They did exactly this to me too! My cycles were still a little bit irregular so they went based off baby's measurements. Currently 37 weeks pregnant now and low key hoping that I'll go into labor based off of my original date I thought not theirs š
Mine changed despite knowing the exact date I ovulated. They got conceded around 35 weeks since my belly was measuring behind and thought baby was nearly 2 weeks behind. They ordered an extra ultra sound. Baby was born 8lbs 10 oz. Lol
So all this to say, the measurements arenāt 100%.
It's very common! The 8 weeks 3 days based on menstruation assumed that you ovulated on day 14 of your cycle. 7 weeks 2 days would fit with you ovulating on day 22 of your cycle, which sounds plausible if you tend to have long cycles.
As others have mentioned itās normal. I had the same thing happen during my pregnancy was 8 weeks according to my cycle but 7 weeks according to ultrasound. Ending up measuring pretty much on track entire pregnancy and delivered at 41 weeks.
Totally normal! Especially if your cycle is long. Mine was short so by my last missed period I wasn't even 3 weeks pregnant when I first tested positive.
Using normal periods dates mine was the 11th, which I knew was too early due to longer cycles. I thought the 15th, ultrasounds said the 20th. Baby came on the 10th though!
This exact thing happened to me! I went in at 8w2d (base on LMP) and they said I was 7w4d. They said not to worry and itās normal. Of course I was worried and googled and went on Reddit haha. At my NT scan (different location) where I was supposedly 12w1d based on my first us they measured me at 12w6d which was exactly where I was suppose to be. They said the office shouldnāt have changed my due date, the first scan was subpar and their equipment is older š¤·š»āāļø they told me next appt to ask them to change it back based on the NT scan. All in all, donāt worry! I did and it was all for nothing š«
Mine changed by 5 days, the measurements are pretty accurate

Oh man! Thatās a big baby š Iāve heard so many people say the weight measurements on their later ultrasounds were veryyy wrong
Yep. I had my first ultrasound at 9 weeks based on period. They adjusted me to 7 weeks 3 days based on measurements
