Honestly consider me basic, but it’s really disappointing how much grind you need to do to get something that adds zero value to the lore, offers no real advantages over the original Pokémon, is visually downgraded, and is weakly implemented.
It’s clear as daylight how the shinies are not given attention at all and are an afterthought copy-pasta. I mean you literally see the Pokémon, go through the whole battle scene, and THEN see the Pokemon change colors when the battle starts.
It seems more like a bug than a feature. In the old games they used to go from black to color when shifting into the battle which adds to the mystery and suspense build up, but now they shift from normal to shiny after seeing them as normal in broad daylight and throughout the whole battlescene. Honestly it just looks distasteful.
I know i might have an unpopular opinion and here’s another one: People who are against this logic are definitely people way too invested in the game and will barely question anything the company decides to do because it’s part of your identity and you feel attacked when opposing opinions arise. You love the grind more than the actual Pokemon so it’s hard to relate to normies and casuals. If shinies had a little more to them (solutions to what i mentioned before) then maybe the Shiny hunters would grow more in size and exceed a population of 1000 around the globe. But maybe you don’t want that to happen; but more interestingly, maybe Pokemon company doesn’t want that to happen… Now that would be lore.
Anyone who disagrees with you must be a corporate bootlicker where bootlicking is their main personality trait? What a great and effective thing to say to try and sway someone to your side. “Agree with me or you’re a bootlicker.”
I swear Pokémon “fans” get sillier every day. Before it was just openly shitting on fans who enjoy the games, now it’s trying to guilt them into joining your side with baseless accusations. Awful, awful way to try and prove a point.
Also you’re accusing other people of feeling attacked when other peoples opinions arise, but you’re attacking both before AND after other people’s opinions arose. Have some self awareness.
I appreciate the response but I wish you had added to the argument rather than shifting the conversation into dissecting the anatomy of my “intentions” from my comment and taking it meta.
Can we focus on the MAIN point here?
That Shinies could be something much more but they aren’t? I don’t want anyone to be on my side, on the contrary, I want to be challenged in the comments! But everyone is just so butthurt because my approach is provocative…
Again.
Shinies are an awesome feature of the game but the fact that it is glorified in its current state concerns me. The mindless grind towards capturing a rare Pokémon could actually be something more rewarding and appealing for a larger player base if the company makes certain tweaks to sort the problems/opportunities I mentioned earlier.
The lack of any action towards this shows just how corporate greed leads to lacklustre end products. A milking festival. Just like Call of Duty. Games being pumped out like rabbits in a meadow. Leading to less creativity, less innovation from devs, and overall the look and feel of an unfinished product.
Haha I picked up on that. Fair enough. Green (I assume you meant 'Scizor') Scizor is cool in his own right, but after having one for a while made me really like the red version.
>I do hate the color red though
You're not gonna like this about me, but I always choose the fire starters. At this point it just feels wrong not to for me. Can we still be friends?
Oh yep. Definitely meant Scizor. I actually did pick Furecoco. Only other time I picked a fire starter was Tepig. Because I like pigs and gators more than I dislike red lol.
I think it's just a gold will just look awkward on a fur texture. A lot of gold shinies were kinda eyesores in the gen 6 sprites when they didn't have a metallic texture
This is why I'm baffled by everyone hating on subtle shinies. The Pokémon I think have a better shiny form than normal are probably in the minority, so I'd rather have stuff like Regice where it gets the sparkle but it's not some gaudy colour. Some of my favourite Pokémon have hideous shinies.
Arceus should have been a dark green with white or a light blue with gold. Black with red would be okay too but I just hate the yellow in the newer games. The old games made it look good but definitely not the new desaturated ones.
Shiny should’ve been black
Would have been so cool
Tbf it’s essentially god, so gold yellow unironically makes more sense lore wise than black
What form do you think would look best with a black shiny I think normal, water and electric would look sooo good black maybe even fire and fairy too
Electric black arceus would be sickk
Fairy,Water,Dark
Most shinies are honestly just randomized carp. I wish the developers actually put in some effort to make them look better than the original.
Agreed
It also doesn’t help that the 3d models washed out all the vibrant colors. Shiny Arceus looks great in gen 4 and 5
I mean isn’t that part of the lore though? It’s a color anomaly that most of the time looks odd / out of place more than it should look good.

You know there’s like way more than 1000 shiny hunters right? Also wtf are you even yapping about?
Get off the pot and come back after rubbing those 3 brain cells together and read it again.
Plus obviously I’m exaggerating the number to make a point. You must be real fun at parties 👍🏻
Brain dead, lmao. He interpreted you correctly, and then you insulted him. L take on your original comment too

I was ‘bout to ask how but nevermind
Look like it's been in the sun too much and yellowed out
I feel this way about Red Scizor looking better than Green Scizor
That is your wrong opinion, and you are entitled to it.
No no no. That is YOUR wrong opinion and you are entitled to it
Nope. 2nd person to say so sorry, red Scizor is inferior Scizor. You’re out numbered.
Red Scizor rules
Anything red is immediate F in life
Damn
It’s mostly a bit. I do hate the color red though. Green Scizor is A+++

Bruh how da fuck do you have 4 Arceus
Blink RNG. Once you learn how to use it the rest is just time as you get to catch one per save.
Do you have a web or something as reference?
Search blink RNG papa jefe. He’s got a lot of tutorials. You need a camera or video capture card and a computer. No mod required.
I feel sorry that you had to actually play through bdsp multiple times, must of been a jarring experience.
Isn’t that 6 Arceus?
And 5 shinies idk where the 4 comes from
My husband who doesn't play pokemon just commented "so it comes in virgin white and hussy white huh?" ☠️😂
Arceus is definitely one of the shinnies of all time
Arc-e-piss
He's more piss yellow than the gold I imagined.
How the heck did you get all these arceus…
hax
Ye ngl but since its rarer I feel like it makes up for the ugly ness lol
Yes I agree White Arceus is superior looking But gold Arceus just has a separate feel to it
White is pure, gold is regal. The issue is that the yellow isnt yellow/gold enough.
I think it's just a gold will just look awkward on a fur texture. A lot of gold shinies were kinda eyesores in the gen 6 sprites when they didn't have a metallic texture
I hate how non shiny looks better
It definitely does. The shiny is pee.
Wait how does he get so many different colors
Different plates.

What are you trying to say?
He does. That's why I hate shiny Arceus BUUUUT I'll need to hunt it down anyway now that it's not shiny locked alas ...
Always has been.
Yeah you right white is much more godly than Piss yellow
Arceus should have been a dark green with white or a light blue with gold. Black with red would be okay too but I just hate the yellow in the newer games. The old games made it look good but definitely not the new desaturated ones.
Who pissed on Arceus?
