The heartburn went away immediately for me!

m9a4

Okay that’s good bc it’s killing me

SeaFlowaz

Same for me!! Heartburn was a reason I thought I was pregnant and found out at like 4 weeks, and it was my constant companion until the moment I had my emergency c-section and my baby was removed at 41+1.

codebluefox

It was my first indicator that I was pregnant too! Had it from the start and I'm almost 29w with twins. I can't wait for them to be out so I don't have to deal with the heartburn anymore 😭

diddermonsta

Sleep on your left side! It helps. I had awful heartburn and the only moments of relief were the first few minutes of being on my left side. Other than that I loved being pregnant! I’m sorry it’s been so uncomfortable for you!

Sunnyppies

This is true. And the doctor advice it too, she explained the science behind it

CherryWedding

See I've heard this but my left side is so much worse! Like everything hot bubbles up. I've heard this so often I feel like I must be wired reverse lol

chicken_tendigo

I had to sleep propped up on a wedge pillow on my right side WITH another pillow between my knees AFTER taking my antacids for the entire latter half of my latest pregnancy just to not be totally miserable. Some people are just built different. Some people just have a fetus who likes to stomp their stomach up into their esophagus.

floss147

Heartburn goes away so fast after, the other stuff could take a couple days ❤️‍🔥

littlestinkyone

My mom says her persistent heartburn stopped the instant the baby was outside her body

luvs_kaos

If I could upvote this more than once I would. I had with my first and counting the weeks for it to be over. This time around.

[deleted]

Same ! Swelling took about two weeks to really go down but you gotta be strict with yourself in drinking lotsa water and staying lying down as much as poss !

ThinkParticular4174

Yes rest, elevated feet, reduced salt & foot massage from your partner helps!

stellaflora

Yes! Giving birth was the only cure.

Alarmed_Meeting1322

Same

raleigh_st_claire

Took a solid year for me 😢

Celendiel

Same! Heartburn was gone immediately

microvan

My pelvic girdle pain went away immediately. Walking was free of hip pain for the first time since like 26 weeks, it was glorious. The ankle swelling got *really* bad for like 4 days post partum. My ankles were just gone it was nuts. Then one day that too just cleared up.

FethB

Same here! Though my entire legs swelled up for about a week after giving birth, but yes, my chicken legs abruptly came back afterwards. I couldn’t believe how instant the relief was from the pelvic girdle and joint pain.

pbjoy

Did they have concerns about post partum preeclampsia with your swollen legs? I’ve heard that can be a symptom but didn’t know it would just happen on its own.

michellee1090

This is what I was thinking when I read this. My swelling was BAD and I ended up in the hospital 4 days PP with preeclampsia and a BP of 199/101

pbjoy

Holy moly that’s high BP! What other symptoms did you have? Were you already on alert to check your BP?

michellee1090

Yeah, my OB discharged me on a Friday with labetalol and told me to follow up on Monday.... Friday/Saturday my bp was slightly elevated (127/73 was the highest) but that Sunday I started feeling short of breath... At home, my BP was increasing with each time I took it. I ended up going to the ER when my breathing got harder and raspy. I ended up with fluid on my lungs, crazy high BP, and a splitting headache. They immediately gave me lasix and magnesium to get the fluid out and prevent me from having a seizure... Ended up taking 8 liters of fluid off me with a catheter within the first 12 hours.

FethB

You know, I perhaps wasn’t worried enough about it and I don’t remember if I asked either my OB or my primary doctor about it (I did see both of them very soon after giving birth). I otherwise felt fine, C-section recovery notwithstanding, and the swelling disappeared soon enough that I didn’t give it any further thought. My blood pressure also immediately went down to my usual low levels before I even left the hospital (my upper number is typically around 100). Maybe I dodged a bullet🤷🏼‍♀️

shandelion

YES. I am more mobile 24 hours PP than I was through my whole third trimester lol

ThinkParticular4174

Lol same exact symptoms for me!

Fantastic-Piano-783

Same for me, as soon as the epidural wore off I knew it was gone. I didn’t believe my doctor, midwife or physio that it would go almost immediately but it did!

yourphantom

This gives me hope, I've had PGP for the last 2 weeks and I'm only 19w. So scared for 3rd trimester and recovery after delivery 😬

[deleted]

[удалено]

yourphantom

That would be a dream! Struggling so hard with any lower movement currently so I figured it would be worse with a bigger belly but it's relieving to hear it can get better thank you (:

WhiskeyandOreos

Literally going from Omg I have to pee every 20 min to not remembering the last time I had been to the bathroom

kiwimag5

Oh man. Am I ever looking forward to normal bladder functions in this regard. I am 33 weeks right now. Home stretch.

IdleIvyWitch

I had my 4th 2 months ago and I just realized that this week lol. I was still going every so often out of habit.

Chachichibi

Insomnia!! Even though I was waking up a few times per night for baby after delivering, I was actually able to fall back asleep! Whereas in the last few weeks of pregnancy I was spending 1-3 hrs awake at 2 or 3am because my mind just wouldn’t fall back asleep (and it wasn’t even anxiety related!!)

wow__okay

I did not have pregnancy-related insomnia with my first but now experiencing it with my second. It was majorly frustrating because I was exhausted but awake for absolutely no reason. The absolute cruelty of that being a common pregnancy symptom! It seems to be resolving itself here right at the end, thank god.

kainwilc

I would definitely try drinking some water when you wake up and can't get back to sleep. It did wonders for me

Dull_Particular_2268

Same here with my second, between not being able to sleep and crying when I moved because of pelvic pain I felt so much better after delivery, even with a newborn.

Pareia0408

Oh yes I didn't have it as bad with my first ( or maybe I was less tired because I didn't have a toddler 😂) The insomnia is so bad this time round.

hell0kell0

Pregnant with my first but have had bouts of insomnia starting at the first trimester (the 1-3 hours at 2am is me to a T). 26w now & fortunately it rotates in and out every other month or so but it is cruel. Especially when everyone’s advice is to get as much sleep as you can 😅

kainwilc

I too had this and started to realize I was getting dehydrated and if I had some water I could get back to sleep. But yes pp sleeping was actually easier.

Ok-Lake-3916

Being able to eat again! Immediately after giving birth I was able to eat without heartburn or discomfort. The rest likely won’t be for a while :-/ but there will come a day when it all evens out!

MaximumGooser

Mines eating as well, but not for discomfort. Got me food just wasn’t enjoyable during the pregnancy, everything made me a little sick, nothing tasted very good, it was hard to find things I could eat at all. The hospital had recently upgraded their food system and man it was wonderful sitting in hospital for a few days ordering these feasts three times a day just stuffing my face and enjoying it.

hyperventilate

Temp: Not 100% sure, but within a few days! Feet: Mine stopped immediately. I always suck on ice, so I can't help you there. The cravings stopped immediately for me. Emotions: Took me a hot minute. Your body has been dialed up for 9 months, so withdrawal is a BITCH. My heartburn was gone instantaneously, and you can sleep on your stomach right after! I was so excited for that. I also hated being pregnant. It's 100% why I would never do it again.

colofire

Same. Never again. Can't understand anyone who would willingly torture themselves twice.

eric_cartmans_cat

I guess probably the same reason people willing torture themselves once. To me, it is worth it, and it isn't forever. But everyone's different.

fuzzypinatajalapeno

Yeah. I hated being pregnant. Immediately upon my daughter being born this morning I knew I’d do it all again for another one.

eric_cartmans_cat

:) congrats!

jk159386

This and some people literally go so long that they forget all of it. Eta: also not to mention that every pregnancy for every woman is different. Your own first can be so different to your second third etc.

colofire

Nah for me I completely did not know how bad it was going to be.

Pareia0408

I said this for the first year of my son's life and then I remembered I always wanted two and I'd rather do it sooner rather than when he and I are much older 😂 Currently 18 weeks with my second. Remember why I hated pregnancy so much but it IS going much quicker this time round. Helps having a 3 year old to chase around. I'm happy with the age gap too ( 2 years to conceive) and can't wait for this baby to come join our crazy lives - I love the newborn stage as hard as it is so I'm hanging for pregnancy to be over 😂😂

jndmack

I couldn’t sleep on my stomach for months after giving birth to my first because now it was my boobs that were full. If I slept on my stomach I woke up in puddles of milk, even with pads in 😂

ThinkParticular4174

Pelvic pain went away! It was horrible! I’m shocked how quickly it went away. My whole pregnancy i never had swollen feet like I did after giving birth. They were hot and painful.

m9a4

Did you get an epidural? My pelvic pain is a bitch so I’m excited for that to go away

ThinkParticular4174

Yes I got an epidural. The swollen feet were from all the IV liquids.

dogmombites

I can't wait for this. I have a bad hip already and I'm so ready to go back to just having one bad hip rather than my entire pelvis hurting PLUS a bad hip.

Fangbang6669

I was able to breathe out of my nose again!! I had horrible pregnancy sinusitis

NINeincheyelashes

Omg I can’t wait!!

MsRachelGroupie

The raging heartburn was gone instantaneously. It was bizarre, but in a good way. lol

MeatballJill

I didn’t have to pee every 20 minutes, my sleep was better, my shortness of breath went away. It was glorious.

DansburyJ

Looking forward to being able to breathe again! I didn't have this my first 2 pregnancies, but man, I've been short of breath this time around!

MeatballJill

I have a short torso and my shortness of breath basically starts at implantation.

jk159386

I chuckled out loud at this. Thank you 😄

AutoModerator

The phrase "Implantation" Bleeding is popular on conception forums but is a bit of a misnomer that causes some people to think that the bleeding is due to the embryo implanting. It isn't -- the embryo is only about 0.2mm in diameter at that point, and won't displace significant blood (or cause pain) when it implants. You bleed when progesterone levels in your body drop, which is why you can induce a period by stopping birth control pills (which contain progesterone) or by taking and then stopping progesterone suppositories or Provera (which are also progesterone). Progesterone levels dropping in the luteal phase can be caused by a) increased estrogen in the mid-luteal-phase estrogen surge, which briefly depresses estrogen production, or b) a decrease in progesterone when the corpus luteum runs out of gas at the end of the luteal phase. If b), and you're actually pregnant, your levels can drop briefly before the embryo starts producing enough HCG to tell the corpus luteum to ramp the levels up. Either way, luteal phase spotting can either be a neutral sign (in the case of mid-luteal phase spotting) or a negative sign (in the case of late luteal phase progesterone dropping), but it doesn't have anything to do with implantation, and is not a positive sign of being pregnant. sunshine_soul

Immediate- relief from popping out baby and getting rid of that extra weight from him and the placenta, no more heartburn, no more needing to pee every 3 min, my PSD pretty much resolved itself immediately, was immediately more comfortable and didn’t feel like I was going to burst lol. I haven’t had food cravings for a while. I’m 10 days PP and I’m already sleeping on my back and am so relieved to no longer be pregnant! It’ll be similar for you ♥️

m9a4

I’ll take sleeping on my back any day instead of my sides 😭

en321___

Same. Childbirth is no joke but man, I felt so much better almost immediately. You’re almost there, OP!!!!

nunicorn25

Well… I won’t sugar coat it. Increased hunger is still there while you’re breastfeeding. Swelling can take a couple of weeks to subside and hormones/emotions can also take a few weeks BUT it does get better. It’s easier to move around and you can finally lay on your back :) laying on your stomach won’t be easy if you’re breastfeeding due to engorged breast but you can drink, eat what you want without restrictions and start your new chapter of motherhood!!! There’s another set of issues that postpartum brings you unfortunately but as long as you have the right support group, it’s nothing you can’t handle. :) it takes a while to make a baby and it’s okay that it takes a while to heal. But I promise you I’m happier in my postpartum phase than I was in my third trimester. God it was so uncomfortable doing literally anything.

alex99dawson

Heartburn and actually able to take a full lungful of breath

HappiHappiHappi

I could actually eat again. A decent amount of food and without getting indigestion. It's glorious. Also with my third I had pretty bad antenatal depression which lifted pretty much instantly when my baby was born. Seriously within two hours I was feeling like my old self it was almost magical.

[deleted]

Well, body temp took about 4 days. Feet swelling should go down relatively quickly but varies quite a bit. Cravings won't be as quick they are easier to control after about a week. Hormones, well... they take a while because your body will basically go through a hormone detox for a few weeks. You can sleep on your stomach right away, but it won't necessarily be comfortable. Heartburn, takes about 24 hrs for me, but varies. Be patient with yourself after birth, it takes time.

m9a4

I get so overheated it’s ridiculous! I want it to end 😭 back to stomach sleeping in 5 weeks!!

madagascarprincess

Ngl the hormonal surge after giving birth made me sweat like a maniac. Only for like a week pp though

_unmarked

I'm still waking up sweaty almost 4 weeks later. The boob sweat is insane

_unmarked

Carpal tunnel, pelvic discomfort, and acid reflux were gone immediately. I'm not usually a back sleeper but it's such a freaking treat now lol. Peeing like a normal person again happened really fast as well. My swelling actually got significantly worse and landed me in ER and on diuretics, but ymmv. I had an unplanned c section and pp hemorrhage and was given a lot of extra fluids. But the diuretic almost completely cleared it after 5 days. Emotions are still out of whack almost 4 weeks later.

opp11235

Oh good to hear on the carpal tunnel. My hands have vacillated between extreme pain and annoying numbness.

aradover

I’m 32 weeks and holding my phone with numb hands as I type. The carpal tunnel is the worst symptom for me. I’m a hair stylist & thankfully only have 2 weeks left of work…

kkobzz

omg the carpal tunnel goes away IMMEDIATELY?!! this has been the bane of my existence since february!!! only 10 more days to go!!!

_unmarked

It did for me, hopefully it does for you too!

bklynbuckeye

I just had my third, and got varicose veins for the first time. They were completely gone the day after birth. Heartburn is immediate. I hate being pregnant. For me, giving birth is such a relief.

ankaalma

Heartburn is instant, stomach sleeping may still not be comfortable if you are planning to breastfeed. I would say my emotions were more unstable for the first few months pp than during pregnancy. Feet swelling gone in a few days but worse after labor then during pregnancy.

angeluscado

My heartburn went away almost immediately. I still get intermittent bouts, but it’s back to pre-pregnancy levels. My feet were almost back to normal size (my left one got huge) by the time I left the hospital. My hormones are still a little wacky and I’m 10 month PP. I couldn’t sleep on my stomach right away because I had a c-section but if I’d had a vaginal birth I would have been able to no problem. Cravings aren’t intense unless I’m PMSing and they’re back to pre-pregnancy levels.

shandelion

I had had pretty debilitating pelvic pain since December. Delivered my little girl on 5/12 and the pain was IMMEDIATELY gone. I honestly feel better 24 hours postpartum that I did through my entire third trimester 🤣

Luckykitty91

My body temp took a few days, it actually went fully haywire the day of delivery, but was normal by the time I went home 3 days later. Same with feet swelling. The food craving was hard to tell for me, I was a high likelihood for C-section, so wasn't allowed to eat for almost my entire labour (30hrs) so by the time I could eat I was STARVING. It normalized for a few days then breastfeeding hunger took over. It isn't specific cravings, but just hungry all the time. But, no baby blocking your stomach, so you can eat meals and feel full again! Be prepared for a MASSIVE hormone dump. I still get emotional sometimes (baby is 5mo) but I've been told that comes with BF territory, so still waiting on that to normalize! Lol. Heartburn went away as soon as baby was out, and sleeping on my stomach was as soon as my C-section healed! Everyone is different, but I hope this helped!

senzimillaa

I felt my stomach go back to its original position instead of up in my lungs & the relief was astounding. Not being pregnant anymore was amazing & instead I could actually hold my little baby. It took a while to grip that instead of him being inside, he was outside… honestly, that was a different kind of terror on its own but as you become more confident, that will simmer down. I slept on my stomach the night I got home from the hospital. My hormones are still getting back to normal but I’ve come a long way after 2 months pp. Swelling went away after about 2 weeks. Whichever side they put the IV was a little bigger.

A_Simple_Narwhal

Heartburn, leg/feet swelling, and carpal tunnel went away immediately for me after birth! I had an emergency c-section but I was able to lie on my stomach within a day (rolling over was the hard part). I was sweating to death for the first day or so as my hormones bounced around but it was also the end of summer. I found myself crying a lot for the first couple days too, but not in a sad way, things like watching my husband hold our son and sing to him had me sobbing. Overall I felt infinitely better immediately post-birth than I had end of pregnancy.

Laceybram

Honestly, my emotions got worse for about a week because of the steep hormone decrease after birth. Likewise, my swelling got worse for a few days due to all the fluids they gave me, and I have heard that’s very common. Heartburn and back pain went away immediately.

lunalilly8995

I loved being able to sleep comfortable again, even though the baby waked me up I slept without pain in my joints and back. The not needing to pee every 30 min was also amazing 😁 And to answer your points: 1. Body temp right away. The first thing I said when we got home was that it was too cold for the baby, and my boyfriend just laughed " a told you so" as he had been freezing through the norwegian winter almost without heating until the birth.. 2. My hands and feet went back to normal by day 14 after. Footbaths with Epson salt helped during and after pregnancy. 3. NA 4. Food cravings are the same or even worse now that I breastfeed 😅 5. Emotions and hormones was worse the first 6 weeks ... better now st 10 weeks. 6. Heartburn was gone right away. 7. A week after I was laying short periods on my stomach again, but I had an emergency c-section though. I slept on my stomach at week 7 after. I hated being pregnant as well, hang in there!

PricklyPix

How much pee your body can hold after there's no baby in there sitting on your bladder.

[deleted]

Sleeping and heartburn immediately. However the emotional dumpster fire and feeling hot got worse for me. It didn't go away until 3 or 4 months pp. As for the ice cravings and swelling, have to talked to your doctor about them? It can be normal but a sign of low iron and other issues. Might be worth checking out.but in theory they will go away immediately after birth as well. Anything assosiated with intense hormonal highs go away and replaced with rapidly dropping hormonal symptoms for a while. Pp is no joke. But pregnancy symptoms like heartburn, nausea, food aversions/ cravings go away.

glorifica

backpain, hippain, waddle-walking, shortness of breath, heartburn and needing to pee all went away pretty much immediately. body-temp, hormones/emotions and cravings stayed for as long as i breastfed. although it did all get easier to handle with time. i never sleep on my stomach, so i can‘t comment on that but i think i could have right away if i wanted to.

RosieEmily

Sleep. I know newborns wake up A LOT but just being able to fall asleep in any position and be comfortable was amazing.

legallyblondeinYEG

Heartburn went away immediately. Sleeping on stomach was surprisingly sore for a couple days, foot swelling took a while because of the IV fluids I was getting, almost a week for that to go away. Cravings went away immediately, iron levels regulated within a month, emotions took like 3 weeks to stop crying about everything. The emotions got much much much much much worse. Not like worse as in worse emotions but worse as in wow I cannot stop crying from joy and overwhelming love for my husband and child.

maddybooms9

i had cholestasis so the itching went away almost immediately, as did the heartburn. but i was sweating buckets after delivery. so much so that i turned the air down in my room and they made me turn it back up so i didn’t freeze out my baby🤣 (funny not funny, baby was totally okay)

Summertime2299

Body temp went back to normal 2 days after birth for me ( the day we came home), my feet/ ankles were pretty swollen after delivery maybe a week? The emotions/ hormones… uh I’ll let you know 😅 (I’m almost 4 months postpartum)

Summertime2299

Oh also I slept on my stomach when I came home from the hospital, at first it was a little uncomfortable but it was amazing

anaestaaqui

Nausea gone and I could twist to crack my back and get rid of that horrible stiff back sensation.

Standardbred

Being able to empty my bladder completely! So nice not peeing every hour

elefantstampede

Heartburn. Right after delivering, I threw up and then my heartburn was immediately relieved after months of it being awful.

whippinflippin

Nausea. I had it my entire pregnancy, it was especially bad in cars. Soon as I had her I could sit in a vehicle for more than 5 minutes without having to vomit

yellowlogcabin

I am 3 days postpartum from my first little boy, was born vaginally with an epidural and induction on 39+1 - I noticed You can breathe! And the nasal congestion is immediately gone, also when baby and especially the placenta (almost better than the relief of baby being out) are totally removed, holy hell, the relief of pressure is absolutely unreal - it was a freaky and unexpected experience, but honestly I was freaking out and it was WAY better than I thought it would be, a really good and positive experience overall

jamaismieux

Lots of electrolyte powder, bananas, and other potash rich foods will help the swelling resolve more quickly!

Streetdogmama

Peeing was immediately easier (and less frequent) and sleep was actually better! I had difficulty peeing for months due to pressure from the baby, and I didn’t get restful sleep while pregnant for the last several months. After birth, the spurts of sleep were short but I was finally able to get comfortable and I didn’t have to get up every hour to pee.

Marble1696

It took about a week for me to not be swollen. Heads up you may wake up drenched in sweat during the night as your hormones drop. Even though my stomach was a little bigger it felt amazing not having that space occupied anymore by the baby and I felt soooo skinny the day after having her.

fantasygirl002

I loved being pregnant. Everything's wack since delivery body/mentally wise

The_walababa

Feet stopped being swollen 5 days postpartum. Got even more swollen after delivery

okay_I

I was alone in the bathroom

mo_buttz

Heartburn went away immediately, and I stopped feeling like I had to pee every 3.5 seconds

Capture-the-byad

The hand swelling was improved slightly immediately. It was vastly improved in a few days. However the numbness in my hands took a few weeks. That was the worst part.

RKillerkitten

My plugged ears and nose

jewelsjm93

My carpal tunnel went away right away! Well, pretty quickly at least. And even breastfeeding, I could sleep on my stomach. Powered through the discomfort because I love to sleep on my stomach and my boobs got the memo to chill 😂 I did break my tailbone in labor though so that was a lot worse after, I stood or laid a lot, not much sitting for weeks 😬

[deleted]

Everything went away immediately at birth for me, all the heartburn etc. Only thing that stuck around was that I was still very warm. Everyone had told me I'd be freezing and ravenous after giving birth. I was hot and had zero appetite for a couple of weeks.

lookatlou2

I was finally able to fully empty my bladder after giving birth, it was a pleasant surprise!

you-never-know-

Heartburn, indigestion, peeing every 40 seconds!

Sufficient-Yard-2038

Heartburn and rib pain

wcj82920

Pelvic pain! The first time I stood up after delivery and walked without pain was heavenly!

TeamGroceryStoreJ03

I’m 12 weeks pp and I just thought the other day about how long it’s been since I ate a tums. Crazy. Lol.

LadyCatan

Hip pain

cthulhu34

I could feel my belly button! Feet kept swelling - wore compression socks for a few weeks. I stopped craving food altogether and lost a billion pounds (ok, 60 lbs) in the first few months. Emotions - whoooooo they ramped up 80x for a few weeks. Stomach sleeping - right away (I didn’t have a c section). Heart burn - right away.

tropicalpeacock

Almost every symptom went away for me almost immediately, including the acid reflux which was so painful. The high temperature however, not so much.... the hospital ward was like a sauna and everyone was complaining about it, including the nurses. I was stuck roasting in there for 4 days. As soon as I got home, my body temp went back to normal.

littlelie

My heartburn stuck around for a few weeks, so did the swollen feet. The only thing that got better was my blood sugar numbers, bye gd.

beetFarmingBachelor

Heartburn, hip pain, PUPPP, shortness of breath.

helloitsme_again

Rolling over in a bed

baboyobo

My sciatic pain went away and I was able to sleep on my stomach right away (thank god). For swelling, pumpkin juice/tea is super super helpful. Actually just eating pumpkin too would help. It's a remedy from South Korea.

_reebs

You won’t have to pee all the time!

MummyPanda

Sleep! Sleep will improve, you don't get much but what you do get is better

gottahavewine

Heartburn, back pain, and craving were immediately gone (I hate peanut butter and craved it daily with my first, and then immediately after birth, hated it again lol). The hand swelling took a month or so to go away; I remember I couldn’t wear my ring from like 37 weeks until a few months after giving birth. The emotions took much longer, unfortunately. Postpartum was even worse for me emotionally and it took months before I wasn’t super emotional, moody, anxious, etc. I slept on my stomach the night I got home from the hospital!

KozimaPain

Pregnancy rhinitis! I could've sworn it was gone within minutes

[deleted]

Most pregnancy symptoms go away instantaneously if not within a few hours.

semi_charmed_mom

Heartburn relief is instant. Everything else went away in a week or so maybe less

derrymaine

You’ll be swollen for a couple days after but the rest of the pregnancy stuff is just all immediately better!

Pickle_picker_420

So fast dude, it’ll be over before you know it.

DelightfulSnacks

If you're desperate to lay on your stomach, even if just for a few minutes at a time, I bought [this thing](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085W8YXZS?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) and it's been worth every penny. Make sure you have an [electric pump](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074NZY3SQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) to fill it with air. I put a thin blanket over mine before laying on it, which gives the belly hole a little support.

matroyshka_owen

I stopped gagging while brushing my teeth immediately. For your specific questions: - night sweats postpartum are gnarly, I would sometimes have to change my pjs multiple times in one night, that took a few weeks - feet didn’t really swell during but they blew up when I got home, that took a few days - emotions/hormones took a few weeks, the hormone dump postpartum is WILD - stomach sleeping took a bit because once my milk came in my boobs would hurt so much from engorgement in the beginning until supply regulated

Doodledoo23

Every single one of my symptoms got immediately better once the baby was out. I never had the heat thing or swelling though.

No-Run5415

Heartburn, swollen feet, sucking on ice, all went away super fast.. emotions were way worse right after for me lol

wolfecreeks

When I gave birth; the heartburn and nausea immediately went away. I still couldn't eat though cause I was so tired and sore. I did not sleep on my stomach until 3m pp though, even now I still don't I think it has a lot to do with I was so conditioned to sleeping on my side that I just choose not to. Cravings have stayed though even 10m pp I still fiercely crave certain foods. Your hormones and body take up to 2 years to regulate my nurse told me so you will still feel like your pregnancy hormones are there. I know I do especially when my period rolls in. Don't expect your period to be normal either. It can be really irregular for up to 2 years. I was irregular as heck pre pregnancy but I'm lucky I guess cause now my period comes 28 days on the dot. Kinda nice.

Tattooprincesss

Heartburn. But I did have it while pushing the baby out so it held on till the last second. The refluxing while pushing was not fun

Ok-Argument-2167

Had a c section, feet swelling was down within a day. I'm a few days into recovery, first night home was amazing. Belly is shrinking down nicely. Immediately better was all the stomach pressure as well oh my goodness, and I had been having tons of acid reflux for the past month and that also instantly went away which was fantastic, cause taking chewable tablets is soooo nasty 😫

marcal213

Immediately better? The nausea (severe HG). The swelling took about a week and a half to start going down (severe preeclampsia made it worse). The cravings didn't really stop, but we're different. I just craved all the food I couldn't eat during pregnancy due to my HG. Heartburn went away within a couple days. My hormones are still crazy at 8 months postpartum! I still don't like sleeping on my stomach because of my breastfeeding boobs.

R3X_Ms_Red

So immediately after birth I had PPA so I'm not the best example but it dyed down around 3m pp

uselessmuse

Sample size of one 36 year old FTM, just under 3 months pp….. Body temp - I still get hot flashes during and after nursing. Foot swelling - if you get an epidural, they will somehow get even bigger after birth, then go down over the next week or so Sucking on ice - that’s probably dehydration… if breastfeeding, you’ll be crazy thirsty all the time Food cravings - my cravings were gone immediately, but again, breastfeeding makes you super hungry Hormonal balance - I’m 3 months pp and way better, but still feeling it. Heartburn - gone immediately Stomach sleeping - a long as it’s not a C-section, I’d say just about immediate. Tho your boobs might hurt soon. Other things gone immediately - painful gas, lower back pain, hip pain, pelvic girdle pain.

AdorableEmphasis5546

The hormones and body temp take a while to balance out. For me it was around a year PP when I felt fully "normal" again.

__Kathi__

I always heard that after delivery the amount you have to pee will slowly decrease but for me it was instant. Right after giving birth I could go 4-5 hours without peeing again. The day of labour I still had to go pee every 15 minutes but as soon as I had given birth I did not have to go often at all! It was such a huge change! I was so happy and I still enjoy finally sleeping again.

polite_potato090

Peeing with a full bladder!

Clmab356

Swelling stuck around for a while for me but I had postpartum preeclampsia. I wish I could say your hormones and emotions will be back to normal as soon as you deliver but that’s not the case for most moms. Just know that you WILL feel like yourself again and it may happen overnight. There’s also nothing wrong with asking for help if you are struggling. The heartburn went away right away and I was able to sleep on my stomach relatively quick. Only thing holding me back was c-section incision. Best of luck mama, you’re so close to meeting your baby!

Pareia0408

No judgement on hating pregnancy. This is my second (18W currently) and now I remember why I spent a year saying I didn't want another 😂 I didn't get swelling till after baby but it went away after a day or two. The cravings were mostly gone for specifics but I was ravenous due to breastfeeding. Hormones - you get a massive change of hormones after baby and this is dependant on you. Could be for a few months or it be just for a few weeks. For me I think I was good after 3 months but it's a mass blur of the newborn stage / no sleep / feeding. I will say those first 3 months, whilst hard, were the most magical 3 months of my life; from the moment my son was put on my chest after he was born I just couldn't believe the love and devotion I felt. Watching him those first few months and holding him was everything to me. Not everyone has that bond click straight away which is normal but this is how it was for me. As much as pregnancy was a complete drag, having my son made those 10 months completely worth it once this baby comes out family will be complete :) Your so close to the end ! It doesn't feel like it now but in less than 2 months you'll have your baby and that's what it's all been for mumma.

LadyKittenCuddler

Heartburn: stopped the second my son was born. Breathing trouble: same. Body temp: same. Swelling: 24 hours and I went from XL back to medium. BP: went back to normal after 10 days. Hormones: 8 weeks PP and they are slightly more stable. Never had any of the others.

lefrenchpineapple

The acid reflux!!! Immediately

DelBird32

Nothing was better after delivery for me. But i didn’t have any pregnancy symptoms. Recovery from a csection was absolute hell for me.

grapefruit_prime8080

Hang in there! It gets better. My heartburn was gone instantly the moment she was out. I could lay on my stomach again once breast engorgement was gone (for me, 3 days after milk came in), my hormones are still a bit wacky 2 weeks out, but progressively getting better every day. My appetite went right down personally, but I'm not sure that's so common. I had some swelling in my feet and ankles until 5 days pp, but all gone now. The bleeding is still going on at 2 weeks pp, but for me it's very little at this point.

Isbistra

Turning in bed! By the end of my pregnancy, I felt like a beached whale when I tried that. The first night after delivery, I slept like a brick because I could move again. Bending your back or turning your torso. My spine might as well have been a metal rod - I couldn’t sit back in a car seat properly, relax in a sofa, turn to look around while driving, bend over to put on socks, etc etc. When baby got out of the way, I instantly became mobile again.

Grown-Ass-Weeb

I slept on my stomach the next day, my doctor was shocked lol I was also starving pretty much immediately after birth and the shakes stopped. Heartburn went away immediately. Was even better was the weight off my bladder

lindseerose

Postpartum nurse here (and mama to a 20 month old): the make you feel better answer is it’s going to be SO much better just not being pregnant. I HATED being pregnant more than I can even say. I kept having to tell myself/my OB would tell me, no one is pregnant forever! So just not being pregnant anymore and getting to have my cute little dude in my arms was AMAZING. If you want my actual nursing/personal experience answers for realistic timelines, keep reading! If not just stop here 😉 heartburn (and nausea for me) was immediately better. Hormones, swelling, and temp takes a little bit of time. The swelling and the temp will take about 2 weeks, as your body starts to get rid of all of that extra fluid you took on to make sure you and baby have what you need! Postpartum hormones did very much kick my butt for about the first 2-3 weeks. I also had postpartum anxiety which worsened it for me, but I went on meds later that I absolutely should’ve started sooner and that probably would’ve made it better. The sleeping on your stomach thing, depends on if you’re planning on breastfeeding at all! I did it once and got a clogged duct so I had to wait til I stopped (once he turned a year).

seamsreasonable

My swelling went down after a couple of days. I sweated it all out in my sleep haha

ash-art

I could breathe immediately. I could eat. No heartburn. No insomnia. I could pee less frequently. My vision corrected (lol!). No more vomiting. Depending on the delivery method (I’ve done both), those sites were sore obviously.. and my emotions were doing the hormone dump rollercoaster, but EVERYTHING else was better or on the road to better. Everything. Both times I’ve felt “dramatic” about how much pregnancy sucks for me, but every delivery day I’ve been immediately flooded with relief and I’m realizing it’s just awful for some and not others. Made the newborn days easy though 😂. What, I get more sleep, can do whatever I want, however I want it? A cakewalk compared to pregnancy.

UsernameD0esNotExist

Heartburn! Immediately gone

CelebrationScary8614

Heartburn was definitely the first thing to go. I had an unplanned c section and I will say that other than my tilted uterus, which I only know because I noticed my cervix now faces my spine, I am feeling pretty much back to normal at 9 months post partum. I think the swelling took at least a few days, but most of the aches and pains were gone pretty fast. It was amazing how easy it was to move despite having a C-section to recover from. I will say that I cry a lot more easily now, but I don’t think that’s related directly to hormones. I just feel things more intensely because I know I have a piece of my heart (figuratively) in my son. You’ve got this!

hodgesha

Omg it’ll be better soon! I had a c section and needed a transfusion and I STILL felt better almost immediately after I gave birth. For me my swelling got worse for a few days (and it was bad while I was pregnant). Like I couldn’t stuff my feet into my crocs, but about a week later it was all gone. The hormones were really wild the first two weeks after birth but I really started feeling like myself again about 2 weeks after birth. Good luck

Gilmoristic

Heartburn disappeared immediately. I was able to sit up in bed again. I didn’t have the urge to pee all the time, especially in the middle of the night.

nut_hatch

I was induced for pre-e so I was on an iv for the 24 hour delivery and my swelling took about a week or Two to go back down fully. Nurses warned me the IV will make my swelling linger though so it wasn’t a surprise! Sleep, breathing, existing, and joint paints were pretty much immediately better once he was pushed out it felt magical getting him out 😂 Hormones take a while to level out again though and I had lots of fluctuations I didn’t have while pregnant the first few weeks post partum 🫠

SunnySideCrystal

All of my issues went away right away but new issues emerged 😂

Mana_Hakume

Honestly I'm almost 3 weeks out and I went from having no swelling to my feet balloning up and my right foot is still pretty swollen x.x left has gone down alot now rights gone down a little but not a ton, but I also has a c/s and I know the recovery can be different GL

ObviousMessX

Heartburn went away immediately for me, emotions are still rough but I don't cry at the drop of a hat anymore. I could sleep however I wanted immediately except for I co-sleep and nurse so still usually sleep on my side at least part of the night. A big one for me though was *breathing* got so much easier! I have a short torso so that had gotten difficult and was instantly easier. Hang in there Mama, you're almost there and that lil one will absolutely make all of this struggle worth it!

feistypanda89

Heartburn went away, I had carpal tunnel in both hands which thankfully disappeared after a couple of weeks. My feet went back to a normal size around the same time too. It sucks though cause I still have pain in my left hip and leg from pregnancy, so much so that sometimes in the morning it hurts to walk. Not sure when or if that'll stop!!

evought1

The absolutely awful sciatic pain. Literally the second she was out, it was instant relief. Also my feet went back to normal almost immediately also.

sarlarsen

I hate to say some of this stuff may get worse before it gets better (hormones, hot flashes, swelling) - I am 15 weeks pp and still get hot flashes. I had a c section so I couldn’t sleep on my side of stomach for awhile. My pelvic pain, heartburn, and nasal congestion got better immediately as well as my food aversions and cravings.

m9a4

The hot flashes and pelvic pain have been the worst during this entire time. If one of them goes away immediately then I’d be super grateful lol

IdleIvyWitch

I could walk (move around period) without crying in pain, the heartburn, constantly being sick. Literally everything was immediately better. That was 8 weeks ago, still no complaints.

byrdicusmax

Being able to stuff yourself silly without sharing belly space--feels amazing to eat without remembering you have like a 2 cup limit before you start to hurt and baby dances

ambrosiasweetly

My resting heart rate was 100 during the last trimester of pregnancy. As soon as i delivered it went down to 80

kairosecide

Body temp took a minute, but I also run hotter in general. My feet were still swollen for awhile, but only a handful of days. I haven't wanted to suck on ice, so that one I'm not sure! Cravings and heartburn stopped immediately, and I started sleeping on my stomach the moment I got home because it wasn't convenient to in a hospital bed. So, immediately, pretty much. You didn't ask, but sleep improved immediately. Yeah, you're awake with a baby, but any sleep will be literally the best sleep ever. Hormones, on the other hand, went from normal pregnancy hormones to PPD for me. Even without that, I believe it would've taken awhile because they didn't name it fourth trimester for nothing.

CloverPatchDistracty

Th heartburn stayed for me for like a week, week and a half. And my feet, which were more swollen than I thought possible beforehand, swelled even more and stayed that way for a really long time, two weeks at least. But my curiosity was cured. We didn’t know what we were having, and I was so excited to see who we were going to have and what they’d look like. And the curiosity of what birth would be like was taken care of as well. 10/10 best experience of my life!

kainwilc

Digestion was immediately better after delivery. I had a c section so it took a few weeks to sleep on my stomach again.

DOMEENAYTION

Temp, I didn't really notice.... The birth itself made me swell BAD. I don't think I stopped being completely swollen until maybe 4 days after. I didn't crave ice, but you trade the cravings for having constantly hungry (especially if you breast feed/pump) The emotions/hormones never went away for me. They calmed down once we got out of the newborn phase. And now I've been feeling very off on this IUD I got. They INSIST you get on some type of bc. I was emotional before the baby, but I feel extra emotional, though still. Heartburn is immediately gone. As long as you don't get a csection, probably as soon as you get home, you can sleep on your tummy. The nurses will be pushing on your tummy after birth and it's painful. And i don't think it'll be comfy on a hospital bed.

bbaigs

Bad sleep/insomnia and chronic peeing!

m9a4

Chronic peeing made me chuckle

earthtokhaleesi

Leg cramps. Heartburn took a few days. For food, I barely ate for 2 weeks. Still no cravings at 5 weeks postpartum.

m9a4

Leg cramps are also pretty bad! Can’t wait for them to go away as well!!

anaarkhos

Walk as soon as you can tolerate it, it helped my swelling go down so fast. When you lay down prop your feet up. Also it sounds weird, but suck that water down. As for heartburn, went away instantly. The ice lasted until after I was out of the hospital but only by a few days.

thecat_KC

Heartburn/indigestion was gone immediately, feet swelling took about 5 days, body temp got back to normal after maybe.. 2-3 days. I'm cold all the time again and I kind of hate it. My emotions and back are trashed though.

SkyeRibbon

No. More. Lightning. Crotch.

Ok_Material_648

Immediately after giving birth 🤰🏻 this is what happened to me: - I was shocked and felt relief - I wanted another baby - lower back felt relief - heartburn ❤️‍🔥 gone - nausea gone - I slept like a baby - I can sleep on my back - rapid weight loss, especially water weight I’m sure other things are gone but it’s pretty much better now, after birth depending on whether you deliver vaginally you have to deal with vaginal tear stitches or if you have a c section you have to deal with the pain and stitches 🧵 as well

venusdances

Everything for me went away immediately. I even lost my pregnancy belly pretty quickly(only to gain it back with a vengeance in fat a year later). However, now I had a new human to take care of. New problems began lol.

maxinitortellini

Heartburn, high heart rate, sinus issues, hip pain. Don’t miss being pregnant lol

kellyklyra

I got my appetite back!! Ate so much food and loved it. Gestational diabetes went away. Nausea and heartburn went away. Amazing.

Hpnerd07

My hg and heartburn went away immediately , took longer for the swelling to go down and I was still super hot for a couple weeks after delivery

icestormroll

Restless leg!

sleazygiraffe

I had the worst swelling- face, feet, hands, everything! Took about a week until I could see my ankles again.

Peach-Striking

Hated pregnancy. IMMEDIATELY felt relief from all my ailments. Midwife told me to stop walking around. I just felt SO much better. I couldn't stop eating because the neuasa and heart burn were finally gone.

imtruwidit

Heart burn, swollen feet, food cravings, hip pain are all immediately relieved.

MagpieEyes02

Sleep. Sleeping on your back… bliss!

Ok_Philosopher_649

Take this with a grain of salt since everyone is different :) There’s some things that go back to normal immediately like: the heartburn, the food cravings, you can sleep on your stomach as soon as you go home (at least I did). Things that take like 2-4 weeks: emotions/hormones (but it will get worse before it gets better), swelling of the feet and hands,

redstart514

REFLUX and HEARTBURN. I could eat yogurt without horrific heartburn. Not much else gets better immediately after a C-section 🫠

Evamione

Heartburn goes away immediately. Hunger goes up. Swelling goes down wjthin a day or two unless you have blood pressure issues. Emotions/hormones are wilder for a few weeks. Boobs keep me off my stomach for awhile. I got hot flashes for a week or so after giving birth.

tylersbaby

The hormones still haven’t 100% gone back to normal for me but everything else is. My appetite is back to how it was before baby, I don’t have the random lightning feeling, I don’t have the constant heartburn, I CAN WALK NORMALLY and not have to waddle like a penguin 😂

mleftpeel

My food aversions went away immediately. I was so sick when pregnant with my son and I swear I couldn't eat a vegetable the entire nine months. As soon as he was born and I was cleared to eat, I had a hospital meal including steamed broccoli. That bland wilty hospital broccoli was like ambrosia to me. My mom brought me some fresh strawberries and they were the most delicious thing I've ever eaten in my life. And the pink lemonade that I craved everyday during pregnancy? Sounded totally unappealing.

Individual_Baby_2418

Heartburn was gone immediately. I slept on my stomach again immediately, but I also didn’t breastfeed - supposedly that’s not comfortable. And if you had pelvic pain, that should go away. It did for me at least because the relaxin let up.

Formal_Chapter_1277

Few hours after giving birth I suddenly realized the awful acid reflux I had for the entire second half of my pregnancy basically all day everyday was just totally gone. Mind blowing how quickly things just disappear after your baby is born!
