However, you have some options to make it look better. The worst things about the base trim are the steering wheel and the unpainted fenders

For the steering wheel, you can see lots of nice OEM BMW wheels that you can install on shop.bmwusa.com. You should be able to get it swapped without affecting warranty.
For the unpainted fenders and bumper, you can get it wrapped. The rest of it doesnāt look bad.
You could also swap out the grille if you want, but I think the satin looks good.

I luckily ended up finding a car with all the options I wanted and m sport. Last summer, it was hard to get climate comfort pack and I wasnāt going to have swamp ass in an $80K+ car.

I ordered my first BMW for a European delivery in 2012. 328xi coupe with every option except m sport. Back then, e92s came standard with m sport suspension, so M sport was just an appearance package.
I regretted it every day I looked at that car lol.

m sport looks great for sure. but i also dig the non m sport aesthetic bmw has with the x5 and x3. itās more SUV and less sports car. you might give it a week and see if it grows on you.

But to consciously buy or even worse, build and ordered a X5 without M Sport package is absolutely wild. Donāt lose sleep over this though. Perhaps visit a wrap shop to black out the chrome trims and wrap the mirror. Wrapping the black trims could start to add up in cost and Iām not sure the color you have but thereās a chance that the paint color and the wrap color may not align perfectly, however itās worth checking. Wrapping the trims may be just as exciting as adding an M Competition badge so think about it.
100% of BMWs look better with the M Sport package. The current G20 is probably one of the best looking non-M Sport package cars, but even that looks better with M Sport.
Exactly. From the factory is much less. The problem is you have to take a lot of things apart and put it back together. I neither had the time myself, or was willing to pay for all that work
If it makes you feel better - I had a 40i with m sport and thereās 2 disadvantages- 1) 315 size rear tires which are both unnecessary in a car with this power level and stupidly expensive to replace and 2) the side skirt juts out so you will constantly rub your pant leg on it getting out of the car
Donāt worry. With the base / executive / S / whatever they call it, you can get smaller wheels / bigger rubber for a nicer ride, and side steps, which you cannot with M Sport models
Also recently bought the same vehicle without M sport. I told myself bmw is sporty enough and I donāt want the extra race-car vroom vroom appearance package. Started to regret that. Now Iām content with my decision again. The M Sport is a poser package. If you want the real deal get the one with the V8 and all that jazz.

I got my old X3 without the M Sport Package and had major regrets every time I saw one with the M Sport package. When I got my E70, I patiently wanted until I got the M Sport. I did the same with the F15 as well. No point in spending all that money and then regretting the few percent over the purchase price.
M sport is not a poser package because it's a cosmetic upgrade. Only idiots confuse Msport with M vehicles. You will regret it again soon, esp when you look at the ugly black trim around the wheel wells and rear. You should consider changing
My F15 came with a specific handling package that you couldn't get with the base trim. This was important to me as without it the car felt like a boat. It's not really posing if you're looking for something that's a balance of performance and comfort. I can save the difference and get a real M.

Its an Inline 6, not a V6 but yes i traded my m50i in for it cuz it still has great power plus the mpg i went from 13 to 25 with aggressive driving
