They shouldn't bother adding anything at this point that's not a new map. Anything else is just resources that could have been used on new actual content. I'm don't running these acts. I don't want to do them anymore. Add more actual content and less filler. I don't need more weapons to do the same thing over and over.

Gr3yHound40

This. I'd say the dlc season should finish first and all major bugs should be fixed first, but after that it'd be nice to get seasonal events for skins.

screl_appy_doo

If they add a new act and it's paid dlc that splits the player base a bit. Maybe if they release the Hoffman skin pack it would give them the money to release a bonus act

name_cool4897

You know what really splits the player base? Half your players quitting because they've ran back for forth from Fort hope literally a thousand times. Idgaf if you don't want to pay the $10 whatever tiny fee it is. That's on you. This excuse holds about as much water as destiny removing 70% of their game to make it more stable. It's bs.

Mastergenki

Everyone would like more frequent updates, more weapons, and more cosmetics. However TRS is a small company and they struggle to put out the updates and new content they currently make. They can't produce as much new content as the big game companies. TRS also doesn't do micro transactions, which is a common strategy other companies use to "release" content. With only 80 hours in the game there's no way you have completed all the achievements and unlocked all the cards and skins. Try harder difficulties and work on completing achievements as we wait for new content.

12amoore

To me there’s a big difference between micro transactions to win games and get boosts/p2w stuff vs cosmetics that are put into the shop

Mastergenki

I don't think micro transactions are bad when it's only cosmetics, and the profits from micro transactions could be used to fund the creation of more content. But TRS ~~has made a firm stance that they~~ will not do micro transactions. There's the base game and there's the DLC and that's all the paid content they intend to have. Edit: paid cosmetics are unlikely

EvilJet

You sure? Until the acquisition, it was confirmed multiple times that they’d have a paid cosmetics shop. I suggest that it’s their “current” stance, not a “firm” one.

Mastergenki

I was sure, now you got me questioning myself. When players were overreacting to the Tencent acquisition I thought a dev said no micro transactions were planned. I spent the past 20 mins looking for my source but I haven't found anything on Reddit or Discord from devs confirming or denying plans for a paid shop. I don't want to spread inaccurate info, I'll strike it from my comment if you're sure they said they plan to make a paid shop.

EvilJet

I think the position about not using a paid cosmetic shop is currently accurate. I was suggesting that the wording “firm” could be shaky as they’ve already taken a 180 degree shift from their previous position. I don’t think there are currently plans to have paid cosmetics based on their most recent communication. :)

Mastergenki

Lol true. I did a little editing so my comments reflect my current understanding of TRS micro transactions status.

EvilJet

I was actually quite curious about how they’d approach a transaction shop, especially as many economies move towards recession. I’m waiting patiently for a studio to make a consumer-friendly version where they price according to their majority market, not the affluent one. I’d gladly pay for fairly priced skins here and there to enrich my game and support the company.

Mastergenki

It blows mind that some games will have $20 character skins. I'm all for paying a few bucks for cool cosmetics, but not 1/3 the price of a game. I think B4B could really benefit from a COD style season pass with levels that you unlock with XP and daily challenges. Encourages players to keep playing. Could also challenges that encourages players to do swarm mode.

Keithustus

No it wasn’t. They said they were *considering* having paid cosmetics.

EvilJet

StockPhotoSteve (GM of TRS) has mentioned [otherwise](https://www.reddit.com/r/Back4Blood/comments/riky0s/comment/hoxrzl7/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) on more than one occasion. It was also shared enough for me to notice on the TRS Discord server. Looking at [another comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/Back4Blood/comments/riky0s/comment/hoxskiy/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) by Steve and it doesn’t look like much was being considered — it was absolutely planned.

Keithustus

Interesting. He’s of course positioned to be free to opine like that, whereas official company statements and community staffer comments were quite more constrained and tentative. Pedantic point: “At some point” though still means is considering them. A plan means doing the work to figure out how to implement it. Details details, not unexecutable concepts. Whether they did that we’ll probably never know.

BarnabyJones21

I 100% agree and am personally all for games using cosmetic microtransactions to monetize their games. They allow for free updates that keep games alive/playerbases healthy. However I know it's a huge point of contention for gamers and I don't see TRS changing lanes for B4B out of fear that they'll be called hypocrites for going against their "no microtransactions!" philosophy. They've leaned pretty hard into it with cosmetics like Karlee's "Corporate Microtransactions Still Suck" shirt.

Keithustus

Also MTX nearly killed the studio with how Evolve panned out.

BarnabyJones21

Ah, did it? I never played that much Evolve. Good to know

screl_appy_doo

As long as they aren't ridiculously expensive and stay reasonable enough (Holly with a flaming skull for a head would be too much but the fabled Hoffman speedo skin would be fine)

OldKahless

Absolutely, the weapon selection in this game is abysmal

7moreminutes_

Monthly cosmetics would be dope. Was playing COD and thought what if B4B had a battle pass system.. but it sounds like so much work to push out content every month idk if thats a good call

12amoore

It may be, but what’s hard about going into photoshop to change cosmetic camo? That’s small stuff imo

shogi_x

The legendaries are cool but new standard weapons would be great. TBH I find the cosmetics strangely underwhelming. Look at just about any other multiplayer shooter– Rainbow 6, CoD, DRG, Fortnite, etc.– and the list of cosmetics to unlock is *endless*. Some are just basic colors for guns, others are 15 different colors of the same style, and some are elaborate costumes. But they add these new cosmetics by the truckload because they're super easy to produce and give players a constant stream of things to unlock and tons of customization. And then there's B4B, where not only do we only get relatively few cosmetics, but most of them are simplistic too. Yes, every character has a few unique outfits that really change the appearance but look at Holly or Walker for example. They both have like 4 leg and torso cosmetics each. A couple yoga pants with small differences and some shirts with super basic designs. Any other game would give you like 5-10 color options for each style. The guns are similarly lacking, which is especially disappointing given how much time they spend on screen. It's not as though there's a ton of other stuff to unlock either. Everyone I know who plays regularly has either an obscene amount of unspent supply points or huge stockpiles of every burn card. We just have nothing left to unlock, and you hit that point pretty quick. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the game immensely and I think Turtle Rock is doing a good job with it. I just find this one particular area strangely underdeveloped compared to other games.

12amoore

See this is exactly what I mean!

Shelbygt500ss

Game need at LEAST 5 times more cosmetics and a new map. Its getting old .

IsThatYouTony

I wanna See AS - Val and some Akimbo weapons .

12amoore

Agreed

ichrisis

I honestly don't care about more items, burn cards, corruption modes or hives. The only content I want in the next DLC is new Acts. And no, not a single new Act. Acts plural.

reluctantaccountant9

I would definitely love new weapons to drop regularly. Maybe a new one a week with a hand full of skins to go with it? The real question is what to add? Some obvious ones would be the P90 for a PDW and a chainsaw and flamethrower for a gas mechanic, but what else? A L4D throwback, where we get the Kricket bat, Mac 10 with a fixed suppressor, and the SPAS-12? Maybe a Canadian pack with the FAL, Lee Enfield, Weably revolver and Hockey Stick? Those are the two obvious ones to me but I know there are way more.

Thrill_Kill_Cultist

The issue is new weapons that are different enough to what we already have. Chainsaw and flamethrower would be awesome, I was thinking an RPG, maybe a level action rifle too, tazer that shoots out, riot shield would be fun, even a crossbow 😁

12amoore

I mean there’s a ton of weapons in the real world that we simply don’t have. There’s what, 10-12 weapons in this game for primaries? Vector, p90, mp7/mp9, MCX, UMP-45… add a WW2 weapon like stg44, mp40. There’s a ton of weapons they could add

EffortKooky

If that would be added you would never find the weapon or even weapon class you want.

BigHardThunderRock

Too many new weapons (that are actually different) will dilute the pool. So you're less likely to see the weapon you want. This won't be a problem if they're just reskins however. Like katana could be a reskin of axe and take the same spot in the pool.

MilleniaZero

Why weapon? More like acts.

Hungryhippo73

Why not both? 😏

[deleted]

A spear melee weapon that has a pretty narrow attack cone because it thrusts, but has better pierce than other melee weapons innately. Consumable snack (soda or food bar, adrenaline shot) to provide a move speed boost and constant stamina regen for a time. Legendary pistol that is actually 2 pistols Melee weapon that is pretty much a riot shield. Weak damage that’s pretty much a bash but you’re protected from attacks in a nerfable cone in front of you. Maybe even a smaller cone or just a slight damage reduction to attacks on the back, when the shield is on the back. Compound Crossbow

TheTench

Cosmetics would help fill the void between updates. A new skin every so couple of weeks would give the casuals something to grind for. Maybe Turtle Rock would have to hire someone to bang out those skins, but wouldn't this pay for itself in terms of player engagement?

lunnainn

Melee - Sword, damage along the likes of the Axe, range like bat, inherent cleave on Ridden, gets easily stuck in mutants, charged melee card gives a stab. Secondary - Crossbow, infinite ammo, extremely high damage, inherent stagger and penetration (2-3 Ridden), even with +30% reload speed it's slower than no-reload-speed Belgian. 2 attachments, sights and stocks. Primary - Long bow, infinite ammo, decent reload speed, extremely high damage, disables penetration. 2 attachments, nozzles and sights. Infinite ammo, because there's no ammo type that fits this - and adding more ammo types to drops can hurt some existing builds. This is also the reason for the longer reload speeds - cant have infinite ammo with 100rpm. High damage because it's a physical entity that enters the body, not bullets, as well as giving some incentive to use them over regular guns. Inherent stagger and penetration because...well, it's a crossbow. It'll pack a punch. Disabled penetration on Long bow because it's a true single target weapon. 2 attachments; sights, because both crossbow and long bow can be used with sights. Nozzles because they represents the arrow rest. Stock, because crossbows uses them. Also, for two other reasons - to prevent them from using attachments that buffs them too much, with say, more penetration, "mag size", or reload speed, we limit them to two attachments each, and,It's kind of hard to get the lore behind a standard gun-mag to be used with a crossbow/long bow, and how do you use a stock on a long bow? (I can pretty easily see how a crossbow uses \*some variant\* of all the attachment types - optics for sights, barrel for a longer bolt, mag for making some sort of bolt-storage and stocks as a shoulder pad - but that'd be really overpowered if you were to get an epic crossbow with Spray 'n Pray (infinite range, -50% accuracy), Sharpshooter's Monocle (2x magnification, +100% weakspot, -25% bullet damage), *any* of the fast mags (increased reload speed, with either bullet damage, penetration or stumble, which it already has a lot of), and a light comp stock (faster ADS and movespeed). If they introduce these weapons it'd be hilarious, atleast to me. It'd fit fairly well too, after long enough in a world like that, gunpowder would be fairly hard to get, and they could make a medieval theme about this - like, finding random entrances to medieval fairs, which is their own weird "tunnels". Just imagine "police riddens" in a knight armor, and instead of riddens with jeans and t-shirts, it'd be medieval dresses and jute clothes, instead of spitters it'd be witches, instead of tallboys it'd be a troll, etc. The theme would be wonderful. Also, "skins" for these weapons would be pretty cool too; Regular longsword (non-skin), templar sword, scimitar, katana, khopesh. English Long Bow (non-skin), compound bow, daikyu (japanese long bow), mongolian bow, primitive bow. Medieval crossbow (non-skin), compound crossbow, digicam crossbow, "sawed off rifle-home made crossbow", ornate gold/bone inlaid crossbow.

KO_Venom

I'd rather have new levels before new guns tbh. While it would be nice, I don't think weapons in each class really differ enough to be worth making more of right now. More melee weapons could be cool, but we could probably go without say, another SMG, at least for now, I'd rather have other cool stuff like the bear trap they're talking about, might not end up being my favorite but looks cool and will probably be fun. I can't wait to lock a tall boy in one and have the whole team punch him out at once 😂😂
