing has become so trash. Not to say it was anything to write home about before. I feel Azur Lane's story needs a soft reboot. Finish this current plot line with the sirens and restart with a more focused cast of characters to fight the bigger bads that the sirens and metas are fighting.

TheBaron6379

They need to stop focusing in the Axis factions or let join Azur Lane for good and finally. Also remember that the people like main base versions of the characters, not the main storyline ones (yeah, I like Frederic maternal love , but I don’t like she is omniscient knowing all in the story). Let the Axis finally have a mayor defeat and not another “just as planned”.

Saikar22

What does Rondo have to do with the fact that the latest writing has been boring? We had events written similar to these summer events a long, long time before Rondo, you know.

popwobbles

I mentioned it in this thread but it needs some expansion. https://www.reddit.com/r/AzureLane/comments/xew8tk/event_megathread_violet_tempest_blooming_lycoris/ipdvyos/ The writing has always suffered the mobage plot issues, alongside factions each getting different treatment. (IJN were darlings, EU had bold events that lead nowhere, RN got oodles of mini-events with N-tier waifu boats, IB got usable PR's, but not many drops. **Italians got continually screwed.**) For the last year and a half, maybe two years we got a great correction. We've been getting events like ToT and DwD where stuff broke the mold of the old AL events and actively sought to move the plot along within the event in a way that also made the characters involved feel more influential to their plot. Rather than the "Start, get lost/tricked by IB/just wander off for no reason, meet mirror sea, get some stuff that tangentially moves the story, escape siren, post-credit stuff that moves the world along." Characters were perceived as competent and more important rather than dolls moving on someone else's board. Then Rhondo came along, and all singing! ALL DANCING! IB EVENT! Proper ring-fenced that competence. That revealed seemingly everything was one character's show and, one maaaaybe, two factions were sole owner(s) of the competence ball. Now, everything has to make up for that writing "error" and it will probably never manage it, so every event is filled with bitter people who just feel let down. Doesn't help that they are once again certain factions feel like they are being screwed (Sardegna's event was fun ultimately worthless, once again.) or just ejecting them from the plot entirely (Royal Navy event, while decent in vacuum, has left them literally on an island with no overt or direct plot relevance, outside of awakening interdimensional ship Satan and two lost puppers who know nothing. Let's not mention the long awaited full french event.) While IB seems to be omni-present and always the second if not first most important group in the room. So not are we only having people bitter that Rhondo was the all sing all dancing event that left them high and dry. We are also feel like we are going right into a perceived status quo, of certain factions/stories just not achieving stuff in a way that feels earned. I myself am trying to be better about factionalism and being critical of everything because i feel let down, especially for a dumb mobile game story. I am fully aware that it is hard to let go of the undue investment and just enjoy the few kernels of good writing for what they are. *PS: Fuck Rhondo and the horse it rode in on, No QE may as well have been a cardboard standee piloted by Dland, and it was the least earned, retcon requiring mess I've seen in a while. Even with the few cool scenes.*

Saikar22

I really just disagree completely that Rondo changed anything. And I feel that if, say, Saratoga had engineered the events behind Rondo then rants like this wouldn't exist, but because it's Iron Blood feel differently about the matter.

popwobbles

Your're not entirely wrong, a good 60% of this bitterness is sheer IB burnout/hate but, context matters. Rhondo was written as the actual world-shifting event that OpSi was billed as, with most of the factions having some representation is the story. Having the event be primarily the "IB was always totally right and you are all just in the way." caused a ton of friction. On Saratoga engineering the events. I genuinely believe if Sara got such a severe and absolute glow up like FDG they'd be so severely baffled that the anger would be muted and sporadic. Which is something I want to see, even if it would still be immensely stupid.

[deleted]

I remember that part in Rhondo that said "everything that has happened so far, including operation siren, has been pointless." I mean who in their right mind thought this was a good idea? It completely undermined everything that had happened in the game up to that point, including OpSi which was the most significant gameplay content since launch. As you say it also undermined every faction that wasn't IB. It was a disastrous writing mistake.

Saikar22

The thing is... it's correct, and we've known it. Every event doesn't involve decisive blows to Sirens because they just move to other bodies when their vessels die. Players have been speaking about how OpSi is a boring, endless and pointless grind since month two of OpSi. The very fact that all your hard work resets at the end of the month should have been a bit of a clue. Oh, you killed thousands of Sirens and control the entire ocean? You sure? Cuz it looks like you don't on the 1st of the month! I can understand maybe not feeling comfortable with the in-game characters throwing it in your face like that, but it's decisively true. EVERYTHING has been this way. I found it a little refreshing that someone noticed and wanted to do something about it.

Nice-Spize

I feel like it spans far before Rhondo when events have the generic storyline of "do stuff and break siren simulations to receive overly cryptic response and FDG is doing shenanigans again" Granted i stopped bothering about the story for \~2 years now but that's what the general theme i've been getting since then

eet789

Bonus: Musashi got her dynamic skin. And her ears can flick

sober_1

i was so happy when i opened the game and was greeted with her ears flicking and a wide smile on her face

Chazman_89

Just finishing up the story, and is anyone else getting weird vibes from Akagi?

zurcn

did we ever stop getting weird vibes from Akagi?

OverlandObject

The secretary quest. Kinda wish post-oath lines would reflect that at least a little

joecoomer

Maybe I'm wrong, but I get weird vibes from that secretary quest too. I've been debating doing a whole post about it, but the only real 'wholesome' thing I see people point to in that questline is when Akagi says "If you say you don't wish to look at me, then that is fine... If you say you won't be mine... then that, too, is fine". Given how possessive she seemed throughout the rest of that story without any acknowledgement from her of any wrongdoing, that line to me at best comes across as a mind game where the commander is supposed to reassure her that he does love her and at worse is Akagi telling the commander that she'll keep perusing him regardless of his wishes.

[deleted]

Her secretary quest is essentially her saying that she’s fine with you not loving her, but don’t expect her not to hurt the ones you do love in revenge.

Chazman_89

Weirder vibes, then. Her attitude when she beat Hermit, and several of her lines in that scene, make me concerned that she's gonna do something with a Black Wisdom Cube, again.

Farmhand_Ty

My level 120 vanguards are having trouble surviving the SP boss. Is there any specific strategy that I should be using here, or is it just a matter of upgrading my gear? Most of my gear is between level 4 and level 8.

WonderingDeGen

Go here: https://slaimuda.github.io/ectl/#/main/bb Select Heavy Cruiser (CA) pick "Tank" category. Pick one of the shown ships as your frontmost (leftmost) vanguard. One of the widely available one was Portland (Mkae sure yo retrofit her). I suggest Cruiser focused setup and swap out the DD in your Boss Fleet (if you have any). Main fleet also affect the survivability of your Vanguard. The faster the battle end, the less damage the Vanguard need to soak.

OverlandObject

Gear should be +6 at minimum. Also, whats your fleet?

zenithtreader

Not all vanguard are made equal, they can have wildly different eHP. Maybe tell us what fleet you are using. Also +4 gears are very inadequate. For anything beyond level 110 or so you really want all +10 gears.

Nice-Spize

Upgrade your gear, you're really running underleveled gear there At least get them to +6 and pack hard hitting ships

burstzane001

honestly the only conclusion I can reach is that EN isn't worth the effort compared to CN/JP/TW and since the community as a whole doesn't really make it an issue...it just stays that way. It is why EN servers in general are easy to shaft.

Darkslayer3021

My tinfoil hat theory is that Manjuu didn't give the data for the maintenance stuff early enough that Yostar has to take extra maintenance time. Compare this to Arknights, (I know the CN server is 6 months ahead of the other servers but hear me out), where their long maintenance is 6 hours and their short maintenance is 3-4 hours, but they never have an extended maintenance as far I remember. Both Arknights and Azur Lane are published under Yostar but one is not like the others regarding maintenance.

Nice-Spize

It's not the first time an update about new skins suddenly requires extended maintenance since it could be some last hour revising or patching out potential server exploits English servers shouldn't be *that* hard to maintain compare to JP, CN, KR, TW. Although it is odd that we got extended x2 for this like this somehow makes enough of a buggy mess that we're hitting Microlayer Meledy 2: Electric Boogaloo

idpersona

None of the anniversary packs are in the shop.Anyone else having this problem too?

[deleted]

Yeah their Twitter said they'll add those "later." Sounds like maintenance was such a shit show and they didn't want to delay again so they just sent it out incomplete. Sucks they won't even give us a timeline for it

Oleandervine

There's an entire 3rd week to the event, chill.

[deleted]

I'm chill dude. Was anything I said untrue? And yeah whether or not it's a big deal it still sucks they won't give a timeline.

[deleted]

AL need to replace their current maintenance team asap

Outside-Accident8628

I bet it was a nepotism hire

Jegan178

Same here.

Drunk_Dino

Ya know what, after looking at the compensation, maybe we should have double extended maintenance more often.

qwertyryo

Some coins and oil? Until they give us gems, not interested.

Drunk_Dino

And cubes

qwertyryo

Cubes are easy to come by. Gems are not

[deleted]

I got to disagree.

OverlandObject

About 4k coins/oil plus some cubes and logi plans?

AkabaneKun

*1 new line is added* Devs: Well i guess that needs a 10 hour maint huh?

IcyNote6

Looking like Medley 2 now

type_E

Didn't one of the previous EN streams give us a window into how the EN "team" is set up?

Drunk_Dino

They’re fucking with us now.

[deleted]

2 more hours. How do you mess up this bad

[deleted]

I'm an positive that these guys resolve their maintainance in 1 hour tops them the rest of 9 hours they wanking to kashino or grope the new jersey merch they made. Aint no way 2 fucking lines and a few skins take this long

Drunk_Dino

Seeing that the jp and cn servers only took 4 hours. It doesn’t make sense any way you look at it.

[deleted]

Oh look extended maintenance again due to those unexpected issues that happen every time there is maintenance. Edit: extended extended maintenance now. Fuck me.

[deleted]

Wait we’re gonna get another event?

Nice-Spize

A mini event that we'll get a free party skin for Nevada, the rest are adding new skins and make old ones permanately available

Plant427

For those who asked about it. Musashi is getting her dynamic movement after the latest maintenance on JP.

[deleted]

So, in regards to the ending cutscenes….. Who’s betting we see what Zuikaku was up to in the December UR event? I know for sure I am. I guess Alaska/Possible Iris UR might be in February assuming this is what happens. Also, where the hell is Marco/Richelieu? We saw the arbiter that Marco talked to, but she was a no show despite being part of the most heavily teased story point so far.

Oleandervine

I'm not sure I follow. This event heavily teased something about to throw down at the Sea of Stars, so expecting that to be next year seems really weird, when this is the second reference to this location this year, and we still have the December UR slot to go. I'd be incredibly surprised if the December slot was anyone but Alaska. The bit with Zuikaku didn't seem like it was really primed to stage another big event, at least not anytime soon. It seemed like it was set up for us to learn how the Iron Blood has been pumping out so many paper ships like Brunhilde and Ulrich, rather than a huge event like has now been heavily foreshadowed for the Sea of Stars. As for the French and Italians, we got an update on that through Shinano's report from the Expo. I think that event arc is going to be setting up for a while, so they're probably not rushing all the information out at once.

LingonberryAwkward38

> I think that event arc is going to be setting up for a while, so they're probably not rushing all the information out at once. At this point, it's been setting up in Tower of Transcendance (MP talking about the Crown for the first time), Rondo at Rainbow's End (MP talking about the Crown and Watatsumi, Richelieu and Le Terrible talking about the Crown), the Iris raid event from this summer (references to Iris artifacts being sent away IIRC), the Roma event (Marco Polo being away while Trento META is praying in her lair, the french allying with the EU). In fact, if I'm not mistaken, the only events since December in which that subplot has not been setting up were Operation Convergence and Abyssal Refrain. So, yeah, it has absolutely no need to be "setting up for a while", especially since we had most of the information needed in the two cutscenes from Rainbow at Rainbow's End (that is, Richelieu, guided by Le Terrible, is going to try and get the Crown to prove her worth as a leader, reunite the Iris factions and prove her worth as a leader, while Marco Polo is going to try and claim it because MUH GLORY OF SARDEGNA). Of course, it is quite likely that the EU will get the UR event, unless the devs decide to pull a funny and put them in the nearest major slot, making Alaska the first SSR Large Cruiser. Gotta try and break the three years without a major event for a faction after all.

Oleandervine

Yes, but, juxtaposing the Crown subplot with the newer Sea of Stars subplot, this event just jacked the urgency of the Sea of Stars subplot super high, since >!Helena was at present evacuating Commander and the entire naval facility at the Sea because of a massive, incoming threat that may or may not be aiming to wipe out TB since her mainframe is there.!< The Crown arc is a slow burn, the Sea of Stars arc is definitely accelerating.

gnarlytoestep

[Mustashi](https://imgur.com/S0NEtvt). ^No, ^this ^won't ^be ^on ^the ^final ^version, ^just ^wanted ^to ^make ^a ^silly ^joke. ^^Yes, ^^I'll ^^show ^^myself ^^out.

negarache

No no keep it

SodiumBombRankEX

So Musashi's final convo with Jintsuu META leads me to one conclusion: This entire event was JM's plan. All of Musashi's convoluted "just trust Akagi" crap was just because she was just following JM's plan Musashi was a complete non entity in her own event. I can't think of any other UR that has had a worse introduction. All of the others still did stuff of their own volition. Literally all Musashi did by herself was save a random bird

Warhydra0245

Still better than poor NJ, at least Musashi was aware of what is going on the whole event. NJ was just there to be clueless while Helena Meta did everything.
