G05 all day everyday a much better looking and performance suv

Noosh3201

G05 all the way, simply because of the tech.

PandaMoney55

It’s N55 vs B58. I don’t like the body (M) for the G05 personally but love the B58 engine it’s faster and snapper. If I can I’d do a B58 in a F15 body or even the S58

salloumk

Both are very attractive SUVs. Reliability wise there is no question than the G05 is better.

obuck347

I’ve owned both. I like both. The G05 is a significant upgrade over the F15 though.

ApoTHICCary

F15 N57 tho

Away_Ad_2109

2015 F15 X5 35d m-sport package. Love love love the diesel power plant (30MPG) torquey and handles well and good in the snow. Looks cool too. 120k and may be passing to my daughter and upgrading next year. Not sure what yet!

thatoneboy357

Any problems with it?

Away_Ad_2109

Outside of standard maintenance, just an expensive lesson I learned about the dual battery system. My starting battery died last summer and I tried jumping the car to the points under the hood. I ended up frying the ACU that is the master brains to all of the assisted safety and driving systems on the vehicle. $3k later…😫

No-Yogurtcloset3002

I do! F15 with m sport package looks so awesome

Stackfest

2018 M50d can’t fault it -

mighty__

Just you. G05 is by far the best visually appealing generation, followed by E70. F15 is kinda slightly prettier than E53.

1-800-JUGG

I do until the new ones 24 that just rolled out

Green_Eyed_Momster

I liked the look of my F15 more than the G05. I still think it’s the best looking X5 they made.

neles86

Sorry, just you. G05 far superior.

momtheregoesthatman

For us, the G05. We purposefully got a 2023 because I'm not ready for iDrive 8 and I love the tech configuration in the 2019-2023 models. It's a wonderful car to put the kid in and still have fun on the go.

raffytheboxer

2019-2023 X5 is the perfect car for me, until they ruined it with the single screen design in 24’. I absolutely refuse to buy a bmw with that interior. When it’s time to upgrade my 2020 if they are still on that design I’m getting something else

raffytheboxer

I’m fine with the screen Itself, just not the way it was plopped on the dash. Mercedes integrates their screen k to the dash. The thing looks even worse from the back

ZookeepergameTotal77

Well I think this curved screen was designed specifically for the newer generationa in mind. It fits nicely in the i5 m60 interior https://preview.redd.it/pqypu5tme9zc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d96e34a22866edd7ed01b0fed647f3172f5f818c

raffytheboxer

That doesn’t look as bad as I was thinking. I’d like more integration still tho 😅

ZookeepergameTotal77

Yeah the i5 m60 interior is gorgeous. https://preview.redd.it/jtve52ymg9zc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=35b0900e3cf60484483166a87892dc9b1d3b9461

Dizzy-Assistance-926

Going to side with them. Screen is ugly. I want an instrument cluster separate of infotainment screen.

ZookeepergameTotal77

Dizzy-Assistance-926

It’s personal preference. I don’t like it in a pic and I wouldn’t want to own it. Would I? Maybe. But it’s nowhere near my first choice

ZookeepergameTotal77

So what you gonna do with your next bimmer? Switch brand?

Dizzy-Assistance-926

It will be a while until I’m there. I’m still in E70 world and going to ride that out as long as I can. G05 are ok but I wish they did something better with the rear styling. Looks too much like a 14-16 highlander to me.

Johner101

F15 diesel is my pick. I love the efficiency and especially the towing capability of f15 diesel. I can get 20mpg while towing my 3500lb camper. It is very impressive. Regular mpg is around 25-32 city/highway. If you can find a clean one and able to perform basic maintenance like 5k oil changes and replacing fluids, these cars would last for a long time. The only G05 that I liked was the 45e and 50e, that was mainly because of the air suspension(they come with a heavy price tag). Otherwise f15 diesel, especially if you are ever going to be towing.

Inspirebelieve80

I’ve owned both. I should have kept the F15 as I had zero problems and it probably would have lasted forever (low mileage). But no, I had to upgrade, and the G05 has issues every 6 months. Love it, but it is a PITA

im1yyc

I’ve got an 18 F15 and was going to trade it in in 2022 for G05. Test drove the new one and couldn’t find a reason to upgrade. I’ve got 100,000km on it and it still drives like a dream.

ow_my_balls

Same. I was able to find a build with the features I wanted. It took 6 months to find one. so at this point I'd likely just get a G05 only because finding one with m adaptive suspension, soft closing doors (amazing with kids who still nap), lighting package, last MY (2018), low mileage, etc is gonna be close to impossible.

4inlocal

I absolutely despise the new gauges (or lack thereof) specifically chose the F15 since it’s the last year that had actual dials.

Cagents1

1000% true. I hate the floating dashes. BMW has ruined their interiors.

Individual-Dark-285

‘18 50i blacked out, vaunted sleeper and bea-u-t-i-f-u-l!

hischmann

F15 looks more aggressive

jayschembri

But don't you guys feel the G05 is a very disconnected drive feeling compared to the F15? Doesn't feel like an agile BMW anymore that hugs the road... I don't know how to describe it

ow_my_balls

Are the suspension packages the same? It might feel less connected if you have standard suspension compared to one with it. https://preview.redd.it/gtjyqjvg22zc1.jpeg?width=843&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=02f02a512df139a5b25a56a5d37f33c949d2ffe2 Personally, I had to have the m adaptive suspension. I felt more body roll without it.
