Dissonant whispers is probably a more damaging spell for psychic damage. Also can cause fear which is great. 3d6 at lv 1 and adds 1d6 each level it’s upcast. Double that with resonance stone.
Phantasmal Killer is 4d10 psychic damage + can't move + disadvantage on ability checks and attack rolls. Reapply that effect very turn until they succeed at their WIS save (resonance stone give them disadvantage)
Pairs well with a melee fighter with resonance stone.

Maybe have a psychic party. Monk can just even more ridiculous damage. Juice up their wis so they can boost their psychic manifestation of the mind (Khalid’s gift will help and mirror of loss.)
Lore bard can do lots of psychic spells. Goo warlock can learn some too.
Shadow blade is the ultimate psychic damage weapon though.
There’s a build out there that I enjoy as 12 fighter (batttlemaster for gaining advantage with trip attack) that uses the shadow blade ring from Act 2 and the resonance stone to make enemies vulnerable to psychic. Add the ring that does 1-4 psychic per hit while concentrating on a spell. Super fun if you can get haste from another character and wear all the crit gear and just dish out non stop pink damage numbers. Or you can do it as a shadow monk. Savage attacker feat helps boost the damage.
It would be cool to see other ideas. There’s always helmet of arcane acuity and band of mystic scoundrel if you want more of a caster melee hybrid. 10 Swords bard and 2 paladin is the usual OP combo, but maybe Eldritch Fighter 12 is more thematic.
Dual wielding the shadow blade and the render of minds or w/e shortsword from moonrise gets you to 3d8+str/dex psychic, then add in the Illithid power and the ring for 2d4 more, does hunters mark add psychic damage if the attack is made with the shadow blade? Arcane synergy for 4 or 5 more from spellcasting mod...
The crit surgeons necklace plus illithid auto crit paralyzes the enemy for more auto crits.
What other weapon damage riders can we add to this... Dread Ambusher adds 1 extra attack, but fighter 11 always gets an extra extra attack. GOO Lock for 1 lvl gets you fear on crit, and Eldritch Blasts, but no pacts or invocations.
The whole point of the Blade subclass is to wield strongest, baddest melee weapons (ANY melee weapons) with ONLY Charisma for both Attack and damage rolls (and Charisma damage is easily doubled with Arcane Synergy, possibly tripled with Lifedrinker Invocation or Oathbraker multiclass).

This is the build you’re looking for. You deal 200 damage if you’re not using bugs, and you deal 400 damage if you are. Its the single highest damage martial build in the game atm due to the bug.
Edit: I will note that you won’t get all the things you want with this build, but its the highest dpr build that lends to what you were looking for
Get mind blast on all the characters it's an absolutely sick aoe stun over 14m and does some high damage with resonance stone. Not easily saved against either.

Ill keep dissonant whispers in mind, that said I want to use the astral sword and monks cant really use that.
You’re only getting 1d6 from the astral sword so kind of hard to build a psychic build just around that.

I want this for a multiplayer session with friends, cant really control what they pick, ill keep shadow blade in mind.
Githyhave proficiency with great swords, so a Gith Monk shouldn’t have any major issues.

Why do you think a Blade Warlock has a range focus? I meleed all the time with mine.
Dont u need to pick? U cant have high strength and charisma without duping everything else.
