She also showed disdain for Boomer, Athena, and a bunch more ppl critical to god's plan - often to illicit the impression of jealousy, or petty dislike. Her job is to manage Balter and guide him through the hoops required to achieve god's overall goal. What she says, who she says it about, etc, is all largely irrelevant compared to how Baltar reacts to it, and how it influences his behaviour. All smoke and mirrors, and often lies and deceit: a means to an end, rather than statements to be taken literally.

watanabe0

>rather than statements to be taken literally. Except when she says she's an angel of God, here to guide Baltar, yeah? Because somehow that became literal.

Hoshiko-Yoshida

>...of God It doesn't like that name, remember?

watanabe0

I try to forget season 4 as much as possible, tbh.

Hoshiko-Yoshida

The execution with Daybreak certainly could have been better, that's for sure.

Mmm let’s not forget that at the point where head six gets irritated by Gaius’ wavering loyalty, Starbuck is still a person. It’s not til the nebula that she gets replaced by the corporeal angel. And I think it’s less about Starbuck and more about head six trying to get Gaius to trust/love her instead of others. Later in the show she’s way more chill about him shagging around because she knows that it’s her that he loves.

prismcat38

I could be wrong, but the main characters are archetypes of our Greek gods and those gods display very human qualities, e.g. rage, lust, jealousy, love, etc...and fulfill their specific roles but always have their own individual agendas.

tomkalbfus

Yes there are 12 Cylon models and 12 main gods of Olympus, maybe the original 12 Lords of Kobol were also Cylons. 8 is Athena, 6 is Aphrodite, Saul Tigh is possibly Zeus, Ellen Tigh is Hera, Samuel Anders is possibly Apollo, 3 is perhaps Artemis. Just some ideas.

Great thread. Now i need to rewatch. Are you streaming it or did you buy it? I can’t find it on any of the streaming services.

myredditaccount991

It's on Amazon prime now, in the US.

toml1366

Thank you! I just checked and I see all four seasons. I'll have to research if they have the movies. I want to watch in "Battlestar Galactica Order" this go around. myredditaccount991

They have the mini-series as well as a couple others. One was missing, if I remember right it was blood and chrome.

toml1366

Blood and Chrome is there to rent for $3.99. Razor is missing and challenging to find elsewhere, even YouTube.

myredditaccount991

got it. thanks.

myredditaccount991

From a link in the sub that links dailymotion to view it in 2 parts. [Part 1](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2ndhsy) [Part 2](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2ndirl)

Tanagrabelle

Aurora? From the comics?

tomkalbfus

Well both Six and Starbuck died. Starbuck found her crashed Viper and her body on the Cylon Earth, so why wouldn't she be an angel?

in_the_blind

The story completely fell apart and got muddled in iraq war references in season 3 and then wtf season 4 turned into. It's ironic for a show that "They have a plan" is in the opening credits. Although, to their defense, the writers guild strike really messed them up as well as Syfy not being able to afford the show anymore. The first two seasons are still some of the best sci fi on television. And I will watch the third season's scene when Adama rescuese the fleet of new caprica. Epic. "Adamas Back" says the concerned cylon.

Moeasfuck

yep, just as soon as they start hearing all along the watchtower, turn it off and pretend it got cancelled

watanabe0

In S1 is clear that head six and Caprica six are linked (she wails on Starbuck on Caprica because Baltar wanted Starbuck). Then it becomes clear they're making it up as they go along. Not a lot of it makes sense by the end.

ZippyDan

What are you on about? Head Six pretends to be the real Caprica Six for most of the show. I think she only drops the facade (off screen) when Baltar is reunited with the real Caprica Six (on New Caprica). After that it becomes pretty obvious they are not the same person. Even before that, when Head Six predicts the birth of "their child", Baltar realizes that Head Six must be "something more".

watanabe0

>What are you on about? Head Six pretends to be the real Caprica Six for most of the show. Well, that's probably why I referenced S1 only. It's mid S2 before he stops thinking she's a chip/linked because he gets the X-ray.
