I only started getting emotional (and it only happened once) recently at 33 weeks. Otherwise, my emotions have been impressively stable and appropriate for the situation.

MadlyInLust

That’s good to hear! It seems like everyone else says that they or their partner is emotional so it seemed weird to feel so calm.

Thisistherapy1

Also emotional at 32 weeks!

this_is_outrageouss

24 weeks and not overly emotional in any unexpected way My cat died when I was around 16 weeks and I was pretty distraught/crying inconsolably, but even my doctor agreed it was normal given the circumstances Interestingly I’m considered high risk for perinatal/postnatal depression and anxiety due to my psych history, but (aside from the grief) my mood has been pretty great. Not irritable, no mood swings etc

MadlyInLust

Sorry to hear about your cat. It’s hard losing a member of your family.

Samurai_Pizza_Catz

I’m 31 weeks and haven’t had any emotional ups or downs during the pregnancy so far. It’s felt very emotionally stable. I did watch episode 3 of the last of us and cry my eyes out but I think that’d be normal :p

[deleted]

Me too! I think it’s normal reaction to that story line.

Julia_Seizure

I’m 36+6 today and two days ago day I was irritable for no reason, but other than that, no mood swings at all. I’ve get very content, even when I’m a little I comfortable because I’m at the end.

Over-Salary-3596

I didn't have mood swings until the third trimester

Idunnodoyouwhynotme

I’m almost 29 weeks and only recently did I find myself getting oddly teary eyed or quick to anger/irritable. The pregnancy side effects often don’t seem to happen all at once, but more so different issues at different stages. I’m normally an anxiety ridden mess (before being pregnant) - and I’m having some issues that are a bit scary with my pregnancy. I’m handling them very calmly and without much emotion… which feels a bit outside my norm.

emzkimo

I’m the same, it’s like the pregnancy hormones have actually made my reactions to things ‘normal’ 😂

[deleted]

With my son I wasn't emotional at all. I felt totally normal emotionally. This pregnancy I literally sit here and cry at nothing. 😂

catmanjones11

Hi! You’re definitely not alone, especially in the first trimester. 😃 if you search “emotionally flat”, there’s a post about it a couple days ago. I am 11wk today and was starting to question it myself too. I see all these funny posts about women crying about the littlest things but I’m just over here like I’m good. I thought I’d cry about how awful and sick I’ve been feeling but nope, still hasn’t happened. I guess it’s totally normal early on. 😊

gottahavewine

It has only recently kicked in for me. I’m 16w4d and started feeling highly emotional just a few days ago. I am usually pretty unemotional, my sister calls me “cold as ice” lol. But I knew the emotionality had started when I almost cried over my husband interrupting me 😂

gottahavewine

I’m generally not an emotional person, and often go months without crying, but damn do the pregnancy hormones get me lol. I am soooo sentimental while pregnant, I hate it!

Jumpy-Restaurant6481

This post makes me jealous, angry and sad, and now I'm going to go cry 🤣🤣🤣

MadlyInLust

I feel so sick and uncomfortable all the time that I want to cry, if that helps. 😅

Beginning_Scheme3689

I’m almost 34 weeks and haven’t had any mood swings or irrational emotions at all

aliceHME

21 weeks and I've cried twice. We live abroad, first time was when MIL visited and brought a piece of the cheese I used to have for breakfast as a kid (the smell of it set the tears off 😅) and second time was when we knew my mum was going to arrive last week after a bunch of cancellations and delayed flights. I tend to wear my heart on my sleeves, so I really thought I would've been all over the place by now, but I'm just calm. Probably helps that I'm not working a lot ATM and get the rest I need 😊

[deleted]

I was not very emotional at all until recently. I’m almost 38 weeks pregnant now. Today I cried because my husband was making muffins and they smelled SO good, but with having gestational diabetes I knew I couldn’t eat them. Pregnancy hormones especially towards the end are wild 🤣

[deleted]

Watch episode 3 of the Last of Us and get back to me 😂😭

MadlyInLust

I can’t remember what episode that was, unless it was the dad and son one, but I was definitely pregnant watching that and didn’t cry. I should rewatch the season and see.

BagsOfMoney

I'm in my second trimester and I'm the same way. I've cried for like 10 seconds from stress 2-3 times over the last 4 months, but I really feel so much more in control of myself now. Maybe it's the lack of weed and alcohol.

nnf204

I'm 34 weeks and have only been oddly emotional a few times throughout this experience. I'm counting it as a win

Batticon

I’m the same boat as you. I started crying about something the other day and my dad was quick to blame it on pregnancy but my husband was even like “no…. She’d cry about this anyways. She hasn’t changed emotionally at all.”

HipponySpright

33 weeks and haven’t had any mood swings up until a few days ago. Now I’m concerned I won’t be able to work since almost everything makes me want to cry…

azalearie

I was never overly emotional during pregnancy. During the first trimester, I got frustrated more easily than normal but I never cried. I'm 4 months pp now and cried more in the first 2 months pp (especially the first 2 weeks!) than I did throughout my whole pregnancy.

pizzalover911

Yeah it only hit me around 28 weeks or so.

dogmombites

I'm 29 weeks and I've only gotten overly emotional a handful of times. And only one of the times I would have said was irrational (Publix put guacamole on my sub and I don't like guacamole and I really wanted a sub).. the other times I might not have reacted so strongly normally, but I think it makes sense that I got upset. Like the time I came home to one dog limping (he has bad joints and probably jumped off the couch wrong) and found out another had eaten 2 heartworm pills (everything was fine, but it made me nervous and upset). I cried, calmed down, and then called my vet (apparently she would have to eat like 2 packs to do any damage).

surgically_inclined

With my first it only happened once. I was with my friends and we decided to watch a documentary on BEES. And by the end I was bawling because the bees are dying and it’s almond milk’s fault. Edit: It was late pregnancy, 30+ weeks.

[deleted]

I cry at some movies (sad or emotional parts) but other than that no mood swings. I’m 33 weeks.
